This collections volunteer role involves managing all static collection tins within your local area including identifying opportunities to place a collection tin, emptying the tin and banking the money.

There is no minimum time commitment, but the role requires a level of regular commitment to ensure that tasks are completed.

Jumble Sales Organiser Volunteer

Would you like to raise funds, have fun and join a super team of volunteers who together make our Jumble Sales in Thatcham a great success?  As Jumble Sales Organiser you would be helping to make everything run smoothly for the team.

Time Expectations:  1 Saturday every other month (plus preparations)

This could be a shared role and tasks may include:

· Booking the hall for future Jumbles

· Contacting the Jumble team before events to check availability

· Set up stalls, running a stall and packing away at the end

· Collecting any items/resources needed from the centre the day before

Without volunteers, Cats Protection Berkshire Cat Centre simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing, friendly volunteers are a diverse group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments.

We're often looking to welcome new volunteers to join our brilliant team. As well as meeting great people and making an incredible difference to the cats of Berkshire.

Please note:  Although we do welcome everyone, unfortunately our centre is not set up to accommodate young volunteers under the age of 18, including those on the Duke of Edinburgh programme.

Job Summary
The Trustee plays a pivotal role in overseeing the governance and strategic direction of the organisation. East London Waterworks Park is looking for volunteers to lead social media and content creation for communications and campaigning for our community-owned park.

East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces. 

We are looking for social media and content creator leads to participate in our community-led working group who are promoting public awareness and support of the project. 

There is opportunity to lead on projects across communications, content creation, social media, PR, newsletters, film, podcasts or any other channels of interest, and facilitate the direction of the working group.

The Comms Circle currently meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.

You will be at the forefront of our digital strategy to create a huge new biodiverse park and natural swimming ponds. We’re looking for creative and strategic thinkers who can craft compelling narratives and visually stunning content. You should have a deep understanding of social media platforms and analytics tools to measure and optimize our campaigns. International Aid for the Protection & Welfare of Animals (IAPWA) is a UK-registered animal welfare charity dedicated to creating a better future for animals in need.

IAPWA are currently seeking an Adventure Co-ordinator to join their UK team to support their ‘Adventures for Animals’ fundraising initiative.

Introduction from the Chair

At the Money Advice Trust, we are at the forefront of helping people and micro businesses facing financial difficulty. It’s a hugely exciting time for the charity – we’re helping more people than ever before, while also laying the foundations for a new era in our charity’s contribution to tackling problem debt in the UK.

Our National Debtline and Business Debtline services helped people through 271,000 advice interactions last year - an increase of 36% - and we have plans to significantly grow our services in the years ahead.

However, with around 8 million people in need of debt advice in the UK, we know there is more to do. We have therefore re-focused the charity’s mission - to help prevent financial difficulty and remove problem debt from people’s lives – and begun work on a clear new strategy to deliver this.

This will see us transform our National Debtline and Business Debtline services, through improved customer journeys, new technology and stronger partnerships, and broaden our reach, particularly with groups of people less likely to seek advice currently. We’ll also do more to prevent financial difficulty occurring in the first place, making this a priority for our influencing and campaigning work.

As Trustees, we play a key role in helping achieve these ambitions, shaping and overseeing the strategic direction, ensuring the charity has the capability and stability to keep making a difference to people’s lives.

We have vacancies for two new Trustees to help us achieve our ambitions. The Money Advice Trust, a leading charity providing free, independent debt advice to UK consumers and micro businesses, seeks two talented people to join its forward-thinking board.

Applicants need to have a passion for our work, a strategic mindset, and relevant governance experience. In addition, we are specifically looking for:

1.  A new Chair of our Finance, Audit and Risk Committee, to oversee our finances and ensure appropriate controls are in place to manage risk. You should have a background in financial management, audit and risk at senior level in a charity, public or private sector body*.

2.  A board member to help support work on income generation, commercial partnerships and business development. You should have a commercial mindset and experience in sales, commercial partnerships or similar at senior level.

We are looking for a volunteer to undertake follow up phone calls to clients, this might be after an intervention with them or at intervals after closure. To ensure we a complaint with GDPR, we record consent, and this is stored on our inhouse Client database CRM.

• Present the responses in an accessible format e.g. using Word or Excel.

• Provide insight into improvements for the activities involved 

Skills and experience required 

The aim of the post is to gather information and feedback regarding the service we offer and the impact this has made. Therefore, we are looking for somebody who is:

• Comfortable interacting with stakeholders in person and over the telephone 

• Is considerate of tone and language during interactions. 

• Has good listening skills. 

• Has strong written skills and the ability to take detailed and accurate notes of the discussion whilst on the telephone or in person. 

• Has good IT skills, including experience using MS Office software such as Excel and Forms. 

• Is resilient to potentially challenging conversations, while understanding the boundaries of the role.
