This is a hugely exciting opportunity to join Gloucester Cathedral as it enters a key period of development. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and highly skilled individual to oversee our small but busy fundraising function, helping to develop and implement our Fundraising Strategy and deliver Cathedral’s Development Plan. You will oversee the depth and breadth of our Fundraising and Development activities, which includes the day-to-day running of the team, delivering our ambitious In Tune Campaign, leading on the development of future capital campaigns and looking after a portfolio of high value donors. You will also play an instrumental role in further developing new relationships with major donors.
We’re looking for a high performing team player with great communication skills, adaptability and an innovative approach to achieving ambitious fundraising targets of circ. £1.5m per year. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team you will help to deliver the Cathedral’s strategic vision and will be responsible for ensuring that our welcome values are lived out on a daily basis through the way that we engage with donors, supporters and partners.
You’ll be working closely with teams across the Cathedral - including our Music Team, Clergy, and Learning & Participation team - so the ability to form positive relationships with various stakeholders is crucial.
The ideal candidate will have:
· At least five years’ experience of working in a heritage or visitor attractions leadership role, with a proven track record of securing and growing income, delivering large scale fundraising campaigns and working with major donors
· Experience of line-managing and leading a staff team at a senior level

Rockinghorse Children’s Charity supports children across Sussex. We support babies, children, young people and their families at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton and all of the specialist children’s wards and baby units throughout Sussex.
We deliver and fund projects that enable doctors, nurses and other health professionals to do more. All of projects are led by the needs of children and young people and their families. In 2022 we launched our three-year strategic plan, which prioritised our activities to enable us to support more babies, children and teenagers. We are thrilled to embark on an exciting new project, the Rockinghorse Wellbeing Service, designed to proactively enhance the mental health and well-being of hundreds of children, young people, and families living in Sussex. This innovative service will be situated at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton.
The Wellbeing Service Manager will be responsible for delivering certain activities based on their skills and experience, collaborating with third-party providers and volunteers for others. This may involve bedside activities to improve the experience of in-patients, as well as group activities within the hospital or out in the community.
Each activity will undergo careful planning and evaluation, incorporating the voices and perspectives of young people. This approach ensures that we provide the most impactful activities to meet their needs.
Our primary goal is to support children and young people managing various illnesses, conditions, and disabilities through activities that alleviate stress and foster connections with others undergoing similar experiences.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Wellbeing Service Manager to join our team and take the lead on this new service. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in elevating the overall wellbeing of our young patients. The position involves coordinating and implementing a diverse range of wellbeing activities and programs focused on fostering a positive and supportive environment within the hospital.
This role is part of the Projects & Operations team, one of three teams within the charity, alongside the Supporter Engagement team and the Communications team.
Duties of the role
Develop and Implement the Wellbeing Service
· The Wellbeing Service Manager will form part of a steering committee of senior and experienced NHS staff who are helping to develop and shape the service.
· Design and execute engaging wellbeing programs tailored to the unique needs of children, their families, and hospital staff.
· Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to integrate wellbeing activities into the overall care plan for paediatric patients.
· Demonstrate proficiency in leading consultations, developing comprehensive plans, and monitoring progress against established goals.

Training and Education

Documentation and Reporting

Essential experience, skills and knowledge for the role:
1. Qualified in a relevant area (eg youth work, social work, nursing, counselling, mental health) or with equivalent professional experience.

Cherry Lodge Cancer Care is an independent charity committed to improving the quality of life for people living with cancer, their carers, family, and friends.
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Cancer Information Specialist Nurse, and are seeking an experienced, flexible, and dynamic NMC registered nurse to join our team.
At Cherry Lodge, we work alongside the clinical care of the NHS in an area centred on Barnet and covering much of North London and South Hertfordshire. We are based at the very friendly and welcoming Cherry Lodge Centre, in Union Street, Chipping Barnet. We also have an Outreach Service with an impact across the borough of Barnet, concentrating particularly on providing information and support to members of black and minority ethnic groups. Our Befriending Service provides additional support for people in their own homes.
Job Purpose:
To act as a specialist information resource for the management of people with cancer, their carers, and families.
To co-ordinate, manage and develop the Cherry Lodge Cancer Care (CLCC) information service by providing assessment, information, support and signposting to people visiting and telephoning the centre. Oversight of interventions and therapies delivered, ensuring the person with cancer/carer/family experience of support feels seamless and is transparent.
To work proactively with primary and secondary care and voluntary sector partners to promote Cherry Lodge Cancer Care and build awareness of the support available for people living with and beyond cancer. This will include further developing relationships with local cancer care providers including the North London Hospice and North Central London Cancer Alliance.
Contribute to the coordination of the day-to-day running of therapy and complementary therapies delivered at CLCC, including mentoring of junior staff and volunteers as necessary. Working in close partnership with the Volunteer Co-ordinator and Befriending Service Lead.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Information/Service Provision
To ensure people with cancer their carers and families/friends gain access to the information they require by providing the following services:
1. To provide one to one sessions where assessment and planning ensures people are able to discuss all information aspects of their illness (symptom management, treatment, and living with cancer).
2. Provide support, access to therapies and signposting to other local services and support services.
3. Provide appropriate psychological support throughout the cancer diagnosis, treatment and follow up pathway, as appropriate and identified by the person with cancer.
4. Facilitate and support nurse/therapy led groups
5. Act as the person with cancer’s advocate, particularly where informed discussion may affect care management options, by ensuring robust links with secondary care Clinical Specialist Nurses.

Black Thrive Global (BTG) evolved from the work of the Black Thrive Lambeth (BTL) Partnership, which was established in 2016. We exist to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and wellbeing of Black people so that the thriving of Black communities is the norm.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to help SARSAS realise it’s vision of a world without sexual violence, through our ambitious strategy to extend our preventive programmes and maintain our essential high-quality services. Through developing and expanding income generated through trust and grants, corporate giving and individual giving, you will help us to be part of the systems change to end gender-based violence.
You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and team leads to understand funding priorities, identify potential funders and donors and develop compelling funding bids, proposals and appeals. This will include collaboration to develop partnership proposals.
You will undertake new prospect research and develop and nurture excellent donor relationships. You will seek opportunities to strengthen and build on existing and lapsed funding relationships and be proactive about identifying further development opportunities.
In order to realise our ambitions, we need to extend our programme of fundraising growth, so we can increase our annual income from circa £3 million to in excess of £3.5 million.

Fundraising delivery and development

- Develop the SARSAS Individual Giving Strategy and support the FunComms Administrator and wider Comms team to design and deliver excellent, engaging and regular communications and powerful fundraising appeals alongside establishing the associated data and systems to grow our income and pool of individual supporters making one off or monthly donations.
- Keep up-to-date and accurate records of fundraising activities and provide quarterly updates to the senior leadership team.
Relationship management and stewardship
- With colleagues, undertake market research and funding insight to identify new prospects and grow our income and pool of supporters.
- Identify and broker relationships with key funders capable of funding against our fundraising priorities, providing high-quality relationship management, using appropriate communication tools and channels to maintain relationships with key individuals and organisations.
- Design and implement generic and bespoke stewardship plans for our current network of donors, working closely with the Communications Team on the development of mailings, reports, and events as necessary.
- Provide advice and support, as necessary, for staff who serve as primary contacts for funders/donors, to ensure that relationships are maintained to a high standard.
- Build strong relationships across SARSAS and work with teams in an integrative way to achieve organisational ambitions.
Planning, monitoring and evaluation
- Working closely with the SLT and relevant managers, develop a funding pipeline, which aligns across all programmes, and collaborate on quarterly update reports for the Board of Trustees and the Finance, Risk & HR Sub-Committee.
- Support SLT/ team leads to define fundraising priorities, ensuring that resources are deployed in a timely, and proportionate manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records to evidence the impact of fundraising activities, including raised income, donor acquisition, donor retention, return on investment, donor engagement metrics, and our fundraising growth rate.
- Oversee full implementation of Donorfy system for fundraising
- Provide high-quality monitoring and evaluation reports.
Staff management
- Provide leadership for your team, inspiring and motivating staff, freelancers and volunteers, setting KPIs, reviewing and improving performance, ensuring fundraising meets/exceeds targets.
- Provide and/or oversee line management of team members, ensuring that professional standards are maintained, and staff wellbeing is supported.
- Ensure that all work adheres to all policies including Safeguarding and Data Protection guidelines.
- Work alongside the HR Officer, to co-ordinate the recruitment of training staff.
Additional information
- Undertake any other duties commensurate within the role including working flexibility to organisational priorities.
- Work as part of a team, promoting the ethos and values of SARSAS.
- Ensure that all work is conducted in line with SARSAS policies and procedures and Rape Crisis England & Wales (RCEW) National Service Standards.
- Attend all training, whether statutory or non-statutory, as required.
- Adhere to SARSAS’s policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in the risk assessment, management of risk process, and all aspects of Health and Safety.

Contract information
Salary: £36,000 pa FTE
Hours: 37 hours per week (or as agreed)
Responsible to: Head of Income Generation (CEO while this post is vacant)
Based: Bristol based with up to 50% working from home
Annual Leave: 27 days + bank holidays (pro-rata)
Contract: Fixed term up to 12 months
