The Role

The Volunteer Coordinator oversees recruitment and retention of volunteers at Rye Harbour ensuring safeguarding requirements are met including DBS checks and references where appropriate. Developing new and innovative approaches to volunteering to attract new volunteers, keeping existing volunteers engaged and promoting diversity in the organisation. Managing volunteer rotas, providing volunteer support and ensuring effective delivery of all volunteer activities. Planning and implementing a range of activities and events to acknowledge and thank volunteers for their contribution. Maintaining and updating existing volunteer data base. Ensuring data retained is relevant and up to date.
The Person

Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for the delivery of Action Tutoring’s tutoring programmes in partner schools, whether online or face to face. This includes working closely to manage all key stakeholders: schools, pupils and volunteer tutors; regularly attending weekly tutoring sessions; leading on reviewing and improving programme delivery, using data to reliably assess programme performance.
- Responsible for overseeing the quality of tutoring, engaging in quality assurance processes, and providing feedback to volunteer tutors to ensure effective and impactful delivery. Provide regular check-ins with tutors to ensure ample support and guidance is given to provide targeted tuition to pupils.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in partner schools, including members of the Senior Leadership Team and subject teachers. Maintain clear and timely communication with relevant school staff, offering regular check-ins with key school stakeholders, and contribute to impact reporting to schools. Supporting the Programme Manager with strategies to retain and sustain school partnerships.
- Update and accurately maintain Action Tutoring’s database, including collecting timely data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, such as attendance records, baseline and interim assessments and pupil surveys. Reporting regularly on key performance indicators to key stakeholders and using them to enhance programme delivery. Work with the Programme Manager on business development, approaching new schools that might be interested in working with Action Tutoring.
- Proactively report to the Programme Manager on the details of Action Tutoring’s operations in their partner schools.

The nature of this role will also require you to demonstrate adaptability, resilience and the ability to cope with some uncertainty.

The Role

Position: S11272 Stroke Support Coordinator
Location: Homebased Bradford, Wakefield and Leeds. However, frequent travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)
Salary: Circa £21,948 per annum (FTE circa £27,400 per annum)
Hours: Part-time, 28 hours per week
Contract: This is a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2026. Our services are contracted, we currently have funding for this contract until 30 June 2026.

The Role
The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors in relation to employment and volunteering.
Reporting to the Stroke Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Support Coordinators will:
- Deliver 6 month post stroke reviews to people affected by stroke
- Provide personalised information, advice and support especially in relation to employment, volunteering and secondary prevention
About You
The post holders will:
- Be motivated and flexible in their approach
- Able to process new information easily
- Have a background in supporting others ideally in health, social care or the voluntary sector
- Be able to demonstrate previous experience of working collaboratively with other professionals and colleagues
- Be confident and able to use IT systems including data bases

Work with the Programme Manager on business development, approaching new schools that might be interested in working with Action Tutoring.

Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey has been established for over 100 years. We enable and empower people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted, and deafblind to overcome barriers and to be as independent as possible.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Children and Young People’s Service. The team enables and empowers children, young people and families to thrive, by providing a variety of vibrant and impactful services, activities and events.
This role would suit someone who enjoys and is skilled at supporting families to overcome barriers they face as a result of having a disabled child, including providing one to one support, practical assistance, and group workshops. Candidates should have experience of working with children, young people and families in a support role.
Key responsibilities
· Ensure parent carers have someone to work alongside them to help to overcome barriers they are facing as a family as a result of their child/’s sensory impairment.
· Provide practical assistance (such as letter writing and attending meetings with a parent carer) where this is needed. This will include assisting with the Education & Health Care Plan (EHCP) to ensure it accurately reflects their needs.
· To assess and identify when the needs of the children and their families are not being met and work with parents, other professionals, and organisations as appropriate to address the issues with the aim of ensuring that the children have the opportunities and environments that will enable them to reach their potential and achieve their aspirations.
· Reduce loneliness and social isolation for parent carers by both connecting them with wider parent carer support services, and by organising and facilitating opportunities for them to come together, such as through drop-in events at community café’s and parent led support groups.
· Empower and enable parent carers to have the knowledge, skills, confidence, and support they need to advocate for their child/children through organising group training workshops and development around specific topics, creating and sharing resources that will help, and through our Power to The Parents event.
