The Role

As the Chief Business Improvement and Technology Officer, you will lead efforts in quality, assurance and compliance, business reporting, and technology and digital transformation. You’ll ensure services are high-performing, compliant, and continuously improving, and that systems and insights support everything from frontline care to national campaigning. This role is a key member of that team, working alongside the Deputy Chief Executive, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Finance Officer, and Chief People Officer. Together, you will shape the organisation’s strategy, culture, and delivery.

About You

We are looking for someone with senior leadership experience in technology, digital, data, or business improvement within a care, support, health, or social impact organisation. With proven ability to develop business improvement strategies (for example, quality, technology, data) that enhance frontline service and wider programme and practice delivery and user experience, you will have a strong track record of building and embedding organisational data and insight functions that inform both operational decisions and external campaigning and influencing.

You will have experience of:

• Technology, data, or business improvement in the charity, health, or social care sectors.
• Overseeing IT infrastructure, and/or digital platforms, and/or cyber security in a multi-site or distributed service environment.
• Deep understanding of data protection, compliance, quality assurance, and governance.
• Using data and digital tools to support and improve service delivery, and/or policy development, campaigning, and public engagement.

We’re recruiting an enthusiastic leader to drive six‑figure, multi‑year deals across major donors, trusts, foundations, and corporates, with an ambitious goal to grow income from £1.6M to £4.5M by FY30, in line with our strategic roadmap.

Job Purpose

As Director of Partnerships, you will:

•  Lead on partnerships fundraising, including major donors, trusts & foundations, and corporates with a focus on securing six-figure multi-year agreements to significantly grow funds raised in this area from £1.6 million to £4.5 million by FY30, in line with Operation Smile UK’s multi-year strategy.
• Foster and facilitate collaboration across different departments within OSUK.
• Ensure business as usual is achieved in line with operational plans, while also exploring and implementing innovative initiatives and campaigns to ensure the future success of partnerships' fundraising.
• Represent OSUK at a leadership level, building relationships with industry peers and peers within the Operation Smile global team to ensure best practice across all areas.

Key Responsibilities

Philanthropy Leadership

• Leads strategy, planning and operation of the major gift, trusts & foundations and corporate giving channels.
• Develops annual business plans and budgets in collaboration with the Executive Director (ED) and Executive Team.  
• Strategically identifies and qualifies potential new donors to grow the prospect pipeline.
• Prepares development communications: solicitation and acknowledgement letters; case statements and proposals; stewardship reports; briefing notes; gift agreements.
• Identifies, cultivates, and solicits major gift commitments from high-net-worth individuals
• Monitors activity of the team, ensuring that benchmarks are achieved, including submission of solicitations, donor contacts and meetings, confirmations of donations, and other performance indicators as related to the team checking their portfolio.
• Provides the organisation with the interpretation of market trends and emerging issues that could impact the organisation’s partnerships fundraising stream.
• Ensures the effective collection of donor information and tracking of points of contact in accordance with best practices; provides and presents statistical analysis to senior leaders.
• Leads on data mining, prospect research, and ensuring the quality of data as it relates to the donors they work with.
• Develops and manages relationships within their own portfolio, personally conducting cultivation visits, solicitation calls and stewardship activities as required.
• Effectively manages fundraising resources and practices ethical fundraising.

HR Management

• Leads, mentors, and manages a team; regular meetings to provide direction, coaching and delegation to the partnerships team.

Financial Management

• Manages and implements approved business plans, ensuring that the annual revenue objectives and budget are met or exceeded, and oversight of the partnership’s departmental budgets.
• Provides leadership in the delivery of statistical analysis, projections, and detailed reports on partnerships fundraising goals and performance that may be used to contribute to the development of internal budgets.

Partnership Sustainability

• Develops donor relationships by researching, sourcing, cultivating, and stewarding existing and potential partners.
• Works to broaden sources of revenue, including working with corporate partners in various industries.
• Develops and implements a stewardship program aimed at cultivating deeper ties with donors and corporate partners.
• Contributes innovative ideas to the development of new strategic partnerships and alternative revenue streams.

Other

• Other duties as assigned by the ED.
• Meetings with OSI and partner countries.
• Board reports/board meetings as required.

About the role:

When a family member sustains a spinal cord injury it is a life changing experience for the whole family. They can feel very isolated and that no one understands what they’re going through.

Back Up’s Family Support Service is there to help. We enable a wide range of family members of all ages whose loved one is affected by spinal cord injury (SCI) to improve their wellbeing, build a support network and transform their lives through Back Up’s services. 

The Family Support Coordinator will assist in supporting family members on an individual basis as well as in group settings as appropriate, together with providing support in the process of identifying, recruiting and training new family support volunteers.

A Family Support Coordinator will be comfortable and efficient with data management and GDPR compliance.

Lived experience of having a relative with SCI is essential, together with sharing our commitment to transform the lives of everyone affected by spinal cord injury.

About Galop’s Policy and Evidence work

This is a hugely exciting time to be joining Galop, with flexibility to think long term about how best to drive change and do something new and different. Whilst Galop has always advocated for policy change, this role is part of a new, growing team specifically focused on evidence-based policy change. The team is led by the Director of Policy and Evidence and composed of a Research Manager, Survivor Engagement Manager, Policy Officer and this Research Officer role.

The Training Lead - Projects & DFTP (Digital First Transformation Programme) will design, develop and deliver training strategies and plans that successfully support and empower stakeholders to adopt new systems, products, processes and ways of working that align to the MHFA England strategy. The postholder will provide business partnering support to all directorates, working with directors, strategic leads, business SMEs and external stakeholders to identify training needs that will lead to high levels of change readiness and adoption. • Oversee the development and implementation of MEL systems, working with the MEL Officer and Programme Managers

Person Specification

Essential

• At least one year’s experience in a senior management or leadership role

• At least three years’ experience managing programmes or projects in relevant areas

• Experience developing and delivering programme or organisational strategies

• Experience overseeing service delivery in areas such as advice, education, youth or community work

• Experience managing and supporting staff

• Experience leading or supporting monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL), with a strong understanding of how MEL supports learning and improvement

• Good understanding of UK employment law, HR best practice, health and safety, data protection and safeguarding

• Good understanding of finance and budget management in a small-to-medium charity

• Awareness of charity governance and the wider UK charity sector

• Ability to collect, interpret and use data to support learning and improve impact

• Strong planning, coordination and organisational skills

• Excellent time management – able to multitask, prioritise and meet deadlines

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish, or English and Portuguese

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the Business Partnering team, the People Business Partner will build constructive working relationships with a portfolio of executive directors, senior and middle managers in support of the achievement of shared organisational objectives, partnering leaders and managers to turn their people plans into reality and address issues that may hinder performance and service delivery. What will I be doing?

• Coordinating the operational set-up and delivery of fundraising campaigns and events, including fulfilment coordination, supplier liaison, supporter data processes, and internal briefings

• Supporting the Operations Manager with identifying opportunities to simplify or optimise operational approaches, embedding feedback and best practices to evolve ways of working and drive things forward for the Do Proposition and wider department

• Supporting the continuous improvement and documentation of systems, workflows, and reporting tools to enhance efficiency and operational quality across fundraising activity

• Managing day-to-day financial operations such as raising purchase orders, receipting payments and managing invoices

• Ensuring all products in the Do Proposition are set up with appropriate supporter and income data processes in line with Team standards, GDPR and data governance requirements

• Building strong relationships across teams to support knowledge sharing, internal communications, and F&EP wide Operations collaboration through the Community of Practice.

What skills will I need?

• Proven ability to drive process improvements and proactively solve problems

• Strong organisational and administrative skills; comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement

• Experience with financial administration and supplier coordination

• Sound knowledge of data protection practices and an eye for detail
