We’re looking for an enthusiastic, highly organised and proactive People Assistant to join a fast-paced, friendly People Team.
Position: POD39 People Assistant – Recruitment
Location: Home-based, UK, Nationwide. However, occasional travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)
Salary: Circa £25,900 per annum (inner London weighting £3,950 per annum or outer London weighting £2,275 per annum may be applied in accordance with where you live)
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week worked over 5 days a week, Monday to Friday. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept applications from those seeking reduced hours.

The Role
Focusing mainly within the recruitment side of practice, you will act as the first point of contact for all recruitment related queries while supporting managers through the recruitment and onboarding process. This is an exciting time to join the team as you will play a key role in supporting the implementation of a brand new Applicant Tracking System.
You’ll also have the opportunity to support the wider People team, as and when needed, with general HR related queries, including absence and volunteering.
Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of our People team, you will play a central role in delivering a smooth and efficient recruitment experience for all involved. Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the first point of contact for all recruitment related queries while monitoring all recruitment inboxes.
- Acting as the primary support for all recruitment administration including requesting right to work checks, drafting offer letters and contracts and requesting references.
- Advertising job and volunteer adverts both internally and externally
- Liaising with recruitment agencies as and when needed.
- Supporting the implementation of our new applicant tracking system (ATS), helping to streamline and modernise our recruitment processes.
- Raising purchase orders and managing goods receipting processes.
- Maintaining accurate HR systems and databases, including updating recruitment trackers and personnel records.
- Working closely with the People Advisor to ensure a seamless, supportive, and efficient People function across the organisation.
About You
You are a proactive, detail-oriented professional with:
- Proven experience in HR administration, with a focus on recruitment.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with ease.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills—you thrive in a people-focused environment and build positive relationships at all levels.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- A CIPD Level 3 qualification (or working towards).
- Confident IT skills, including use of HR systems or databases.

About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join and lead a driven team of Volunteering Partners. The Volunteering Partnerships and Implementation team strive to inspire, support and enable a quality offer and experience for volunteers and volunteer managers. Through working directly with the Dementia Support and Partnerships directorate (who deliver our services), you will be making a difference to volunteers, volunteer managers and people affected by dementia.

About the role:
Respect is seeking two Helplines Advisors to provide support to male victims of domestic abuse on the Men’s Advice Line and perpetrators of domestic abuse on the Respect Phoneline.
You will support service users by phone, email and webchat, providing emotional support, practical advice, information on the available options, and signposting to other services. As well as work with male victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse in ways that support them to increase safety and reduce harm, as described in the Models of Work and relevant policies and procedures.
About you:
- An understanding of the nature of domestic abuse and its effects on victims, in particular male victims
- An understanding of the help-seeking barriers for male victims of domestic abuse
- An understanding of the reasons why perpetrators use abusive behaviours towards partners in relationships
- Experience of providing information, advice, and support by telephone, email and webchat in a helpline environment
- A commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and an approach that centres survivors, in particular Black and minoritised survivors.

About the role:
The Team Leader will lead on the delivery of the Triage Model in their pilot area/s, providing support, case management and supervision for the Triage Worker and IDVA roles. Job Description
The Healthcare Partnerships Lead will be responsible for the delivery of our Healthcare Engagement Strategy, through the development and delivery of projects and activities which embrace collaboration, raise the profile and credibility of both the Overcoming MS charity and Program, and extend supported self- management of MS within the health and social sector. We want to be the go-to charity for lifestyle and living well with MS and to demonstrate the added value we bring through education, resources, community and partnership working.
The past 12 months have seen the laying of a strong foundation for both increasing credibility and collaboration. This has included identifying barriers to supporting self-management in MS, developing education, piloting projects and resources to overcome some of those barriers in partnership with healthcare professionals. Honing datasets and presenting these meaningfully, has added credibility and demonstrated value. We want to see that foundation built on further, and shared more widely, taken forward by the new Healthcare Partnerships Lead.
Key Responsibilities
· The successful delivery of the Healthcare Engagement Strategy, identifying and prioritising engagement with our key audiences and stakeholders.
· Working closely with both our Medical Advisor, Information and Research Manager (new role) and with the existing HCP Advisory Group and wider engaged healthcare partners, to facilitate the development of the relationship, profile and reach between the charity and the health and social care sectors. Around information sharing, service design, and understanding of the role of lifestyle in holistic management of MS.
· Identifying and attending key healthcare events and conferences, building networks, partnerships and other resources to increase knowledge and awareness of how the charity and Overcoming MS Program, benefits people with MS and maximise opportunities for signposting.
· Building frameworks for data gathering and evaluation to effectively review benefit of collaborative interventions and report outcomes widely and meaningfully, in partnership with the Information and Research Manager.
· Maintaining understanding of policy and priorities of healthcare agencies to ensure mutual or aligned priorities from both, in addition to people living with MS, are all factors taken into consideration when developing plans and pathways.
· Identifying opportunities for collaboration and partnership working through engagement with HCP professionals and organisations.
· Lead on healthcare education through our existing partnership with the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine, marketing the education widely, evaluating its benefit to HCPs and strategically reviewing the format, vehicle and content as appropriate.
· Providing clear, responsive and consistent educational content around the importance of lifestyle choices and behaviours to healthcare professionals based on the current evidence-base and the Overcoming MS Program, working closely with the Information & Research Manager to ensure up-to-date and validated content.
Other Responsibilities
· Creating meaningful engagement with the MS community and healthcare professional partners, widening our reach to support more people with MS.
· Mapping local assets and services to target and test appropriate resources and support to MS clinics, to help HCPs share information and support their patients to self-manage, tracking success.
· Empowering people affected by MS and their healthcare professionals to discuss lifestyle modification and the Overcoming MS Program with confidence, improving self-management and health outcomes.
· Engaging new HCP audiences, reducing barriers and perceptions of lifestyle modification in the treatment of MS.
· Leading on the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of key programmes, considering key insight, collecting and analysing data to measure impact against project and charity targets.
· Supporting the delivery of key products, services and events both in person and online that reach multiple audiences and budgeting accordingly.
· Identifying opportunities for accessing funding streams, working with Fundraising colleagues to diversify our income base.
· Raising our profile within the healthcare environment so that they recommend the charity and will advocate on our behalf.
· As we are a small, busy charity, all staff help with the general running of the organisation in addition to their specific role activities.
About you
Education or experience in a related field e.g. healthcare management, public health, you’ll have a strong understanding of the NHS, Public Health and the UK health care policy landscape. Knowledge of the global health care landscape would be an advantage but not essential.
You’ll have previous experience as a senior healthcare lead or similar role for example within the NHS or similar medical field or will have experience leading community or public health related engagement programmes.
With excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, including working with stakeholders at very senior and professional levels, you’ll have strategic analytical skills, able to frame problems and solutions in a logical fashion and demonstrate a high degree of empathy and compassion for health-related issues.
You’ll have intellectual flexibility, able to embrace and deal with ambiguity, complexity and to be open to creativity in leading and bringing about effective change.
You are comfortable working remotely and attending events during evenings and weekends, with a full UK driving licence and access to a car.

Responsibilities
In this role you will have 6 key responsibilities:
Financial: Managing a portfolio of high-value relationships and to deliver income at the agreed annual target in the first year with an expectation this will rise year on year.
Management: You will be one of the first points of contact internally for trusts/foundations and individual major donors (IMD) related queries and will work in accordance with the major giving team strategic plan and existing procedures, practices and standards.
Relationship:You will seek to actively develop and manage excellent relationships with an agreed portfolio of trusts/foundations and IMD capable of donating a minimum of £25,000 or more as a single gift each year. In addition you will need to:
- Develop and implement professionally written action plans which will engage, inform and nurture prospects and donors to deliver gifts at the agreed level.
- Undertake timely administration to capture and record knowledge of supporters within the customer relationship management database. Work with the organisation’s systems team to utilise this information to enhance applications and giving levels
- Pro-actively develop relationships with key stakeholders within the MAF organisation(s)
- Present MAF proposals alone or with others, (member of the operational field team, CEO etc), to prospects and donors.
- Participate in events to develop relationships with donors, inviting individuals from portfolios where appropriate and co-ordinate visits to MAF overseas operations where appropriate to introduce these donors directly to the work of MAF.
Information: Information management and analytical thinking is essential as you will present detailed, accurate and high-quality fundraising proposals to prospects and donors, ensuring any specific deadlines or funding windows are complied with. In addition you will need to:
- Ensure that donors are thanked appropriately for their gifts with timely and appropriate reports, letters and phone call.
- Provide timely ‘report backs’ that are appropriate/agreed with each donor, to evidence effective use of funding and to encourage the opportunity to make further applications based on good stewardship and achievement of agreed outcomes.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge, and the funding priority, of projects available for funding by trusts/foundations supporters and prospects.
- Actively seeking to grow the trusts/foundations portfolio and income through the use of research
- Attending regular appropriate training courses, external forums and networks to ensure continuous personal development
Major Donor team (practice/ procedures/training):As a key member of the team you will need to ensure procedures and standards are developed/maintained to ensure we are effective and compliant with any legislation/regulation.
CRM Database: To provide support to the Partnership Executive, who will be the team’s CRM database lead and maintain a thorough working understanding of MAF UK’s CRM system in order to answer specific team queries. You will need to support the teams day-to-day CRM activities including producing reports, importing data, adding activities, amending details and any other relevant tasks

Benefits:
- Salary: £42,000 per annum depending upon experience
- Hours: This role is full time, 36 hours per week
- Pension: MAF UK provides a non-contributory pension scheme for staff of 10% salary on joining
- Annual leave entitlement: 22 days per year plus 8 statutory paid public holidays per year (including those falling at Christmas and New Year).
Location: This role can be based at the MAF UK Offices in Scotland, Glasgow, or optionally could be in the Oxford, Cambridge arc as we are launching a new hub in the Milton Keynes area, maximising our engagement with a thriving local aerospace and charity sector region. Up to two days a week in our Folkstone Office might be initially required.We welcome hybrid working in line with our flexible working policy, the needs of the business, the requirements of the role and your location.
