Your role
Your role is to provide vital administrative support to the people and culture team, specifically relating to HR, which includes recruitment, onboarding and contract administration. About The Role
As a Grants and Learning Officer, you’ll be helping us to deliver our ambitious, nationwide grants programme. We currently support over 500 grassroots organisations and 18-30 year old creatives, and have a busy grants cycle to manage, alongside ever-increasing numbers of applications.
This year, we’re building and migrating to a new grants database and you’ll play an integral role on the project team. In addition, you’ll manage an assigned portfolio of grants, and help with all aspects of the funding cycle. Key Responsibilities
Grant Making
- Relationship management for a diverse portfolio of grants within allocated areas or specialisms.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the music/creative landscape and issues affecting your allocated areas.

Specific responsibilities
An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:
- To sort HES inbound post, ensuring items are passed to the correct team or staff member.
- To coordinate HES outbound post requests, collating and printing information to send to households.
- To speak to households by telephone and triage households to appropriate HES projects.
- To book home visits for advisors and retrofit assessors, keeping calendars up to date with appointments, cancellations, and amendments. Accurately completing the home visits risk assessment when required.
- To assist with householder applications for grants and other funding schemes. Contacting clients to complete forms or collate paperwork or electronic evidence.
- To record client details and follow HES team guidance documents to assess the help and support needed.
- To update our client databases and other contact management systems accurately.
- Support the internal and external training programmes, such as booking inductions for new starters, distributing training materials after training sessions and making sure evaluations are completed.
- Help provide HR support for HES staff, through processing annual leave requests or sending appraisal reminders.
- Oversee the smooth running of HES processes, such as the complaints procedure or keep track of subscription packages.
- Maintain stocks of leaflets, factsheets, freepost envelopes, and similar items, including organising printing where needed.
- Take minutes during team meetings and share any actions.

Some of the Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate service and subcontractor meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, distributing papers, and taking accurate minutes with clear actions (in-person or via Teams).
- Manage and arrange mandatory training for Barnardo's colleagues, ensuring compliance and providing regular updates to service leads.
- Liaise across teams to support quality and competency compliance.
- Lead internal communications within the service.
- Update FEEE2 eligibility and assign caseloads using monthly ECC reports on Systm1.
- Produce regular FEEE2 reports from service user records and ECC data.

The role
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Systems Administrator.
As the IT System Administrator, you will be responsible for the development, administration and optimisation of Cruse’s Microsoft 365 environment and wider IT cloud infrastructure.
Working closely with the Head of IT, and the wider Digital Services team of 5 staff, you will ensure our systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with the needs of our staff and volunteers.
Cruse operates a cloud IT infrastructure providing IT services to staff and volunteers based across the UK and Northern Ireland. Microsoft 365 is the main IT service, but there will also be other IT systems you will need to become familiar with in this role.
Cruse makes use of a managed services IT support provider and numerous application and service provider support teams; you will be required to work with these teams making sure our issues are resolved quickly and with minimum disruption.
As part of your role, you will be involved in BAU and project work and be comfortable with competing priorities and pressures.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to advance their technical skills and experience. Where they will have input into the development of the IT systems, working with an experienced and dedicated Head of IT and digital team, for a charity that is investing in its digital strategy and services.
