What the job involves
We have an opportunity for a Senior Strategic Communications (Campaigns) Officer to join our Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand team. You’ll work closely with the Strategic Communications (Campaigns) Manager to successfully plan and deliver major strategic campaigns and key brand moments, taking the lead on day-to-day project management to keep everything coordinated and running smoothly.
As a Senior Strategic Communications (Campaigns) Officer you’ll take responsibility for developing content for allocated big-ticket campaigns and brand moments, ensuring all content is consistent with our brand and tone of voice. The campaigns you’ll be working on will revolve around our brand, high value fundraising and priority campaigns seeking to drive change. You’ll develop content marketing strategies that will tell stories to reach our key audiences. Our current campaigns focus on reaching more men so they can make informed choices about their prostate cancer risk, while also working to reduce health inequalities and better engage Black men, a community disproportionately affected by prostate cancer.
Collaboration is a big part of this role. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll help shape high-impact content marketing strategies and integrate key messages across the organisation. You’ll also support the development of creative content for key partnerships and campaigns, ensuring content aligns with our brand and campaign objectives.

Position: Programme Officer
Reporting to: Senior Programme Manager
Location: Sidcup, Greater London, and hybrid working of 1 day in the office and 4 days remote (subject to change)

The Programme Officer will work closely with both the project teams and the wider organisation to support the effective management and delivery of projects across from our London office.
Purpose
The Programme Officer will be responsible for supporting the effective implementation of project delivery activities across our portfolio, predominantly in Africa, Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East. The post holder will support project delivery, ensuring quality expectations (internal and client), delivering within the scope and budgeted resources of projects, and in line with project timelines. They will work closely with other members of the programme delivery team, our technical team, delivery partners, and consultants to ensure projects maximise their positive impact and will also support the Senior Programme Manager to disseminate good management practice across the organisation, and advise on delivery approaches.
Main Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Programme Officer include the following:
1. Project Support
- Provide support to Programme Managers in the delivery of projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and scope and comply with client contracts
- Take on the project management of assigned select projects within a determined budget/complexity threshold, ensuring that they are delivered to time and quality
- Set-up and monitor project workplans, including change requests ensuring that approvals are formally recorded and filed
- Manage day-to-day relationships with delivery partners and internal team(s) and build a solid understanding of delivery needs and timelines across projects
- Monitor and support timely client and consultant billing and invoices attached to delivery
- Support onboarding of consultants for new projects, including due diligence checks and contract preparation based on set templates
- Ensure project management software and tools are accurate and kept up to date for allocated projects
- Provide timely responses to client queries and alert the Senior Project Manager of any potential risks
- Lead duty of care and travel planning for staff and consultants, working alongside administrative officers
- Liaise closely with technical colleagues and Project Managers on project support needs.
2. Project Financial Management
- Monitor project budget performance, capturing variances and liaising with the Finance Team and Senior Programme Manager
- Monitor and support the processing of consultants’ expenses/fees against contracts and client invoices against contracts.
- Make recommendations to ensure financial outcomes are met with respect to time, quality and cost, and provide early warning of project overspend
- Prepare internal project update reporting including finances and resourcing using required management tools.
3. Organisational Support and Business Development
- Provide support in strengthening policies, procedures, and management tools for Development Pathways
- Coordinate with wider project teams to ensure technical capacity is well planned across Development Pathways’ portfolio of projects
- Signpost colleagues to relevant project management tools and processes, when required
- Support project closure processes as required, capturing and sharing lessons internally
- Provide ad hoc input to evolving organisational requirements as directed by senior members
- Assist with the identification and monitoring of business opportunities in donor markets, as requested
- Update SharePoint and ensure project data sheets are developed and up to date to facilitate bids for tenders
- Collate and share project information to support the Business Development and Communications department.
Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours
The Programme Officer will require the following combination of applied skills, knowledge, and behaviours to successfully contribute to team goals:
Required:
- An undergraduate degree in an appropriate subject
- Around 3 years’ experience working on project support or delivery within international development, research and/or the consultancy sector
- Ability and confidence to work independently and manage their own workflows
- Good communication skills and an ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders at the individual level and in representation of the organisation
- Excellent drafting skills
- Ability to understand and effectively analyse and utilise financial information
- Proven ability to resolve problems, anticipate barriers and create practical solutions
- High IT proficiency (Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.)
- Demonstrated attention to detail ensuring quality standards are maintained
- Ability to travel internationally when required.

At the Alliance for a Cavity-Free Future (ACFF) we are dedicated to helping the billions of people worldwide suffering from untreated caries. This suffering disproportionately affects people from disadvantaged population groups and costs the global economy an estimated $245 billion USD.
We work for better oral health for all through a number of interconnected programmes including advocating at global conferences and meetings, local groundwork throughout 28 volunteer Chapters, designing and recommending better oral health policies for national governments through our Policy Labs and more.
We are looking for a freelance Director of Operations and Finance to work for an average of 4 days a week for a total of 180 days a year. They will be part of the senior leadership team alongside the Chief Strategy and Advocacy Officer and the Chair of the Board of Trustees.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
● Deliver our Operations and Finance KPIs as outlined in the Charity’s strategy; as well as being jointly responsible for the successful implementation of the full strategy.
● Lead and shape the Operations department, making sure it’s fit for purpose and maximising resources.
● Work collaboratively with senior management to maximise the success of the charity.
● Work closely and liaise regularly with the Chief Strategy & Advocacy Officer
● Work closely with the Chair of Trustees to ensure sound charity governance and compliance with HMRC and OSCR regulations.

People Management

About you
Essential Criteria

Impact and Insights Officer x 2
These are two unique roles to be impact catalysts across four of Youth Zone locations: Carlisle, Wigan, Wolverhampton and Barnet (London), generating support and building towards a ‘culture of impact’ in all four Youth Zone organisations such that outcome measurement and impact reporting becomes routine and ‘every day’.
Position: Impact and Insights Officer – 2 positions available
Location: Home-working combined with a minimum of 8 days per month across the 2 Youth Zones.
One role will support Carlise and Unitas Youth Zones and the other will support Wigan and Wolverhampton Youth Zones (travel expenses will be covered as part of the package)

About the Role
You will lead on data analysis and reporting on the data held in Salesforce CRM, improving both the quality and quantity of monitoring and evaluation processes, driving improvements in data capture through training and upskilling the Youth Work team, strengthening the ability of the four Youth Zones to demonstrate the measurable impact of youth work delivered.
You will also be responsible for measuring and demonstrating the charities’ impact to stakeholders; authoring and providing the necessary data to the leadership and fundraising teams and Board (as required), annual publications such as Trustees Reports and annual Impact Reports. Innovation is a key aspect of this role, involving the introduction and embedding of new methodologies to enhance the qualitative data capture process.
You will collaborate closely with a cross section of teams within the Youth Zones, working with the Youth Work delivery teams to feed data into decision making, and with the Communications and Fundraising teams to provide impact measurement and analysis content for use with stakeholders and in donor reporting. Furthermore, it will align impact and data work with national and local policy, and use national census, health, police and other statistical data to position the four Youth Zones for new income generation opportunities.
About You
These two roles are ideal for someone who has the ability to bring technical analysis to life in a youth work setting and can communicate insights in an accessible style to different audiences. The Impact and Insights Officer should be passionate about embracing the power of youth work and be keen to support Youth Zones in evidencing the impact created with young people. It will require someone who can bring impact expertise and creativity to create buy-in and drive improvements in data capture; and someone who is keen to work flexibly and closely with teams of passionate Youth Workers and who is unafraid of the challenge presented by Youth Zones in four very different geographic locations.

SteelWatch offers a unique opportunity for an expert in steel decarbonisation with a passion for driving climate action. If you can communicate your technical analysis to challenge legacy steelmakers with clarity and conviction, this role is for you.
In this new role as SteelWatch Industry Decarbonisation Lead, you will have the opportunity to deepen and articulate the arguments of SteelWatch, providing vigilant scrutiny and an international voice for steel decarbonisation.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and natural collaborator who combines technical understanding of steel decarbonisation internationally with an ability to spot trends and their significance in data and detail. The role could be an ideal next step for professionals coming from consultancy, decarbonisation initiatives, companies in the iron and steel value chain, trade associations, international agencies, and civil society.
Summary of the role
The Industry Decarbonisation Lead will shape SteelWatch’s position on steel decarbonisation to inform our change-making strategies, provide overall management and cohesion across our work on data analysis and industry insight, and act as a spokesperson in conversation with industry stakeholders.

Role and Responsibilities
The Industry Decarbonisation Lead is a new role, which will work in close collaboration with colleagues across the organisation and is fundamental to the long-term strategy of SteelWatch to transform the iron and steel industry. The core purpose of the role is to cultivate our collective ability to harness credible evidence for our campaigns, and to engage effectively with industry with an ambitious well-informed vision for decarbonisation.
For the initial year(s), there are three main areas of responsibility.
- The Lead will be responsible for navigating and shaping SteelWatch’s positions and point of view on relevant issues regarding steel decarbonisation with a goal of driving long term transition to near-zero emissions steelmaking.
- The Lead will be responsible for managing and shaping our range of work on data, evidence, insights and analysis -with the team members involved - to ensure the quality and relevance of our evidence base and our industry intelligence.
- The Lead will be one of the key spokespeople for the organisation, particularly in industry dialogue and events. The role will report to the Executive Director and is likely to line-manage 1-3 people.
Success for this role will depend on close collaboration with others in SteelWatch including the:
- Steel Analyst, and other team members and consultants working on data and analysis;
- Campaigns Teams, ensuring campaigns are well evidenced, informed and targeted on the critical issues.
- Communications Team, ensuring everything that we externally communicate is consistent and credible, as accuracy is key in our role to speak truth to power.
- Executive Director, sharing the work of representation of SteelWatch externally and updating our arguments as the steel industry evolves.
Responsibilities
1. Shape, evolve and articulate SteelWatch’s positions and point of view on steel decarbonisation:
SteelWatch already has a strong point of view (POV) on many of the core elements of the iron and steel transition. However, the POV needs to be continually reviewed in the light of new developments, on occasion adapted, and extended to new emerging issues. Sharpening the POV is a collaborative process - the Industry Decarbonisation Lead will be responsible for steering and landing this process. The Lead will:
- Ensure the POV is constantly evolved,improved and adapted through collaboration, guiding the process and landing the outcome;
- Ensure the POV is clearly articulated and socialised internally and externally with allies.
2. Manage and shape our range of work on data, industry trends, and analysis.
SteelWatch currently has in-depth data and news tracking on two companies, the targets of our corporate campaigns. We track iron and steel industry news and analyse industry announcements. We are developing our capacity to react to steel news globally, track blast furnaces investments and other announcements, and rate and rank companies. The Industry Decarbonisation Lead will, in collaboration with the Steel Analyst:
- Shape and prioritise our work on gathering data, tracking industry news, and analysing industry strategies, to support and inform the priorities of the organisation, and ensure we make best use of the information in our campaigns.
- Build capacity within SteelWatch to do this consistently across our growing portfolio of work.
- Ensure the quality and relevance of our evidence base, and the processes we have for updating and using it.
- Continue to build our capacity to assess industry announcements and to use that analysis effectively for pressure.
- Scope, support, and lead projects that are data analysis projects, and hold responsibility for the data analysis component of other projects/campaigns. These are likely to include, corporate scorecard, blast furnace trackers, and data visualisation.
3. Ensure relevance, consistency and accuracy in our external communications.
Our external communications are based on credible evidence and SteelWatch’s POV combined with core narrative (responsibility of the Comms team), and campaign arguments and tactics (responsibility of the Campaigns Team). Working closely with the Steel Analyst who currently is the ‘source of truth’ and fact-checker, the Industry Decarbonisation Lead will:
- Ensure all external outputs are factually correct, credible and in line with our point of view.
- Develop processes and materials that increase technical understanding and consistency across team members and amongst those we communicate most closely with (eg allies, core media).
- Ensure robust processes are in place for fact-checking.
- Lead the development of our series of SteelWatch Explainers to present key concepts in accessible form among allies and industry.
- Support the Communications and Campaign teams to assess what reactive news to prioritise, and to respond quickly and accurately.
- Strengthen our ability to brief and correct journalists, dealing with their misunderstandings around iron and steel.
4. Act as spokesperson for SteelWatch in industry dialogue.
SteelWatch is vigilant and challenging to the steel industry. Our tone of voice varies from the creative campaigns, to the engaged dialogue. The Industry Decarbonisation Lead is expected to communicate externally and directly in dialogue, in writing and especially with the industry stakeholders at conferences, in private meetings or via social media. The lead is not the only voice of the organisation, but should be a focal point in building consistency. They will:
- Attend industry events and discussions, representing SW point of view and strengthening our industry connections;
- Speak at industry events, speak to the media where appropriate.
- Produce high quality written materials, support those written by colleagues, and support high quality data visualisation that communicates our messages.
- Engage actively on LinkedIn (and/or other social media) to respond to industry commentary and engage as SteelWatch.
5. Build relations with industry
SteelWatch is building relations with industry actors, both to share our views and ensure we are up to date on latest trends. The Lead will:
- Through industry events, networks and dialogue, strengthening our industry connections;
- Build relations with industry to acquire up to date information, and increase our ability to sense-check news and respond to trends.
- Keep abreast of industry conversations in order to identify the most relevant shifts, key topics or opportunities for SteelWatch to create pressure for change.
- Support others in SteelWatch to engage with industry, particularly in other regions and languages than your own.
6. Provide line management and task management to team members engaged in data and analysis.
SteelWatch currently has a mixture of long-term and short-term or part-time staff and consultants working on data, tracking and analysis. They are managed by different team members. The Industry Decarbonisation Lead will:
- Set objectives and define tasks for the data team, in line with overall SteelWatch strategy and plans, as they evolve. Provide line management for core data team members.
- Manage consultants focused on data or analysis, adapting TORs and finding new consultants as needed;
- Ensure synergy across the various team members and their work.
Essential skills and experience
- Ten or more years of experience in industry, energy, and/or decarbonisation, of which at least 2 years focused on the steel industry.
- In-depth knowledge of steel decarbonisation pathways, current trends, the challenges and opportunities.
- Proven ability to manage and interpret data, and to use data for powerful arguments.
- Excellent writing and communication skills in English, a talent for conveying complex ideas in understandable ways.
- Proven capacity to build collaboration with non-technical colleagues and enhance organisational capacity to use data and evidence.
Desired skills and experience
- Experience working across a range of topics, projects and tasks, juggling short-term deadlines and long-term priorities.
- We are particularly interested in candidates that bring deep expertise in the energy transition, and/or in financial analysis of companies' approach to decarbonisation, as these would complement existing skills.
- Knowledge of steel decarbonisation across different geographies, particularly including countries of Asia.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Country location
This role is open to candidates working in timezones UTC -1 to UTC +4 and in countries in which it is possible to have a 2-year fixed term employment contract with an Employer of Record. Location and remote working and travel
- Location: work location is remote from your home base. Staff members work remotely and online on a daily basis.

Working conditions and benefits

- The initial contract period will be up to 24 months with a possibility to renew, depending on country regulations. The type of contract will depend on the location.

- Remuneration is according to SteelWatch norms, level of experience and location of employment. For a technical expert in this Lead role, a Netherlands-based salary is in the range of €72,000 - 92,000. Salaries are adjusted by location.

We are looking for an outgoing and self-motivated individual to help drive and develop vision, mission and strategy to progress the youth work of both the Schools and College Pastors initiatives under the Ascension Trust umbrella and as lead for the Synergy Network.
The focus in this role:
- Coordinating and supporting the Schools and College Pastor initiatives and developing strategies to grow and strengthen the work of our teams and also to promote the network and collaborations with other organisations.
- Enthuse and engage with stakeholders who want to work to combat serious youth violence, including faith groups, police and public sector.
- Develop and implement a future strategy for School and College Pastors and the Synergy Network.
- Develop funding bids for future initiatives such as the prevention of serious youth violence, working with the Youth Endowment Fund, Violence Reduction Units, and developing funding streams for the School and College Pastor initiatives with appropriate funding bodies.
- Develop vision, strategy and training for growth in new and existing initiatives.
- Develop and maintain a communications strategy for the Synergy Network, including events organisation, website and social media maintenance.
- Support the Synergy Network board by organising events, maintaining the website and social media platforms.
- This is a role that allows for flexibility and creativity in approach with training and support available to grow the individual in post.

Every day, the TSA’s small support and information team make a real difference to people affected by the rare genetic condition Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) and their loved ones. In this vital role, you will help to maintain our high support standards at the TSA, including through operating on the TSA Support Line, developing content for a wide range of platforms and needs, and occasionally attending virtual and in-person TSA events.
You'll be part of a flexible, passionate, welcoming and wholly home-based team, who know they improve the world every single day. The role includes (pro-rata) 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays and the working days that fall between Christmas Day and New Year.
On the TSA Support Line, you will provide support and information regarding TSC via telephone, email and webchat. You will offer an informed, non-judgemental and empathetic listening ear to individuals and families at every step of their journey. The type of enquiries we receive are wide ranging, covering matters such as health, social care and education. You will also engage with professionals supporting people with the condition.
You will have a key role in researching, developing, and updating information across our various platforms including (but not limited to) content for our website, social media, support line materials, leaflets, e-newsletter and our community magazine. The primary audience of the materials will be the TSC community. Materials used by NHS clinics and clinicians are also developed by us, which you will have a central part in developing.
You will help to ensure that our internal processes are effective, and the information that we provide to the TSC community is timely, up-to-date, and relevant.
You will attend TSA events (virtually and in-person) to market the TSA Support Line services, participate in sessions and assist in support-related issues.
We are a small but very impactful charity, where roles are wide-reaching. Although this role is focused on support and information services, the successful candidate should also expect to get involved with projects from other TSA teams including communications, research and fundraising.
Responsibilities
1. TSA Support Line
1.1 Through the TSA Support Line, you will provide information and support to individuals living with TSC, their families and professionals by telephone, email and webchat, ensuring that:
- All enquiries received through the TSA Support Line receive a response based on high quality, up-to-date and evidence-based information.
- You log, triage and respond to enquiries received by telephone, email, post and webchat in line with agreed timelines, policies and procedures.
- You direct non-support related enquiries to appropriate TSA staff, taking messages where necessary.
- You are sensitive and responsive to the needs of the individuals living with TSC, family members and health, social care and education professionals using the TSA Support Line.
- You provide time-limited, structured support through formal case management processes for a small number of individuals and families who are most vulnerable and who need regular help and support. This includes individuals with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs, and families who face a wide range of challenges accessing health, social care and education services for their loved ones.
- You collect and accurately record data enabling the TSA to monitor and evaluate the performance of the TSA Support Line, including usage data (such as number and length of calls), qualitative information (feedback from service users) and data collected in conversation (such as logging broad categories of issues that service users are facing).
- You support individuals and families who wish to apply for financial support from the TSA Support Fund, helping them to complete the relevant application forms, ensuring that they supply documentary evidence, and logging their application appropriately for audit and compliance.
- Your support demonstrates best practice and complies with the law on safeguarding (making sure we are working appropriately with vulnerable adults and children) and data protection (making sure that we are handling all sensitive data appropriately).
- You proactively engage with regular reflective practice and supervision to safeguard your own health and wellbeing and support individual and team learning. This will include individual supervision through regular 1-2-1s with your line manager and team supervision through weekly calls for all those working on the support line.
- You will contribute your expert insight into the challenges and issues that the TSC community are facing to help colleagues across the organisation develop information materials, online resources and event agendas for communications channels including the TSA’s community magazine ('Scan'), our website, social media and events.
- You will ensure that internal processes for recording TSA Support Line enquiries, and signposting information on the support line, are maintained to a high standard and kept up to date.
1.2 You will play a key role in the TSA’s safeguarding as part of your work on the TSA Support Line and in supporting other members of staff with any questions that they have.
1.3 You will ensure confidentiality in the provision of the TSA Support Line, managing conversations and relationships tactfully and diplomatically with members of our small community who may also interact regularly with the charity at face-to-face and virtual events and through our social media channels.
1.4 You will work closely with colleagues from across the TSA to ensure that our support and information services are joined-up with and informed by other services offered by the TSA more broadly across our website, social media channels, Scan and face-to-face and virtual events.
1.5 You will help to ensure that the TSA Support Line demonstrates best practice in the provision of support and information. You will work with the Joint Chief Executive and Support and Information Manager to develop proposals to develop and market the service that are joined-up with the support provided across our website, social media channels, Scan and face-to-face and virtual events.
2 Support, information and signposting
2.1 Ensure that high quality, up-to-date and evidence-based information is available to individuals and families living with TSC, and the professionals that support them. Regularly review, draft and develop new materials to support people affected by the condition.
2.2 Work with the Joint Chief Executive and Support and Information Manager to develop appropriate and consistent information to signpost TSA Support Line service users to external partner organisations that can provide specialist support for specific aspects of TSC (such as autism or mental health issues) and living with TSC (such as finding a job or facing bereavement).
2.3 Initiate and maintain regular contact with NHS TSC clinics across the UK to encourage greater communication and support between the TSA and TSC clinics. This could include encouraging clinics to join the NHS TSC Rare Disease Collaborative Network (RDCN), liaising with TSA Medical Advisers about medical support line enquiries, or working with clinics to better understand how the TSA can best help them.
2.4 Work closely with the rest of the TSA including communications, research and fundraising, to demonstrate current knowledge of the work of the organisation and developments in TSC.
2.5 Keep up to date with external events and news and draft relevant content for social media, physical media, e-news and the community magazine, Scan, to support and inform the TSC community.
2 TSA events
2.1 Attend TSA face-to-face and virtual events each year to market the TSA Support Line to people living with TSC, their families and professionals (up to approximately seven face-to-face events per year). General events assistance for the event on the day of face-to-face events will also be expected (for example, this could include time on the reception desk or directing attendees between sessions). Face-to-face events could include Outlook (for adults living with TSC), Big Day (our annual meeting for everyone in the TSC community), Family Fun Days (for younger families), TSA Togethers (regional events) and events for NHS TSC clinicians. Time off in lieu will be given for evening and weekend events, or events outside of your usual working days.
2.2 Help to generate ideas for sessions at TSA events by identifying any trends in information and support needs through the TSA Support Line.
4 Supporting health, social care and education professionals
4.1 Develop and maintain training and education materials to help health, social care and education professionals to better understand the impact of TSC.
4.2 Act as a point of contact for professionals who contact the TSA, working with colleagues to build credibility and strong working relationships with them.
Other requirements of the post
The post holder must be prepared to work flexibly to meet the needs of the organisation. This will entail occasional evening and weekend work. Regular travel within the UK will be needed for team meetings, TSA events and training provision. This would normally require access to a car (mileage will be paid) or travel by public transport (tickets will be paid).
The post holder will be expected to have adequate homeworking facilities to allow them to fulfil the role to the best of their abilities.
