ROLE OVERVIEW

The role is responsible for delivering comprehensive HR support across the organisation covering recruitment, onboarding, training, and support for performance management and employee relations.  It includes managing volunteer processes and working closely with both internal managers and external HR and training providers.

The postholder will play a key role in maintaining effective HR systems, ensuring policy compliance and supporting a positive work culture.

Key responsibilities

· Managing end-to-end recruitment processes across multi-disciplinary teams, including: recruitment, onboarding, DBS checking, training and development, absence and performance management, and leaver processing

· Oversight of SCT’s volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training and administration in collaboration with SCT’s manager

· Working closely with SCT’s outsourced HR support

· Providing SCT managers with guidance on volunteer recruitment and any management issues

· Implementing, maintaining and reviewing an annual training plan for all employees

· Maintaining up-to-date staff files and HR system records including DBS validation, handling confidential employee and volunteer data in line with data protection legislation

· Supporting employee relations by assisting with complaints, grievances and disciplinary procedures including the provision of support to managers on all employee-relations matters

· Working with SCT’s Business Operations Manager to ensure accurate information is provided to SCT’s outsourced payroll administrators to ensure accuracy of all relevant information

· Supporting the ongoing review, development and improvement of clear, consistent and accessible policies and procedures across the organisation

· Working closely with SCT’s managers to promote the ongoing communication, implementation and participation in the review cycle of policies and procedures

· Undertaking other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

· CIPD-qualified to level 5: significant HR management experience will also be considered

· 3+years demonstrable generalist HR management experience or similar role types – ideally in a small organisation or NFP

· Demonstrable experience of working across multiple sites

· Excellent communication skills both written and in person with the ability to adapt to a range of audiences

· Experience of presenting materials and report-writing to a range of audiences.

About the Safety, Health & Environment team:

The SHE team are a multi tasking team that undertake most Health and Safety tasks in-house, working closely with most other teams within Cats Protection. The team is made up of a manager and 4 regional officers who cover the whole of the UK, The team deal with the Cats Protection retail outlets, Cat Centres, accident investigations, DSE,  branch volunteer enquiries and more. 

What we’re looking for in our Health and Safety Officer:

- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and membership of a relevant professional body

- Significant experience (3+ years post qualification) in a similar health & safety role, ideally in public sector, facilities, or charity setting

- Experience working across multiple sites

- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practices

- Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels

- Able to work independently, manage workload, and perform under pressure

Engagement Officer (Midlands & West)
We are looking for an Engagement Officer to work with members of the UK fire services community in an inhouse, face to face fundraising capacity. This role covers a region reaching from Severn Park in Avonmouth (Bristol), to Staffordshire and across the Midlands and part of Wales.

The successful candidate will ideally be located around the Birmingham area, or within the Mid / West of England, to enable frequent travel across the region to visit stations and training centres regularly. 

Hours: 30 hours per month (equivalent of 6.92 hours per week)
Salary: £5,242.76 per year
Flexible working pattern to allow for planning visits (some evening or weekends required)

We are looking for an Engagement Officer who can inspire the Fire and Rescue communities to support Fire Fighters charity and the work it carries out.

The Role
Building relationships with the fire and rescue services in your area, you’ll become an integral part of the local fire services community, you'll work collaboratively with our national team of fundraisers and to help secure much-needed income for the Charity.

You will provide talks to new recruits, making them aware of the services the charity provides for them as new service users, and encourage signups to individual giving schemes. You will work with your team to maximise recruitment, re-engagement and retention of individual supporters.

With a flexible approach, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling your visits to stations, managing and maintaining personal data and recording outcomes on our Customer Relations Management (CRM) software. 

You will need to be able to travel across the region, which includes: Severn Park in Avonmouth (Bristol), Staffordshire and across the Midlands and parts of Wales.

This role is subject to a Basic Disclosure and Barring Services Check.

About You
We’re looking for an experienced fundraiser to join our team. You’ll need excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences, with the ability to deliver PowerPoint Presentations in a confident, and clear manner.

You'll need good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload, and work without close supervision. You'll also need to be competent on standard Microsoft packages, have efficient time management skills and a proficient use of social media and apps. 

This role requires you to be able to travel and occasionally stay away overnight. 

A good knowledge of the UK Fire and Rescue Service community is beneficial, and knowledge of legal requirements relating to Fundraising and Data Protection and Information Security principles is required.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead on the overall donor development offline programme for both cash and committed donors, ensuring a strong onboarding and onward journey is in place, and that key touchpoints are leveraged to deepen engagement and increase donors’ Lifetime Value.
• Work with digital fundraising colleagues to create integrated, multichannel campaigns and an effective, donor-first giving journey.
• Provide colleagues with strategic guidance, and technical support if required, to deliver warm appeals via Direct Mail that meet six-figures campaign targets.
• Manage our Telemarketing programme, to successfully launch and deliver activities such as conversion, upgrade, reactivation, and welcome calling.
• Ensure an insight-led thanking programme is in place, with key moments identified throughout the year to acknowledge support and communicate impact.
• Work with key stakeholders across digital and offline teams to ensure we maintain a strong retention rate whilst growing our Regular Giving file.
• Remain flexible and rapidly respond to emergency situations.
• Work with our Data team to identify the best approach to data and segmentation for each project.
• Manage production processes, developing supplier briefs and managing approval stages and end of campaign reviews.
• Work with our suppliers to ensure campaign fulfilment is in place and collaborate with our Supporter Care function to monitor responses and identify issues/opportunities.
• Ensure cost effective fundraising, manage individual campaign budgets and identify opportunities to improve ROIs.
• Stay up to date with issues affecting displaced & refugee communities, campaigns from international teams and reports from the field. Scope new fundraising themes.
• Share creative and insights with UK colleagues, global markets and HQ, participating in training seminars, workshops and international skill shares where applicable.

Camp Jojo is a small/medium, but growing charity with a committed team of Trustees, Special Advisors, and Volunteers. This is a chance to contribute to a dynamic organisation and work in a supportive environment. In particular, Camp Jojo’s extension of its work to Nags Head Farm, Appleby, Cumbria, is new; with Open Days held in 2025, and the first camps to be held in August 2026.

The holder of this post will be critical to this development; working to establish a sister site in Cumbria to Ivy Farm on Mersea island, Essex, with a well tried and tested model of operations. The role of Nags Head Farm: Operations Manager (Families and Site Ops) is to offer leadership and administrative support to key functions of Camp Jojo at Nags Head Farm, and to members of the Camp Jojo Board, in relation to the camps held at Nags Head Farm.

The Contractor will handle clerical and logistics tasks for the organisation in a timely and efficient way. The primary task of the Nags Head Farm: Operations Manager will be to oversee family applications to the camps, and to maintain and develop data bases in support of this. They will hold a key role in relation to communications with the families pre-, during, and post-camps. In addition, they will attend and minute meetings, and contribute to camp operations in planning etc. They may need to work flexibly, according to the seasonal demands of the charity.

They will attend the first day (Friday) of each camp The Nags Head Farm: Operations Manager will have a varied and sometimes high-pace job environment. As such, they will need to handle multiple tasks, manage their own time well, interact professionally with the wider Camp Jojo community, and be very good communicators.

The West Midlands Synod of the United Reformed Church is looking for an individual to provide technical expertise on buildings and property in support of Synod Officers, members of Synod Committees and local churches.

Main duties

Strategic direction and governance

• Work with the Chair and the board to set the strategy and ensure that the Charity fulfils its strategic priorities
• Support the board and its sub-committee to maintain good governance and ensure our policies are up to date and fit for purpose
• Provide the board with all necessary management information, including the Finance Administrator’s quarterly management accounts, quarterly progress reports, and risk register updates, to support good quality decision-making.
• Attend board meetings and board committees as required.

Operational and people

• Provide strong and empathetic leadership to the staff team and to volunteers, nurturing their talent and helping them achieve their objectives
• Live WEN’s organisational values (be relentless, responsible and kind), visibly demonstrated by your actions and behaviours
• Ensure all our GDPR and data management obligations are met
• Demonstrate sound financial management, ensuring records are kept accurately and up to date
• Ensure WEN Wales meets all its statutory reporting requirements
• Work with the Treasurer and the board to develop and approve the budget.  Fundraising
• Implement a fundraising strategy which supports the wider organisational strategy in a sustainable way
• Ensure a strong pipeline of funding applications and lead on some funder relationships. Policy and communications
• Provide thought leadership through WEN Wales’ public-facing work
• Safeguard WEN Wales’ reputation for evidence-based campaigning and policy work
• Interpret the evidence and represent WEN’s policy positions confidently and accurately
• Be the lead spokesperson for WEN Wales, driving forward high impact campaigns and ensuring that we maintain a high profile across media outlets
• Actively engage WEN Wales’ members and supporters in our work
• Ensure the growth of our membership
• Build and maintain partnerships and alliances with others in the women’s sector and across other sectors
• Have oversight of the Engagement Strategy.

Volunteering at Muscular Dystrophy UK plays a vital role in driving forward the charity’s mission to support individuals and families affected by muscle-wasting conditions. Volunteers are at the heart of MDUK’s work, contributing their time, skills, and passion to raise awareness, fundraise, and deliver community-based support. Supporting and empowering volunteers is essential not only to enhance their experience and wellbeing but also to strengthen the charity’s impact across the UK. By fostering inclusive, meaningful, and well-structured volunteering opportunities, the Volunteering and Support Group Officer will help ensure that every volunteer feels valued and equipped to make a real difference in the lives of the community that MDUK supports.

In this role you’ll work with the Volunteer Engagement Manager to ensure that volunteers across the organisation are recruited, trained and managed effectively, so our volunteers feel supported in their roles, and get the most they can from their volunteering.

You’ll additionally support the organisation of in person and online activities which provide a supportive, welcoming space for people affected by muscle-wasting and weakening conditions to meet with others – both in their local area and online across the UK. You’ll provide support to the volunteers who chair and coordinate these events, ensuring throughout that meetings and events meet the needs of our community.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Finance Officer to join our mental health charity, to support and deliver effective, efficient financial processes and compliance with financial regulations and data protection to ensure the smooth and effective running of the organisation. 

The successful candidate will report to the Senior Operations Manager and will involve managing financial transactions and reconciliation, maintaining accurate project records, supporting the production of management accounts, costing new work, budgeting and reporting as well as overseeing payroll.

You will need to demonstrate strong analytical skills and a passion for supporting mental health research.  Attention to detail, an administrative mind and a compassionate communicator are vital to this role as well as the ability to use your initiative and manage your own workload.  Every day will be different, with the opportunity for you to develop your skills and support our projects.

This post would ideally suit someone with excellent financial administration skills and project management experience.  The post holder will also need to have knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks accounting software

Some of your work will be routine: weekly newsletters, managing our website and social media, and keeping our members informed. Other parts will be more strategic – finding fresh ways to engage our diverse community, including promoting our kindergarten and flagship events.

You’ll have some experience in a communications role – perhaps in a charity, community or faith-based organisation. You’ll know how to take lots of information and shape it into clear, exciting messages. That means writing great copy, editing text from others, and using tools like Canva to create eye-catching visuals.

It would be great if you are confident in managing websites and creating engaging content across platforms, or keen to learn.
