The Outward Bound Trust is now delivering its 2030 Strategy, which sets out an ambitious plan to grow reach, strengthen partnerships, and invest in its six heritage outdoor centres.
Reporting to the CEO, you’ll directly manage four experienced team heads and oversee a high-performing team of 18 who generate bursary, unrestricted, and capital income. The role sits on the Senior Management Team, working closely with colleagues across the charity to connect fundraising with programme delivery, marketing, and business development, ensuring shared priorities and greater collective impact. You’ll also play a key role in the Fundraising and Marcomms Steering Group, ensuring effective working between fundraising and external engagement.
This is a broad, strategic role combining leadership, direction, and hands-on relationship management at one of the UK’s most respected youth charities. You’ll work alongside a supportive CEO and senior leadership team, lead an experienced and capable department, and shape a fundraising strategy that will help thousands of young people access the power of outdoor learning and adventure.
As Director of Fundraising, you will:
- Lead and support a multi-disciplinary fundraising function spanning major donors, corporate partnerships, legacies, trusts and foundations, and events
- Deliver growth across bursary, unrestricted, and capital income, ensuring fundraising priorities align with organisational strategy and long-term sustainability
- Develop and implement capital fundraising plans, supporting the upgrade of existing outdoor centres and laying the groundwork for a potential new site acquisition
- Review and refine OBT’s approach to new business and innovation, identifying where to invest, consolidate, or reshape activity to maximise return
- Build and steward high-value relationships, personally managing key donors, corporate partners, and foundations capable of transformational giving
- Ensure fundraising, business development, and marketing operate in partnership to maximise opportunities for income growth and profile building
- Contribute to organisational leadership as a member of the Senior Management Team, supporting financial planning, strategic decision-making, and cross-directorate collaboration
- Represent OBT externally with senior supporters, funders, and government stakeholders, acting as a visible ambassador for outdoor learning and youth development
Ideal skills and experience:
- Substantial senior-level fundraising experience with demonstrable success in leading multistream teams
- Proven ability to secure and steward six- and seven-figure partnerships and relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporates, and foundations
- Strategic and analytical mindset, confident in planning, budgeting, forecasting, and evaluating performance
- Experience of capital fundraising or large-scale campaigns advantageous
- Credible, empowering leadership style – able to guide senior managers, foster collaboration, and provide clarity of direction

Job Summary

- Deliver effective onboarding and induction processes for new starters, ensuring all steps are followed and documented, and contributing to a positive candidate experience.
- Assist with job offer processes, including drafting conditional offer letters, conducting reference checks, verifying right-to-work documentation, and updating relevant systems.
- Ensure effective communication with the Payroll Officer in relation to new starters and leavers, including checking accrued holiday balances prior to confirming leaver letters.
- Respond to reference requests for current and former employees in a timely manner.
People Systems, Data & Reporting
- Confidently use systems and other digital tools to input and maintain people’s data accurately.
- Run regular reports and provide performance or management information (MI) within agreed timescales.
- Analyse data to validate accuracy and identify trends or issues that require further attention.

- Provide administrative support for employee relations casework and people-related projects, including scheduling, document preparation, and note-taking.
- Attend and provide support at formal meetings, including disciplinary, grievance, or performance reviews, as required.
- Accurately take and distribute minutes for internal meetings, including Board, Committee, and annual staff meetings.
- Set up and coordinate meeting logistics (both virtual and in-person), including booking rooms, IT setup, and arranging access or other relevant requirements.

- Be the key contact with the Board of Trustees – arranging the Board meetings and other engagements with them.

The Operations Coordinator will provide vital support to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the organisation, providing key operations administrative support to areas including, but not limited to Facilities, Office, IT, Data, Health & Safety and Policies & Procedures.
Key responsibilities:
Facilities and Office Admin
- Act as the main point of contact for the ScreenSkills office as a key liaison with the serviced office team (Techspace), meeting and greeting visitors as a representative of the organisation, managing visitor passes etc.
- Provide general office support in the smooth running of the office operations, acting as a key liaison for all ScreenSkills staff, including the set-up and exit requirements for new-starters and leavers.

- Ability to provide calm first-line basic technical support, troubleshooting issues with devices, software, hardware, meeting room AV and online platforms. Logging and tracking issues and following-up support tickets diligently.
Data and Compliance
- Coordinating data processing requirements in line with our policies. Assist with managing data as instructed and per our data handling and retention policies.
- Coordinate and track data subject access requests as these arise.
Health & Safety
- Coordinate general Health and Safety documentation within the organisation ensuring fire and general risk assessments are completed in a timely manner, working with HR to coordinate information between the Techspace team and our Fire Marshalls and First Aiders.
- Act as a First Aider and/or Fire Marshal for ScreenSkills staff.
- Arrange annual training for first aiders and fire marshals.
Policies and Procedures
- Monitor the organisation’s policies, ensuring relevant senior managers are aware of the schedule to review/update them.
- Signposting staff to relevant policies and procedures as requested.
- Coordinate and track the organisations’ complaints process.

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Individual Giving Officer (Acquisition) to join our collaborative Individual Giving team.
As an Individual Giving Officer, you’ll lead the delivery of multi-channel campaigns designed to recruit new supporters and the ongoing supporter stewardship of these new donors. The Role
As Chief Financial Officer, you will lead the financial strategy and operations of LTM, ensuring robust financial management, governance, and performance. This is a pivotal role on the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), reporting directly to the Director and attending all Board meetings. You will also deputise for the Director when required.
This role goes beyond traditional finance leadership. You will be a moderniser—driving transformation, leading negotiations, overseeing broader business support functions, and contribute to LTM50, including capital programme oversight. You will be the face of financial and business systems at LTM, helping to deliver a future-fit museum aligned with our strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and management of LTM’s overall budget, ensuring financial sustainability across short, medium, and long-term goals
- Oversee all aspects of financial control, governance, reporting, and compliance with statutory, charity, and TfL requirements
- Deliver timely and accurate statutory accounts, budgets, forecasts, and management reports
- Lead business support functions and liaise with TfL departments including HR, Procurement, Reward, Tech and Data and Finance
- Provide strategic financial advice to the Board of Trustees, SLT, and wider teams
- Represent LTM in financial negotiations with external partners and suppliers
- Champion a high-performing, inclusive finance team—setting clear goals, recognising success, and modelling LTM’s values
- Collaborate closely with TfL Finance to ensure alignment and efficiency
- Ensure all financial and legal obligations are met and policies are up to date and followed
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with a proven track record in senior finance leadership roles within complex organisations, and will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience at Board level and ability to work in collaboration with Trustees and colleagues;
- Understanding and experience of strategic risk management, finance audit and internal controls;
- Broad operational knowledge including digital transformation, estates, and HR;
- Experience navigating challenging financial climates and driving efficiencies.

Reporting directly to the CEO and as a member of the Senior Management Team, you will help shape organisational strategy, drive compliance, and provide leadership that ensures our teams and systems function effectively.
As Head of Operations and Donor Engagement you will be responsible for leading effective relationship management with our donors, to ensure compliance and that grants operations and systems meet their needs and those of our grantee partners and applicants.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all operational aspects of the organisation are efficient, run smoothly and enable others to perform their roles effectively. This includes oversight of grants operations; grants management system; operational policies and processes; procurement of goods and services; donor and legal compliance; HR; and Risk Management.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Relationships and People management
- Effective donor contract management, through building strong external relationships, annual workplans, donor compliance, audits and reporting.
- Effective line management of your team to include performance reviews, support and development
- Prepare, chair and follow up on quarterly Donor Fiduciary Risk & Safeguarding meetings.
- Chair regular team and project performance review meetings
- Support the CEO with Board and Members meetings

3. Grants Operations
- Ensure smooth operation of the grant implementation process from grant set up through to grant closure
- Accountable for ensuring that the grants management system remains fit for purpose, is subject to continuous improvement and maximises efficiency and ease of use for team members, applicants & grantees.
4. Risk Management
- Accountable for the implementation and maintaining of the Risk Register and advising the Board on appropriate risk mitigating measures
5. Management of company support functions and suppliers
- Accountable for timely and compliant procurement, availability and performance of IT and IT equipment; Cyber Security; Data Protection; Office Space; and essential business applications/software including Box, DocuSign, and Fluxx.
- Lead and contribute to HR function in collaboration with the CEO, including recruitment and selection activity as required
- Accountable for logistics of international travel and events both in the UK and overseas in order to meet duty of care requirements
- Accountable for Operations & Procurement systems, processes, policies and templates, through effective line management of the Operations and Procurement specialist and HR Manager
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a related subject
- Detail conscious and organised, yet ability to be flexible
- Knowledge of donor agency procedures and excellent donor management and communication skills
- Confidence in building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrable knowledge of the commercial and key operational aspects of managing an organisation

WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
This is a UK based, full time (37.5 hours/week) permanent position, reporting to the CEO. AmplifyChange is based in Bath, and we operate on a hybrid working model. Requests for flexible working arrangements will be considered. ROLE OVERVIEW
The role is responsible for delivering comprehensive HR support across the organisation covering recruitment, onboarding, training, and support for performance management and employee relations. It includes managing volunteer processes and working closely with both internal managers and external HR and training providers.
