Based in Surrey, the Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist college and charity that focuses on developing independence skills through performing and visual arts and makes dramatic improvements to young disabled adults’ lives.  We are currently looking for a driven and pro-active Events Fundraiser to develop, coordinate and deliver the charity’s fundraising events and orchestrate experiences from initial concept to post event analysis. This includes pre-event planning and development, concept development and proposal.

Working closely with the Head of Capital Appeal and Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, you will design and deliver events which steward and develop key contacts as part of our Capital Appeal.

The role holder will have strong administration skills, attention to detail and work as part of a team.  You will be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, managing a wide range of tasks.

35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year

Salary: £28,000 - 32,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Essential qualifications, knowledge and experience:

Context and purpose of the role

You will join a small, high-performing team responsible for generating £5 million per year from individual giving, legacies, grants and corporate partners, all to deliver the Ramblers ambition for a future where everyone can enjoy the benefits of walking in nature.

Working closely with the Product & Innovation Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the fundraising strategy, leading on the delivery of our individual giving and legacy marketing campaigns across a range of channels. You will create high-quality, compelling campaign materials and ensure an excellent donor experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Income generation

• Play a key role in the implementation and delivery of the individual giving and legacy marketing strategy
• Support the growth of individual giving income in line with annual targets
• Develop and deliver regular cash and legacy marketing appeals to a high level, including:
  • Developing propositions and cases for support
  • Create compelling direct marketing materials, including writing persuasive copy and developing strong creative content
  • Project management to ensure delivery on schedule and within budget
  • Managing relationships with agencies and suppliers including design and print
• Manage a portfolio of affiliate fundraising campaigns

Donor stewardship

• Ensure the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is used effectively to facilitate accurate supporter stewardship and reporting
• Effectively manage communications with supporters, including ensuring that donations are thanked appropriately, managing fundraising inboxes, and responding to queries
• Working with the Production & Innovation Manager, identify a pipeline of potential mid- and high-value donors for stewardship and conversion

Data and reporting

• Work closely with the data team to ensure selections are accurate, timely and relevant to our various audiences, and use income data to make recommendations for future campaigns
• Maintain accurate, up to date and compliant records of individual giving campaigns and appeals

Relationships

• Build strong working relationships with staff within various functions of the Ramblers

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Experience working within a target-driven fundraising or direct marketing team, ideally within an individual giving context
• Experience of managing fundraising or marketing projects across a range of channels, such as direct mail, social media and email
• Experience of data-driven marketing campaigns, including segmentation and campaign analysis to meet objectives

Role Purpose

The Operations Director is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective running of all operational aspects of Katherine Low Settlement. This role oversees the day-to-day operational leadership of the charity, ensuring that its systems, processes, and teams are aligned with strategic objectives and compliant with relevant legislation.

Job Purpose:

Pivot (Home from Hospital)

Pivot (Home from Hospital) is delivered as part of the Pembrokeshire Integrated Assisted Discharge Partnership commissioned by the Hywel Dda University Health Board. The service aims to support people’s discharge from the hospital and prevent unnecessary readmittance. It also supports people to either remain in or return to their own homes, where evidence shows they are most likely to make the best recovery and retain their independence for longer.

As part of the wider partnership, Volunteering Matters recruits and places volunteers to provide short-term practical support to individuals in their homes, for example, providing help with shopping, light cleaning, or befriending, etc., and we are now looking for a dynamic Engagement Manager to join our local team. The role will involve recruiting, onboarding and supporting a local bank of volunteers, whilst managing referrals into the scheme, having ‘What Matters’ conversations with service users and coordinating a matching process so that people get the timely help they need. The right candidate will be someone who can work flexibly and demonstrates an understanding and commitment to our organisational values.

Please note: this role may require occasional Saturday mornings.

Key Duties:

1. Recruit, interview, induct, train and support volunteers.

2. Work closely with the Pivot team and wider partnership to manage referrals into the project, updating on progress and plans in the process.

3. Engage with service users to conduct a “What Matters” conversation and develop individual support plans

4. Management of the matching/placement of volunteers, and monitoring and supporting the match throughout.

5. Maintain good record keeping, ensuring that evidence and impact data is collected so that we can monitor progress against outcomes

6. Promote the project through a range of techniques, instigating interest in volunteering and encouraging engagement.

7. Maintain effective relationships with volunteers, service users, colleagues and project partners.

8. Prepare reports to the Project Manager, based on agreed outputs and targets.

9. Risk assess all activities and volunteers, ensuring that they are regularly reviewed and amended if circumstances change.

10. Contribute to joint working and teamwork across Volunteering Matters and the Home from Hospital team.

Experience/Skills and attributes:

1. A calm and collected demeanour, with the ability to reassure, support and allay the worries of service users.

2. Ability to engage in good conversation with service users, whilst actively assessing risks and solutions.

3. Ability to motivate and engage people.

4. Awareness of social care and/or third sector service provision, and the support networks and services available in Pembrokeshire.

5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

6. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a demanding workload and work under pressure and to deadlines.

7. Ability to assess risk and carry out risk assessments (training will be given).

8. Evidence of good administrative and IT skills and the ability to maintain project monitoring, administrative and record keeping.

9. Understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

10. Understanding of and commitment to Data Protection and confidentiality.

11. Full UK Driving Licence

Desirables:

Ability to speak Welsh or a willingness to learn.

Experience working in partnership with other agencies.

Qualifications:

Relevant experience and values alignment are more important for this role than specific qualifications. This role will also require the successful candidate to undertake project-specific training, including:

Location: This role is home-based and will involve extensive travel across Pembrokeshire. For this reason, we require the post holder to have a full UK driving licence with use of their own car. STOPAIDS mobilises civil society, parliamentarians, the public and the media to influence decision-makers in the UK and globally on the advocacy impact areas outlined in our 2022-2025 strategy.

In partnership with senior leadership, the Media and Communications Manager will oversee the design and implementation of STOPAIDS' organisational-wide media and communications strategy that amplifies STOPAIDS’ impact and reputation across our key advocacy areas. The Media and Communications Manager will support STOPAIDS and our joint advocacy projects to achieve our advocacy objectives through identifying strategic media opportunities, managing relationships with media outlets, and securing external media coverage. They will also work with staff and partners to develop relevant high-quality media products and to develop and manage online communications content for our key social media and website platforms.

As a capable team leader, the Media and Communications Manager provides expert guidance to staff and partners, is comfortable coordinating and facilitating working groups and supports the leadership of people living with and affected by HIV. They also work with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that media and communications strategies are aligned and complementary with other organisational strategies and priorities.

As with all STOPAIDS staff, and in partnership with the CEO and the Director for Development & Engagement, they will work to ensure the sustainability of the organisation by contributing 10% of their time to fundraising (to support with application and report writing) and other advocacy support.

The role has a six-month probation period.

About the Role

As our creative, innovative and data led Legacy & In Memory Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering WaterAid’s legacy and in memory fundraising programme with the support of the Legacy and In Memory Marketing Officer. You will deliver multi-channel campaigns across TV, digital, direct mail, email and events to raise awareness of gifts in wills, generate legacy enquirers and create inspiring journeys to nurture and engage legacy and in memory supporters.

In this role, you will plan, manage and execute multi-channel campaigns across the marketing funnel, as well as work with the Legacy and In Memory Marketing Officer to deliver exceptional stewardship, through personal communications and events, to our committed supporters.

You’ll also: 

• Be responsible for using data, analysis and insight to innovate and maximise both existing campaigns and seek to test new audiences and channels that meet specific objectives within the LIM Team plans
• Undertake Project Management responsibilities required for the successful and timely delivery of multiple channel campaigns – including delivery of the award-winning legacy consideration campaign What Jack Gave across TV and digital
• Manage, coach and motivate the Legacy and In Memory Marketing Officer to deliver their campaigns.
• Manage relationships with external agencies and suppliers to ensure the effective and timely delivery of campaigns 
• Operate a rigorous test to learn methodology, regularly monitoring, evaluating and analysing campaigns

Requirements

You’ll be passionate about using your experience in fundraising and marketing to make a difference by creating inspiring and supporter-led communications that effectively raises consideration for legacy giving and uncovers new legacy prospects and legacy pledgers.

To be successful, you’ll need: 

• Proven experience in direct marketing – print and digital
• Experience of leading and motivating internal and external stakeholders
• Experience of developing and implementing multiple channels campaigns
• Experience in monitoring, evaluating and analysing complex campaigns to improve performance and manage expenditure budgets

Role Overview 

The role is responsible for delivering comprehensive HR support across the organisation, covering recruitment, onboarding, training, and support for performance management and employee relations. It includes managing volunteer processes and working closely with both internal managers and external HR and payroll providers. The postholder will play a key role in maintaining effective HR systems, ensuring policy compliance, and supporting a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities 

• Managing end-to-end recruitment processes across multi-disciplinary teams; including recruitment, onboarding, DBS checking, training and development, absence, performance management and leavers.
• Ongoing development, coordination, and oversight of SCT’s volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training, and administration in collaboration with SCT’s managers.
• Working closely with SCT’s outsourced HR support.
• Providing SCT managers with guidance on volunteer recruitment and any management issues.
• Implementing, maintaining and reviewing an annual training plan for all employees.
• Maintaining up-to-date staff files and HR system records including DBS validation, handling confidential employee and volunteer data in line with data protection legislation.
• Supporting employee relations by assisting with complaints, grievances, and disciplinary procedures, including provision of support to managers on all employee-relation matters.
• Working with SCT’s Business Operations Officer to ensure accurate information is provided to SCT’s outsourced payroll administrators to ensure accuracy of all relevant information.
• Supporting the ongoing review, development and improvement of clear, consistent, and accessible policies and procedures across the organisation.
• Working closely with SCT’s managers to promote the ongoing communication, implementation, and participation in the review cycle of policies and procedures.
• Undertaking other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time.

Person Specification 

• CIPD qualified to level 5 or significant HR Management experience will also be considered

• 3+ years demonstrable generalist HR Management experience or similar role types

• Demonstrable experience of working across multiple sites

• Excellent communication skills both in the written form and in person with the ability to adapt to all audiences

• Experience of presenting material and report writing to a range of audiences

Essential Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in managing end-to-end recruitment processes, including onboarding, training, performance management, absence, and leaver procedures.
• Awareness of UK employment law and GDPR, with a willingness to learn and apply policies correctly.
• Understanding of volunteer management, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and administration.
• Experience with outsourced HR support services, providing HR guidance and support to managers, particularly in volunteer and employee management matters.
• Experience in maintaining accurate HR records and handling confidential information in line with data protection legislation.
• Practical knowledge of employee relations processes, including handling complaints, grievances, and disciplinary procedures.
• Familiarity with payroll processes and working collaboratively to ensure accurate payroll data.
• Comfortable using HR databases, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Help coordinate internal communications and staff events.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Experience in developing and implementing annual training and development plans.
• Previous involvement in reviewing and updating organisational HR policies and procedures.
• Experience in the charity or voluntary sector, particularly in managing and supporting volunteers.
