The Account and Support Manager will be responsible for working with the Upshot team to deliver high quality customer service to all clients. They will manage the implementation of the Upshot system for new clients, deal with customer support queries and manage contract renewals for existing clients. The role enables the candidate to work closely with a range of audiences, stakeholders and different charities, sport and non-sport, to help and support them to collect good data and better measure the impact of their community work. 

Remote working from home; The expectation would be that the successful candidate would spend 2 days per week at the House of Sport with Upshot and the remainder working remotely. At times depending on business needs there may be a requirement for more days to be worked in the office. This role also includes periodic travel to client locations to build relationships and deliver training. 

The successful candidate will be managing high-level and detailed relationships with clients and this role will see the successful candidate as a primary point of contact for both new and existing clients of which they are responsible for. 

Beyond their core responsibilities, the Account and Support Manager will also have the opportunity to develop the business more broadly, through identifying potential business development opportunities, partaking in ongoing marketing exercises, discussions around the development of the system and engaging with our wider Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Services. 

The role is varied, providing the unique opportunity to learn the many different skills needed to run a tech start up, under the umbrella of a social enterprise. They will help develop Upshot’s online help guides/resources, deliver online and face to-face training, host workshops and assist with improving efficiency within the team. 

Account and Support 

Client Onboarding and Training: 

1. Manage the implementation of Upshot for new clients, including analysing clients’ needs and adapting the system to meet    their requirements. 

2. Deliver training to groups of new and existing Upshot users in-person and online. 

Support: 

3. Provide a high-quality customer experience, supporting on designing and producing support materials, such as online           tutorials, guides and documents. 

4. Provide high-quality user support, resolving complex queries and ensuring high client satisfaction. 

5. Proactively troubleshooting and offering tailored solutions to clients’ needs online, by telephone or in person. 

Renewals: 

6. Conduct regular check-ins with clients during the license period to ensure they are satisfied and utilising the product fully. 7. Manage the renewal process, ensuring clients renew their contracts annually and identifying opportunities for upselling or  upgrades. 

General Account Management: 

8. Build relationships with and take full ownership of allocated & identified new and existing clients. 

9. Monitor client accounts to ensure they are active and engaged, taking proactive steps to address any potential issues. 

Collaboration and Coordination: 

10. Work closely with the Head of Account Management and the wider Account Management team to maintain excellent relationships with all clients. 

11. Work with internal teams, such as Product, to highlight client issues and improve the overall client experience.

12. Collaborate with other team members to ensure accurate and complete information is captured in CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and Finance systems. 

13. Provide support to the Upshot team for client-related tasks. 

14. Lead or support on projects to improve internal processes and implement them successfully within the wider team.

Additional Responsibilities 

Business Development and Marketing 

15. Take a proactive role in identifying and securing new business opportunities to expand our client base. This could include upselling services to existing clients, generating referrals and identifying new clients. 

16. Support the Upshot team in the delivery of marketing material, organising events and campaigns to maximise sales opportunities. 

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Services 

17. Support on the creation of sophisticated external reporting mechanisms, enabling clients to visualise and communicate their impact effectively.

18. Advise clients on best practices in data collection and impact measurement, and support internal efforts to continually enhance client’s MEL needs.

19. Support on the delivery of MEL workshops both in-person and online 

Software development:

20. Support the Upshot Product team to carry out user testing and make recommendations for enhancements to the system’s features and functionality. 

21. Advise the Upshot team regarding improvements to the system to assist with sales and existing customer satisfaction

Other:

22. Provide support to the rest of the Upshot team where needed. 

23. Undertake duties as can be reasonably expected to ensure the smooth running and efficiency of the Upshot team. 

24. Always carry out duties and responsibilities in compliance with Upshot policies. 

Person Specification

Ideally, we’re looking for someone with the following characteristics. However, it is not essential to possess all. 

Knowledge of: 

1. Web-based software applications and data management. 

2. The not-for-profit sector, including Local authorities, Housing Associations, Universities and Colleges. 

3. Sports development and/or sport for development including National Governing Bodies, County sports partnerships and sport clubs. 

4. MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning) impact measurement, data collection. 

5. Microsoft products, particularly Excel to an advanced level. 

Experience of: 

6.  Account management and customer service in a tech, SaaS or charity environment. 

7. Leading on external projects with a wide range of stakeholders from planning to execution 

8. Delivering group training to a range of audiences – in person and online. 

9. Providing client and user support, especially on digital tools. 

10. Handling, analysing and visualising data to produce actional insights. 

11. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and partners. 

12. Communicating clearly and succinctly to a range of audiences through various channels. 

13. Managing workload independently to balance the competing pressures of customer service, implementation and training.

Other qualities might include:

You will help form part of a UK-wide team of remote Helpline Advisors operating the only modern slavery specific helpline in the UK. Answering incoming calls, making callouts, sending emails, drafting referrals to external agencies, and maintaining accurate data will be your day-to-day responsibilities. You will contribute to a service that as well as providing information, advice and guidance to our service users, also helps create one of the largest non-governmental bodies of data on the scale of modern slavery in the UK which is used to influence strategy and policy at local, national and international levels. The Position

The IT Manager will work with our outsourced helpdesk provider to deliver maximum availability of the network, data and systems, to ensure we are secure and compliant and to provide support and training to our staff. The IT infrastructure includes an extensive wired and Wi-Fi network throughout the building with approaching 100 Wi-Fi access points. This network is critical for the smooth running of the Society’s day to day activities and the successful operation of events on the premises, which account for turnover in excess of £1m p.a.

The IT Manager will also be the internal technical/project lead on the ongoing development of the Society’s CRM system, Centrepoint’s oomi product.

Salary and Benefits:

This is a permanent, full-time post subject to successful completion of a probationary period of three months. The salary range for this post is £45,000-£55,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications. The post is based in Kensington, London.

The AI Opportunity Fund, led by the Centre for Public Impact with support from Google . org, is currently a  €16 million initiative aimed at empowering underserved workers across Europe with essential AI skills. The programme has selected 73 organisations from hundreds of applications to provide tailored AI training to at least 20,000 workers across 24 European countries. These organisations focus on diverse communities, including rural job seekers, underemployed women, and public sector workers, aiming to bridge the digital divide and promote economic resilience. The initiative underscores AI's potential to drive social mobility and equitable growth across the continent. We are also hoping to scale our work in this area in the future. 

Position Overview: 

We are seeking an experienced Grants Programme Manager to ensure the successful delivery of the AI Opportunity Fund. This role is responsible for the operational leadership of the programme, ensuring that it is planned and executed effectively on time, on budget and within scope. A key focus of the role is ensuring that the grant-giving component of the programme is designed and stewarded diligently.

This is a middle management role that is primarily operational with some elements of strategic leadership. It requires strong project management skills, good grant-making practice and the ability to manage relationships with diverse partners.  We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working with considerable scope and complexity; and who embraces the challenges and opportunities of a startup environment where learning, adaptability, and building the plane as we fly it are central!

Responsibilities and Competencies:

Programme Development and Delivery

• Provide excellent stewardship of a large portfolio of grants, providing technical support and effectively managing escalated issues to ensure the programme achieves its strategic objectives.

• Build the capacity of the wider AI Opportunity Fund team in grant making skills and capabilities. 

• Manage and coach the Grants Officer, ensuring they deliver their grants administration responsibilities effectively. 

Partnerships and Stakeholder Management

• Provide excellent donor stewardship of Google . org, securing their confidence in CPIE as a thought and delivery partner. 

• Cultivate, maintain and oversee strong relationships with wider stakeholders on the programme including service providers and evaluation partners.

• Support senior leadership to position the programme strategically internally and externally in order to advance CPIE’s reputation and offer. 

Monitoring, Evaluation  and Learning

• Ensure that CPIE prepares and submits accurate, timely and high quality programme and grant reports to Google, CPI’s Board and other key audiences.

Tellmi is a multi-award winning fully moderated, anonymous, mental health service predominantly for young people aged 11-25. The Tellmi app safely enables young people to talk about difficult things and encourages them to help themselves, by helping each other. Beneath an engaging anonymous peer to peer feed, Tellmi integrates the latest psychological research to promote the development of protective factors such as emotional resilience, empathy, social skills, stress management and coping techniques. Tellmi is commissioned by the NHS and Local Authorities across the UK and works closely with schools, CAMHS and VCSFEs.

The Tellmi app is free to download with premium features in commissioned areas. The app is available 365 days a year, 24/7 and our moderators, counsellors and therapists are available from 8:30am until 11pm everyday.

YOUR ROLE

Your role is to ensure the operation of the Tellmi Mental Health Service is safe and effective for all users. This role encompasses direct support for our users via the Tellmi app as well as behind the scenes management of operations. You will be one of the counsellors on call to respond to high risk posts during daytime working hours. You will manage the human element of our digital service including the users, moderators, counsellors, therapists and volunteers. You will take a keen interest in the wellbeing of our users and through curiosity and compassion ensure that they receive the best support that we can provide. You will succeed in this role if have experience of counselling, youth or social work and you are a good communicator who is able to win the trust of your team through compassionate accountability.

As Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) you will take primary responsibility for safeguarding and child protection within Tellmi. You will act as a point of contact for staff and volunteers, providing advice and support on child welfare and protection matters relating to our users. You will manage safeguarding concerns, liaise with external agencies especially in commissioned areas and ensure the company’s safeguarding policies are up-to-date and effective. Although an important responsibility the DSL element is a relatively small part of the overall role.

You will report directly to the Co-CEOs. We are looking for someone who is highly proactive, totally reliable and is eager to take the initiative to help us continually improve the service. We will expect you to enjoy learning and actively pursue continual professional development to ensure that you are fully up to date with the latest policies, regulations and guidance related to your role. You will be expected to share in the on-call remote support of moderators, counsellors and therapists in the evenings and weekends.

YOUR SPECIFIC DUTIES

Moderation, counselling and supervision (15%)

• Responsible for responding to high risk users during the day including emergency third party disclosures if required.

• Providing occasional cover for moderation or counsellors at any point during the operational hours.

• On call for ad hoc support of counsellors and therapists during evenings and weekends (typically three to four times a week).

Management and oversight of moderators, counsellors, therapists and volunteers (25%)

• Organise and manage rotas for moderators/counsellors.

• Process and monitor referrals for Tellmi Therapy.

• Performance manage and oversee quality control of moderators, counsellors and therapists.

• Maintain and develop guidance, training, policies and operating procedures (SOPs).

• Be the first point of contact for moderators, counsellors and therapists to support with operational issues and queries. 

• Facilitate peer supervision sessions for counsellors and therapists

• Manage recruitment of new moderators, counsellors and therapists including identifying workforce needs.

• Deliver moderation, counsellor and therapist training.

• Provide strategic oversight and operational support for the SuperPeer volunteer programme.

• Provide occasional support with training of the SuperPeer volunteers.

Designated Safeguarding Lead (10-15%)

• Maintain a level 3 safeguarding qualification and other relevant CPD for both children and adults

• Ensure that all staff and contracted staff maintain the safeguarding qualification appropriate to their role.

• Have primary responsibility for safeguarding for children and adults across the company (users and staff).

• Maintain and develop the Tellmi Safeguarding policy.

• Be on call for urgent safeguarding matters.

• Identify, monitor and create support plans for complex Tellmi users.

• Be the named Caldicot Guardian (training provided if needed).

• Write safeguarding and incident reports.

App operations (40%)

• Monitor for issues arising on the app and report as appropriate.

• Make use of data generated by the app to monitor and report on the general performance of the Tellmi service.

• Contribute to the management of the Tellmi Directory.

• Use knowledge of user behaviour and app operations to contribute to the development of the app.

• Line manage the Operations Assistant.

• Collate user feedback.

• Manage user accounts and permissions on the Tellmi platform.

• Contribute to the maintenance and updates of company policies.

• Respond to email queries from users and others.

• Manage and setup of in app Notices to users including Tellmi Therapy invites.

• Maintain strong working relationships with Co-CEOs, and other senior staff in order to ensure transparency and rapid response to arising issues.

Contract Support (5%-10%)

• Ensure that the app configuration meets needs of new commissioned areas.

• Ensure that Tellmi meets the quality requirements for the LLR ICB by creating the LLR quality report, attending quarterly review meetings and progressing resulting actions. 

• Oversee quality reporting in future commissioned areas as required.

Essential criteria:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant, with at least 10 years post qualification experience (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, ACA)

The International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) is exclusive partnering with Robertson Bell in their search for a Head of Financial Planning & Analysis to join their evolving team on a permanent basis, in this newly created role.

The Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is a key senior member of the finance team and will help shape the strategic management and direction of the team. They will support the Director of Finance and Operations, Senior Leadership Team, Trustees and budget holders to understand and interpret IIED’s finances and play a key role in the long term strategic financial planning process.

The key duties of the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis are as follows:

• Lead on strategic financial reporting to provide a clear picture of the organization’s short- and long-term financial position
• Manage the design and build of financial models to support strategic planning, project impact assessment, and forecasting
• Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop realistic forecasts and budget plans
• Develop and maintain financial models to project future financial performance
• Lead the finance business partnering function, providing support and guidance to budget holders and key stakeholders
• Ensure monthly management accounts are produced and shared with stakeholders
• Financial evaluation of project proposals to support management decision-making
• Manage and mentor the FP&A Team, providing guidance, training, and support to foster professional growth and development
• Work closely with project managers and budget holders, ensuring projects are financially sustainable and aligned with donor requirements
• Collaborate with operational teams, including HR, IT, and Procurement, to integrate financial planning with operational strategies

The successful candidate will have:

• Qualified with a recognised professional body, or be able to prove they are qualified by experience
• Experience in charity financial planning, budgeting and cost recovery model in a complex organisation
• Substantial relevant finance management experience in the not-for-profit sector
• Experience in mapping and analysing processes and identifying and implementing process improvement
• Excellent communication skills and be able to influence at all levels within the organisation
• Ability to manage, support and develop diverse teams to work effectively together and with the rest of the organisation
• Ideally, experience of accounting within a grant receiving organisation

This role is offered on a hybrid working basis, with only occasional travel required, just a few times per month, to either the London or Edinburgh office for key meetings.
