When a person or their family member sustains a spinal cord injury it is a life changing experience. They can experience a huge drop in confidence, lose their independence and can feel isolated and that no one understands what they’re going through. Back Up was started by volunteers and our volunteers remain at the heart of everything we do, including shaping and delivering our range of services.

The Volunteer Development Assistant will be the main point of contact for volunteer enquiries and requests and will work across Back Up to understand volunteer needs in order for the volunteer team to grow and support delivery of our life changing services. They will be responsible for the administration and coordination of the annual calendar of volunteer training events ensuring that prospective volunteers feel supported and well prepared, and everything is in place for delivery of high-quality training.

Lived experience is an advantage; but most important is you sharing our commitment to transform the lives of everyone affected by spinal cord injury.

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Programme Coordinator is co-ordinate with all parties (Community Engagement Manager, the Programme Manager, LMK Leaders and the host organisations) to enable LMK to deliver high quality workshops for young people/youth work professionals/workplaces. 

Acting as the lynchpin of the organisation’s delivery team, the Programme Coordinator takes the workshop brief from the LMK Community Engagement Manager and then works with the Programme Manager to secure facilitators (LMK leaders), ensures the host organisation receives all supporting information, and provides LMK Leaders with the resources they need to deliver the workshop effectively. This role is also responsible for regular reporting about workshop bookings and delivery. 

Reporting to our CEO, the successful candidate will be part of LMK’s core staff team. You will work with LMK staff, LMK Leaders, members of our Youth Advisory Board, trustees and key stakeholders to develop and implement our long-term strategy. 

Key responsibilities: 

• Provide excellent customer service to organisations who are hosting LMK workshops, ensuring that all communication is timely and accurate, and any questions are responded to in full.

• Liaise with the Programme Manager and LMK Leaders to ensure there is clear understanding around their areas of expertise, availability and any specific considerations that need to be taken into account when delivering workshops.

• Open up opportunities to deliver workshops to any Leader applicable, ensuring the allocation of workshops is done fairly and consistently.

• Ensure LMK leaders have the information and resources required to deliver their workshop.

• Work closely with the Research and Evaluation Manager to ensure that the correct evaluation surveys are made available to workshop participants. 

• Work with our Head of Fundraising to track workshop delivery against funder commitments.

• Keep the CRM system data up to date in a timely way.

• Produce regular reports for the CEO on the booking and delivery of workshops, as well as any ad-hoc reports requested. 

• Share Leader evaluation feedback from workshops with Leaders.

• Check invoices submitted by LMK leaders, and work with the Programme Manager to get them approved. 

• Support the Programme Manager to organise LMK Leader Huddles and training events.

• Comply with our policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, confidentiality, complaints and data protection.

Person specification

• At least 2 years’ experience in an event management/admin management/executive assistant/operations role where there was a strong requirement to work with multiple stakeholders internally and externally.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an excellent track record of customer service.

• Proven ability to work well within a team.

• Highly organised to manage a diverse workload with excellent time management and ability to pay attention to detail.

• Excellent organisational skills, with a keen attention to detail.

• Creative thinker with the ability to problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent IT skills across core MS/Google packages, ideally with experience of CRM use

What We Are Looking For:  

We are seeking a dedicated, proactive and compassionate group support co-ordinator to lead the further development, delivery, and integration of Self Injury Support’s community-based group support programme, with a focus on accessibility and reaching and engaging with diverse communities across the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire area. 

About the Position    

Group Support Co-ordinator  

Pay grade: NJC Grade Point 24 - £33,024 per annum pro-rata based on a three-day working week comprising 21 hours per week (£18,797). 

Hours: 21 per week, with some flexibility as to how these hours are delivered; including meetings and groups in the community and office-based work. 

Location: Central Bristol, community venues across the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire area.

Duties and responsibilities 

Service Development 

Consultation and Outreach 

1. Consult with current and potential group participants and draw on existing service data analysis to inform the content, locations, timings and other details of a groups programme for people affected by self-harm, following on from previous pilot groups run in 2023 and 2024 
2. Analyse consultation and service data and in collaboration with team members decide on groups programme themes 

Community Connections and Groups Development 

1. Connect with and become a member of a range of relevant community networks in the local area to both share service information and learning, and learn about range of wider community support available 
2. Connect with and build a database of potential facilitators and venues
3. Develop a rolling groups calendar with a core ongoing peer support group and time-limited specialist groups 
4. Build on existing processes and further develop processes and procedures to ensure robust record keeping, partnership agreements and safeguarding processes are in place that are GDPR compliant 
5. In collaboration with other Self Injury Support services, explore areas of overlap, potential for shared learning and joint working 
6. In collaboration with other Self Injury Support services, develop processes and procedures to support inclusivity and accessibility, including the administration of an accessibility fund for participants 

Service Delivery 

Groups Promotion and Delivery 

1. Handle groups logistics such as booking specialist facilitators, venues, refreshments and materials in line with budget
2. In collaboration with the Communications Officer develop print and digital promotional materials and develop a dissemination plan 
3. In collaboration with other Self Injury Support services, conduct outreach work to promote the groups programme to other relevant community groups and organisations 
4. Respond to group programme enquiries and bookings, keep accurate, GDPR compliant records of participants, send information to participants in a timely manner 
5. Administer the accessibility fund with support from the Finance Administrator 
6. Support the delivery of groups in collaboration with other Self Injury Support team members 
7. In collaboration with the Self Injury Support safeguarding team, ensure all safeguarding concerns are addressed promptly and recorded in line with organisational policy 
8. Take part in personal reflective practice and professional development training as needed 

Review and Evaluation 

1. Plan appropriate evaluation and monitoring of the groups programme which encompasses the experiences of participants and facilitators and aligns with wider organisational service monitoring 
2. Present evaluation findings in reports for the board of trustees and funders as needed

The Role

The PR Manager plays a central role, working closely with the Head of Media to manage the public relations function of the charity. You will be responsible for helping to develop and execute prominent and high impact national and regional media campaigns, to help people better understand the mission and take action to support it.

Your main duties and responsibilities include:

· Generate regular, positive, proactive media coverage

· Proactively sell stories into the media as well as react to incoming enquiries

· Work with the Head of Media to develop impactful press strategies in line with the wider PR strategy

Bow Foodbank is proud  to have developed a highly trusted relationship with our guests and the community. We are often the first point of call for people when they are starting to struggle financially. Volunteers are involved in every area of foodbank life, from carrying out day-to-day tasks to supporting back office functions and governance of the Foodbank. You will support the Operations Manager in ensuring volunteers are equipped to come to our sessions and support the work of the foodbank. You will be responsible for managing every stage of the volunteer journey, from onboarding to providing feedback.

Micro Rainbow is a leading UK organisation working with LGBTQI people seeking asylum and LGBTQI refugees to enable them to live in safety, with dignity and to rebuild their lives. QAC is a charity that runs a college, supported living (known as Independence Plus) and community services for young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities.

The College has been at its current location since 1903. Our original purpose was to provide education for young people who were blind or visually impaired. Programme Manager role

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and committed Programme Manager(s) to join our existing Programme Team in September 2024 on a full or part-time basis (6-month fixed-term with potential to extend).  As a Programme Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Yes Futures programmes in-person, in our partner primary and secondary schools in North London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire.

Main Responsibilities

You will be one of a small team of Programme Managers, dedicated to delivering excellent programmes which make a positive difference to the lives of students.  The main responsibilities of the Programme Manager role are:

Programme delivery

• Responsible for the care and wellbeing of all students in your schools on the programme;

• Facilitating the in-person and online volunteer coaching team to deliver student coaching sessions. As well as delivering coaching sessions to students, where required;
• Developing business and charity partnerships for day trips;
• Planning and delivering the day trips included in the programme;
• Supporting the planning and delivery of the Into the Wild residentials;
• Implementing discipline procedures, including reporting serious discipline issues;
• Implementing all necessary Health and Safety and Child Protection procedures, including recording and reporting any incidents;
• Ongoing communication with the school and Yes Futures head office regarding student engagement and progress.

Organisation and administration

• School onboarding, including ensuring that dates are planned, students are recruited and parental agreements are returned;
• Planning and organising the logistical elements of the programme (timetables, activities, sessions plans etc) through liaising with Yes Futures head office, school staff, businesses, charitable organisations and the rest of the Coaching team;
• Creation of Risk Assessments, parent letters and programme-related documents for schools;
• Sourcing materials needed for programme sessions, including lunches for trips;
• Assisting with finance and petty cash where required.

Management of volunteer Yes Futures Coaches

• Managing and developing the skills of your Coaching teams (usually 2-6 adults per school);
• Ongoing communication with your Coaching teams, to foster their enthusiasm and commitment;
• Supporting Coach recruitment for future programmes;
• Supporting the planning and delivery of training for Coaches;
• Maintaining accurate and secure records of Coaches’ personal information, absences, sickness and other relevant information.

Evaluation and reporting

• Facilitating the pre-, mid- and end of programme evaluations;
• Oversight and input of key student monitoring data and impact data;
• Debriefing and ongoing feedback collection from schools and Coaches;
• Ensure all work is carried out in an effective and timely manner to support continued high standards of the Yes Futures programmes.

Programme Managers will also be given the opportunity to support with other Head Office functions, including but not limited to:

• Strengthening our strategy, programme design and theory of change;
• Supporting the marketing of Yes Futures to new schools and customers;
• Developing our fundraising strategy through bid writing and other fundraising tasks;
• Establishing relationships with key partner organisations;
• Planning our future Ambassador offer and other pilot programmes.

Our young carers team are commissioned by statutory services to provide one-to-one support and opportunities for time out and fun to young carers across Surrey.

We are looking for an adaptable and confident leader to line manage a team of five remote-working staff, who are passionate about supporting children and young people and helping them reach the best possible outcomes.

You will either be an experienced line manager, looking for a role that can offer you flexibility, a great work-life balance and the opportunity to manage a team who really care about the work that they do. Or you will have supervisory experience and be looking for your next role. Key Responsibilities

• To motivate, encourage and lead a team of front-line staff.

About You

• You will be a confident leader and have the management skills to effectively lead and motivate a team
• You will have a proven professional experience of working with children, young people and families
• You will have a systematic approach to your work, particularly with monitoring, recording and managing outcomes for young carers, and be able to coach your team in order to achieve the same.
• You will have experience of recording service user information on databases and have confidence in using a range software packages.
• You will have a clear and confident communication style, and be able to engage effectively and inspire professionals, young carers and your own team.
• You will have had a proven work history in managing safeguarding concerns and have a good understanding of data protection legislation.

Events and activities for Young Carers are held during evenings, weekends and the school holiday period.  You must be available to attend these events from time-to-time for monitoring and coaching purposes and to provide cover, for example in the event of sickness.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Research and Evaluation Manager. The primary focus will be on leading our research and evaluation to demonstrate and maximise our impact for young people, funders and wider sector stakeholders, along with driving our journey towards becoming a gold-standard learning organisation.

We are committed to putting children and young people at the heart of everything we do and making sure we learn from and continuously improve the impact of our services. This role is critical to our ability to demonstrate our impact, innovation, and thought leadership and to support our strategic goals.
