We also work with other relevant trade associations on an international level to share best practice and ensure we are able to react to and shape policy on a global basis.

What you’ll be doing
The post holder will help advance Ukie’s policy work on aspects of UK and international policy impacting the games and interactive entertainment industry through:

Monitoring policy changes and providing in-depth analysis, research, and reports for internal stakeholders.

Relationship building and engagement with Ukie members and wider sector stakeholders, including attendance at internal and external stakeholder meetings and coalition industry groups.
-
Support the Senior Policy Manager in research and drafting for Ukie’s external consultation responses, co-ordinating with members and facilitating internal forums for discussions on particular issues.
-
Support in organising events and engagement with policy makers within Whitehall, Westminster, the Devolved Governments and with regional, combined and local authorities as well as with our global partners in the EU, US and further afield.

Assisting the policy and research teams with major public affairs projects and campaigns according to the Ukie’s internal strategy and drawing on Ukie’s internal data and external partners where appropriate.

Supporting and promoting Ukie at external political meetings, including our bi-annual Westminster Games Week.

Support in raising the profile of Ukie and its significant policy priorities through external communications in partnership with the Ukie campaigns team, and through public scrutiny such as the use of written parliamentary questions.

Acting as the lead point of contact for the APPG on Video Games and Esports to which Ukie acts as the secretariat and taking joint responsibility for liaising with its members.

Draft external policy communications such as the Ukie Policy Byte, the bi-weekly political newsletter, with support from Senior Policy Manager and Head of Policy where necessary.

Be responsible for the team administration of internal stakeholder meetings, including sending out invites, taking minutes and preparing relevant material as well as maintaining up to date email lists of all stakeholders.
Relationship Management

Develop and maintain relationships with games industry member businesses and a wide range of external bodies; including partner organisations, government officials and other trade bodies.

Support the Senior Policy Manager and Head of Policy in the management of Ukie’s internal stakeholder groups – including Ukie’s policy group and its various working sub groups.

Maintain stakeholder engagement trackers and act as a point of contact for external engagement with Parliamentarians, regional politicians and their offices.

Support the Head of Policy and Chief Executive in any external engagements.

Support the policy team and wider Senior Management team with other reasonable tasks as required.
Qualifications and experience required for this role: Qualified by experience. You don’t need to hold a degree to apply for this role, but experience of working in a policy or government affairs facing role, public affairs agency or regulatory environment would be advantageous. On-the-job training will be provided via Ukie or external providers where appropriate and will be part of a structured development plan.

Expectation that some evening and weekend work may be required to attend or run Ukie events as the business requires.

As part of our mission to promote and protect hospice care for all, it is critical that our communications team keeps it high on the agenda. We’ve built huge momentum – whether with regular national TV news coverage, a rapidly growing online supporter base, or though our recently overhauled brand. But we need a savvy, politically switched-on Head of Communications and Campaigns to keep that going, and to make it pay off.
Hospices are amongst our most loved community charities, and our job as the national charity for hospice care is to rally the public – as well as major donors like companies and trusts – to support these brilliant organisations.
You’ll need a strong eye for a story, and an integrated understanding of the full spectrum of communications, campaigns and marketing. You’ll likely be a specialist in one area – which is fine – but we want someone who can join the dots, spot the opportunities, and inspire a team of specialists.

We are looking for a proactive and compassionate Male Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to join the Ashraya Project supporting Male Victims & Survivors.

The Role
As a Male Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will ensure that male survivors’ safety & housing needs are met. You will provide specialist support at the moment of crisis, providing advocacy & support to access safe accommodation ensuring the safety, security & dignity of service users & their children.

BACKGROUND
Ashiana is a ‘by and for’ women's led BME VAWG service with 30 years’ experience in delivering a holistic range of specialist services to South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern women affected by VAWG.
OUR SERVICES
Ashiana runs three refuges with a total of 29 bedspaces; specifically for women aged 16-35 fleeing forced marriage. This multi award winning project is the only service of its kind in the UK and is highly innovative in terms of addressing an area of significant need not met in other refuge provision. Within these refuges we designate a number of bedspaces for women with no recourse to public funds. We offer an advice and support service to women and girls who are experiencing VAWG, enabling them to make informed decisions and exit violent relationships. We provide a legal service supporting women with no recourse to public funds to help resolve their immigration status.
Counselling is offered for women and girls affected by VAWG. The counselling service works from an integrative stance, with the focus of providing a holistic service whereby we also work alongside other services and provide specialist domestic violence group work. The emphasis of therapeutic work with our clients is from a trauma informed model.
We also deliver an education programme for young people in secondary schools in East London aimed at preventing domestic violence and enabling young people experiencing domestic violence to access appropriate services. The prevention service includes delivering a whole school approach in schools to young people as well as group work to women and girls across North East London boroughs as well as community engagement activities and delivery. We deliver a range of awareness raising workshops for young people in the community and training on domestic violence for professionals in the voluntary and statutory sector.
PRIMARY TASK
The post is instrumental in overseeing the delivery of a comprehensive package of services and care for women in our refuges. To provide a safe environment and a service that is appropriate to the needs of young BME women particularly those from South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern communities and to support ex-clients following resettlement.
The post holder will have a caseload of clients and be responsible for providing advice, advocacy, casework and support to women and girls, advocating on behalf of these women and making others aware of their particular needs. MAIN DUTIES:

To provide advocacy and active case support in person or remotely to clients in England and Wales, throughout the NHS continuing healthcare assessment process.
Please note: some assessments will be completed virtually via videoconference whereas others are completed in-person. Applicants will need to be comfortable with both working from home and also regular long-distance travel to assessment meetings across England and Wales (including overnight stays where necessary), often with only two or three days’ notice.
- To analytically examine all relevant care records and assessments in preparation for continuing healthcare assessments and reviews, to prepare clients for their assessment and provide robust advocacy at assessment meetings based upon a sound understanding of the facts, and referencing evidence compiled from such records.
- To provide advocacy and casework to clients who wish to make a formal complaint through the NHS complaints procedure about a continuing healthcare-related matter from a sound understanding of the facts, having prepared key arguments by researching relevant records.
- To support the casework team from time to time in the preparation of submissions which will be presented to relevant Integrated Care Boards and NHS England panels.
- To provide specialist information and advice to our clients tailored to their specific situation and needs regarding the interpretation of a primary health need from a thorough understanding of relevant criteria, assessment frameworks and legal tests which are based upon case-law.

- To provide an independent and comprehensive casework, advisory and advocacy service to private and NHS-referred clients (typically health and social care service users or their representatives) in England and Wales throughout the entire NHS Continuing Healthcare assessment, appeal and care planning process from initial assessment stage through to complaints to the Ombudsman.
- To provide specialist information and advice to our clients tailored to their specific situation and needs regarding the interpretation of a primary health need from a thorough understanding of relevant criteria, assessment frameworks and legal tests which are based upon case-law.
- Provide advocacy and active case support remotely and in person to clients in England and Wales, and their representatives throughout the appeal and complaint processes, and occassionally assessments. This will include periodic travel to assessments and appeal meetings across England and Wales (including overnight stays where necessary), as well as attending virtual meetings via videoconference.Please note: most meetings are now completed virtually via videoconference, however a small number of in-person meetings are still taking place. Special Events Coordinator (Fundraising)
Salary £31,000 - £33,000 per annum - subject to skills and experience
Hours of work 37.5 hours a week over five days (due to the nature of this role,
some anti-social hours working will be required)
Base Hybrid working for the foreseeable future, with attendance in the office two days a week, including one day being a Thursday at our central office:

The role
The special events coordinator will report to the special events manager.
We have a great opportunity for an experienced and proactive special events coordinator to join our dynamic philanthropy & campaign team at the Royal Free Charity. This is a role for someone with proven experience of delivering high-quality events end to end - someone who thrives on the detail, keeps things running like clockwork and brings creativity and poise under pressure.
You will be instrumental in delivering bespoke, high-value experiences such as private dinners, small group tours, donor visits and our flagship annual event, The Marsden Lecture. These are carefully curated opportunities to inspire generosity and deepen relationships with key supporters. You will work closely with internal teams and senior stakeholders, so diplomacy, adaptability and strong interpersonal skills are essential. Principal responsibilities
Event planning and coordination
· Develop event concepts and themes, create detailed event plans and coordinate all logistical aspects of events of events falling within the remit of this role.
· Work closely with the philanthropy and campaign team to design and implement special events that maximise fundraising potential.
Stewardship events
· Plan and manage events to acknowledge and appreciate donors, facilitating their continued support and engagement with the charity.
Engagement activities
· Organise and execute events that foster engagement and increase awareness of the charity's mission and goals.
Supporting the new cancer campaign
· Prepare for campaign events in support of a £50m campaign for a ground-breaking cancer centre on the Royal Free Hospital site.
Vendor management
· Whether on-site at one of our hospitals or at an external venue, take responsibility for sourcing, negotiating and managing relationships with vendors, including caterers, suppliers and on-site partners.
Budget management
· Create and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards.
Communications and promotion
· Collaborate with the communications team to develop promotional materials and strategies to maximise event attendance and engagement.
RSVP management
· Managing the RSVP mailbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses to event invitations and queries.
Database management
· Maintain and update event-related databases, ensuring accurate records of participants, donors and sponsors.
Relationship management
· Act as the main point of contact for colleagues, donors and contractors, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the event planning and delivery process.
Portfolio manager support
· Assist portfolio managers in engaging with prospects and donors effectively, providing event-related insights and facilitating meaningful connections.
On-site coordination
· Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring all elements are in place and events run smoothly.
Post-event evaluation
· Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
Oversight and responsibility
· Manage risk assessment, risk management and first aid training to ensure the safety and well-being of all event participants.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications
· No specific qualifications are required, but a good level of numeracy and literacy is essential.
Experience
Essential
· Significant events delivery experience, ideally within the not-for-profit sector.
· Proven track record in developing and managing events on time and ensuring they are in line with budget (managed by the special events manager), achieving key performance indicators and receiving positive feedback from guests.
· Evidence of outstanding planning skills to deliver complex projects.
Desirable
· Experience of leading on the creation and implementation of innovative events that are tailored towards a specific audience’s interests.
Skills and knowledge
Essential
· A keen interest in the fundraising sector, with a desire to learn and grow in the role.
· An excellent eye for detail.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including diplomacy and the ability to negotiate.
· Committed to achieving objectives and delivering a high-quality service to agreed timescales.
· Excellent IT skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and experience of using a CRM.
Desirable
· Understanding of the events sector and appropriate techniques and approaches for a major donor audience.
· Ability to develop and monitor budgets.
· Understanding of major donor fundraising and the role events can play in successful cultivation of relationships (ideally learned through direct experience).
· Ability to contribute to a collaborative and agile team, enabling others to learn and deliver and celebrating successes.
· Ability to:

- Knowledge of fundraising regulations and best practice including Gift Aid and GDPR.
The team
Our dynamic fundraising department generated £4.5m through donations in 2023/24, and we are now preparing for an ambitious multi-million-pound campaign in support of a ground-breaking cancer centre on the site of the Royal Free Hospital.
We pride ourselves on being a supporter focused and agile function, working at the heart of the charity to deliver impact for patients and staff across our hospitals.
Responsible for attracting and retaining donors, and delivering an outstanding supporter experience, the fundraising department comprises two teams which work closely together to achieve our shared objectives:
·Our philanthropy & campaigns team builds relationships with individual philanthropists, trusts, foundations, corporate organisations and intermediaries, giving or facilitating donations of £10,000 or more to the charity each year. They lead major appeal activity for the charity, currently focused on our forthcoming cancer campaign, the charity’s first patron programme, and special events to support these activities.
·Our public fundraising team harnesses the support and energy of individuals and groups, helping them to give back in the way that works for them. This includes committed giving, in memory support, gifts in wills, and fundraising events and challenges.
·Our database and supporter care colleagues underpin and support the entire department.
