We’re looking for a talented Database Manager who can turn data into knowledge, helping us build meaningful relationships with our supporters and grow the income that makes our care possible.
Hours: 20 hours per week. Hybrid working preferred although fully remote will be considered.
What is the role?
You’ll take ownership of our Raiser’s Edge database, ensuring it is accurate, efficient and used to its full potential across our fundraising and supporter engagement teams.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across fundraising, IT and finance, you’ll help us better understand our supporters, improve how we work, and make smarter decisions that support our long-term sustainability.
You’ll be joining us at an exciting time, with a new strategy in place and ambitious plans — giving you real scope to shape how data is used across the organisation.

JOB PURPOSE
We are a team with a desire to provide excellent stewardship to our donors and maximise our fundraising potential in the UK. As the first point of contact, this role plays a vital part in ensuring our supporters receive a high standard of customer service.
You will manage our supporter care inbox and phone line, handling everything from donation enquiries to complaints with empathy and efficiency. You will also support with processing post and ensure our donors receive the appropriate acknowledgement for their support.

Role Responsibilities
- Manage and respond to those who contact UK for UNHCR directly by email, phone or mail and escalate queries where necessary.
- Deliver a first-class supporter experience and ensure each point-of-contact works to build and develop the engagement journey.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date supporter records within the charity database, assist with data administration, and ensure data is handled in accordance with regulations.
- Champion supporter care best practice by resolving supporter pain points, sharing supporter insights and feedback with colleagues, and supporting fundraising teams in evaluating campaign performance to identify opportunities to improve the supporter journey.
- Assist with fulfilment agency briefs and quality control measures.
- Work with teams, agencies and third-party platforms to deliver donation processing and campaign fulfilment, ensuring efficient donor acknowledgment
- Support fundraising teams during emergencies.
- Support the fundraising team to deliver high quality in person events in as well as virtual stewardship events.
- Provide personalised in-house thanking for different supporter segments and deliver thanking initiatives such as a thankathons.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for supporter engagement activities and stewardship events, including coordination of materials, attendance lists and on-the-day support.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced, driven and creative Marketing and Events Manager who brings a genuine passion for fundraising and events — and the skills to match. This is not primarily a desk-based marketing role: you will be the engine behind our events programme and a key driver of our fundraising income.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the planning and delivery of CWC’s events calendar, manage our fundraising activities, and oversee the work of the Marketing and Events Officer. You will be equally comfortable developing the strategy and getting stuck into the detail of execution.
Events will be at the heart of what you do. You will take ownership of our flagship event, coordinate a varied programme of fundraising events, sector conferences and networking activities, and ensure every event is professionally delivered and leaves supporters feeling connected to our mission. You will manage relationships with venues, suppliers and sponsors, and keep a close eye on budgets and income targets.
Fundraising will be a core focus. You will be responsible for achieving financial targets from individual and corporate fundraising, developing creative campaigns across platforms such as Enthuse and JustGiving, and building the kind of relationships with supporters and partners that turn one-off donations into long-term engagement.
Alongside this, you will lead and support the Marketing and Events Officer, ensuring our marketing output — social media, newsletters, website content and campaigns — is consistent, engaging and aligned with our strategic goals.
About You
You will have a proven track record in events management and fundraising, ideally within the charity sector. You know what it takes to plan and deliver events from first concept through to post-event evaluation, and you understand how events can drive income as well as awareness.
You will be a confident, organised and proactive person who can manage competing priorities without losing sight of quality or deadlines. You will be comfortable working independently, managing your own workload and supporting others to manage theirs.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A proven track record in events management, with demonstrable experience of delivering fundraising income from events
- At least two years’ experience in a charity fundraising or events role
- Experience of line managing or supervising others
- Excellent relationship-building skills with sponsors, corporate partners and individual supporters
- Confidence using fundraising platforms (e.g. Enthuse, JustGiving) and CRM/database systems (Hubspot experience an advantage)
- Strong working knowledge of social media platforms, email marketing tools and website content management
- Experience managing budgets, monitoring income and expenditure, and reporting on financial performance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong project management skills
- Genuine enthusiasm for the charity’s mission and the people we support
Knowledge of the health and social care sector would be a distinct advantage, though not essential.

About MediCinema
MediCinema is a unique national, UK registered charity that improves the wellbeing and enriches the quality of life of NHS patients, their families and carers through the power of the shared cinema experience and the magic of film. We achieve this by building and running cinemas in hospitals and places of care equipped with space for beds, wheelchairs and medical equipment, and providing free films and activities for patients of all ages. Our services help to improve emotional, mental and physical health, reducing isolation, anxiety and stress, and increasing patient resilience to help them cope with what they’re going through.
Our purpose-built in-hospital cinemas are designed to accommodate patients in hospital beds and wheelchairs, on drips or with monitors. Patients are looked after by trained volunteers who accompany them to and from the cinemas, and by two nurses who are present at each inpatient screening. In addition to our regular inpatient screenings, we run Tailored Screenings for specific patient communities, working closely with the patients and clinical teams to co-design experiences that meet the specific needs of each group. We also routinely hold personal screenings for patients who are unable to mix with other patients, are receiving palliative care or are in other sensitive situations. We also run our varied Beyond the Big Screen programme that extends the impact of our services to outside the film screenings, including specially-designed MediCinema activity books, arts & crafts and special character or talent visits. Finally, through our long-standing strategic partnership with Disney, we also design and provide activities on wards and in the MediCinemas as part of our expansive and impactful ‘Moments that Matter’ (MTM) programme.
The Role
We are looking for a Deputy Cinema Manager to join the team at our established MediCinema based in Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle, serving adult patients from the RVI and paediatric patients in the Great North Children’s Hospital.
The post-holder will work with the Cinema Manager and the team of nurses and volunteers who support our MediCinema, and will work closely with them, the hospital, and with central office operations team to prepare for and run successful film screenings each week.
We run 4 regular inpatient screenings each week which includes evenings and weekends. The post holder will be required to work on a shift pattern to include weekends and evenings each week. There will also be a programme of additional Tailored and Personal screenings on top of these regular inpatient screenings.
The role offers a unique, exciting and extremely rewarding opportunity for someone interested in a service delivery role at the heart of our charity, involving direct contact with the patients and families we support.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Service Delivery
- Support the Cinema Manager in delivering a programme of screenings each week as agreed according to the operating procedures of a MediCinema, including running and managing screenings on your own. Most screenings are held in the evenings and at weekends, so the role requires regular evening and Saturday working.
- On screening days be responsible for:
- Marketing the service through the hospital’s wards, organising collecting and returning patients, and for safety and care in the cinema itself.
- Taking responsibility for health and safety of patients coming to the cinema, and the safety and appearance of the cinema space itself.
- Preparing and operating the digital projection equipment for the screening, ensuring that films are always screened to the highest technical standards. Training and ongoing technical support will be provided for this.
- Ensuring that all operational, welfare and safeguarding policies set out by MediCinema are followed accordingly and that, where appropriate, consent forms are obtained for photographic or filmed records.
- Ensuring that all aspects of the operation comply with relevant health and safety legislation, and that areas where MediCinema might be in breach of such are dealt with immediately or brought to the attention of the appropriate authorities for rectification.
- Keeping accurate monitoring and operational records, including contacts and database updating as required
- Help the Cinema Manager collate, analyse and report back on agreed metrics and KPI’s
- Assist with arranging and running any special events and special screenings
- When required, arrange and run additional personal screenings for patients unable to attend regular screenings, plus special tailored screenings with hospital departments and patient groups.
- Support the development and roll out of any new type of screenings we embark on.
- Support the delivery of our ‘Beyond the Big Screen' bedside services, including our Disney ‘Moments that Matter’ work.
Nurse & Volunteer Management
- Help the Cinema Manager build, manage and support the team of nurses and volunteers to assist in the duties outlined above and to ensure that screenings run safely and smoothly – this will include assisting with recruitment and creating monthly rotas.
Marketing and Relationship Management
- Be proactive in marketing the service within the hospital, building key relationships with hospital staff.
- Help develop and manage effective partnerships throughout the hospital and community
- Representing the organisation effectively and compellingly at all times.
- Support the programming and development of the MediCinema as a centre for entertainment, being pro-active in developing a creative programme of sustainable events at each site. This could include fundraising events, live performance and other relevant activities.
Administration and other duties
- Deputise for the Cinema Manager as and when required.
- Provide holiday or emergency screening cover when required.
- Help manage the collection, loading and returning of films.
- Champion the work of MediCinema within the hospital and cinema environment, as well as confidently and positively representing MediCinema in all interactions and at any meetings and events.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the Newcastle MediCinema, operations and MediCinema as a wider organisation
- Communicate effectively with all team members, ensuring an inclusive and whole organisation approach
- Undertake other tasks, projects and duties as reasonably required.
MediCinema is a small team and staff members are expected to support each other and share cross-organisational work in addition to fulfilling individual responsibilities.
The Person
We are looking for a high energy, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is passionate about helping people and delivering impactful and effective services. They should be a warm, welcoming and positive person who can demonstrate the following skills and qualities:
- Strong organisational skills with a good attention to detail.

- Experience in using IT and an ability to quickly learn and understand new systems and technology. Please note full training on ingesting films and running the projection equipment will be provided so direct projection experience, while beneficial, is not required.

Senior Legacy & In Memory Marketing Manager - FTC
The gifts in Wills and in memory marketing team is responsible for raising awareness, generating income, and mass stewardship of the incredible people who support the charity in this way. The role of the Senior Legacy and In Memory Marketing Manager is to lead this high-performing team; to set and deliver the strategy to maximise gifts in Wills acquisition, conversions and long-term income; and to implement the transformative new in memory strategy within the team and across the charity.
This is a 9-month FTC or on return of substantive postholder.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Development of Gifts in Wills and In Memory Marketing
· Work with the Head of Legacy and In Memory Giving to define and deliver priorities for the team, including support on developing a new legacy strategy.
· Contribute to the generation of £23m of income annually across gifts in Wills and in memory, working to maintain the pipeline from top of funnel onwards to ensure that this income continues to grow in line with strategic plans.
· Lead annual operational planning and development of legacy and in memory marketing strategies and plans, including making recommendations on team structure and resource.
· Work with the Head of Legacy and In Memory Giving and the Legacy Relationship Manager to ensure continued awareness, alignment and support for gifts in Wills and in memory across the charity.
· Work with the Head of Legacy and In Memory Giving and the Legacy Relationship Manager and Legacy Casework Manager to ensure continued alignment between the work of marketing, case management and relationship management.
· Implement and continue to develop the new in memory strategy.
Line Management
· Line management of the Senior Legacy and In Memory Marketing Officer and Legacy and In Memory Marketing Officer, driving their success to ensure a highly motivated team that achieves their targets.
· Support the Senior Officer with line management of the Executive.
· Monitor, review and empower the team to continue functioning at a high level.
· Spot and maximise development opportunities across the team.
· Support cross-team working and collaboration, ensuring that the team is well-represented in cross-functional working groups and other matrix working structures.
Campaigns and Communications Management
· Accountable for the delivery of marketing activity on time, on budget and on brand across a variety of media, including a new multichannel marketing campaign centred on TV.
· Responsible for the integration of marketing activity across the charity to drive maximum value.
· Accountable for the development and delivery of an annual test and learn programme where appropriate.
· Accountable for end of campaign reviews and analysis, KPI monitoring and reporting, and proactive adaptation of plans to optimise results.
· Responsible for management of agencies to maintain positive relationships and generate the best possible outputs in line with KPIs.
Cultivation and Stewardship
· Accountable for mass stewardship of prospects, gifts in Wills and in memory supporters to ensure their positive relationship with the charity to maximise long-term value.
· Work with the Relationship Manager to ensure the synthesis of the relationship management and marketing functions.
· Work across teams to improve supporter journeys and develop understanding of their lifetime value.
· Ensure the database is maintained correctly by the Legacy and In Memory Marketing team.
Budget, planning and forecasting
· Responsible for translating strategy and operational planning into annual budgets.
· Accountable for overall team budgets and reforecasts, including legacy case management and relationship management.
· Raise the skill level of the team in relation to budgeting to increase their ability to take ownership of their respective areas.

Ways of working:
As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

The Supporter Care Officer role sits within the Supporter Services team, which forms an integral part of the Individual Giving team, within the Marketing Communications Department at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
Working alongside another Supporter Services Officer and managed by the Supporter Care Manager, you will support the delivery of our Individual Giving programme, specifically in support of our Puppy Sponsorship Scheme.
The delivery of exceptional supporter care across multiple channels lies at the heart of the Supporter Care team and forms an integral part of the Individual Giving retention strategy.
In many instances, you will be the first line of enquiry either by telephone, email, social media, or letter (and occasionally face-to-face) for Hearing Dogs’ supporters.
Building good internal relationships within our Charity is an important part of this role as you will be working with various teams.
KEY TASKS OF THE ROLE:
Stewardship
- Present a professional, positive, and proactive approach to supporter care and adherence to best practice regarding stewardship and supporter engagement.
- Be proactive in stewardship process improvement and development, maintaining up-to-date guidance notes for areas of your work.
- Ensure all interactions with supporters are logged in the CRM system and where appropriate passed on to the relevant team(s) in a timely manner.

Puppy Sponsorship
- Process telephone, post and email enquiries/donations regarding and related to the Puppy Sponsorship Scheme, and ensure that all queries are responded to and resolved within recommended stewardship guidelines and timeframes for the team.
- Assist with maintenance of Puppy Sponsorship data on the Charity’s CRM to ensure supporter records are up-to-date and accurate, flagging any issues to the Supporter Services Manager.

- Learn other aspects of Puppy Sponsorship activity and process as required, to support the wider team, and ensure that high standards of supporter care are maintained at all times, particularly noting pinch points in the team calendar.
Appeal Data & Fundraising Activity
- Prepare data for Puppy Sponsorship updates and build email communications.
- Assist with the production and cleaning of mailing files to support fundraising appeals, raffles, lotteries, and other products.
- Provide additional support to the other areas of the Supporter Services team, learning processes as necessary at times of increased fundraising activity and to ensure supporter care standards are adequately maintained during holiday periods.

What you’ll be doing
In this key leadership role, you will guide the Digital Learning & Publishing unit, ensuring our courses and publications are impactful, financially sustainable and aligned with our charitable mission. Your work will include:
- Overseeing the production and management of biodiversity training courses and natural history publications
- Leading a team to deliver both in person and digital learning experiences
- Managing budgets, business planning, and the operational performance of the unit
- Working with Marketing to grow ecommerce revenue and promote the portfolio
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with partners, authors, tutors, designers, and the wider natural history community
- Identifying new opportunities, markets, and partnerships to expand our reach
- Leading editorial workflows, rights management, licensing, and version control
- Commissioning new titles and resources that support environmental understanding
- Ensuring compliance with GDPR, safeguarding, and copyright requirements
Where you’ll be based
The base location for this position is negotiable, with remote working / home working welcomed. If you prefer working in an office environment, you can work from one of our Field Studies Centres across the UK. Hybrid working options can also be considered.
This role includes travel to Field Studies Council locations and other venues throughout the UK and will involve some overnight stays.

Purpose of the role
Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, the Community & Events Executive is an integral part of the Fundraising team, providing outstanding administrative and general fundraising support with a focus on income generation, supporter stewardship and data accuracy. The Fundraising Executive manages all incoming fundraising enquiries and provides excellent customer care and stewardship to our community and events supporters. This is a busy role, supporting colleagues across multiple areas of fundraising, including events, community, corporate and trusts fundraising.
In this role, you will undertake all key administrative, database and financial duties to ensure the smooth running of team processes and procedures.
The role provides an opportunity to develop fundraising knowledge and is perfect for someone who has a passion for building income, relationships and delivering excellent supporter care. As this is a people-facing role, you will be working with supporters over the phone, online, in writing, and face-to-face, to ensure our supporters receive the ultimate supporter journey and experience.
The post holder should have a full clean driving license and be willing to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends to attend and support events.
