At Prisoners Abroad, we support British citizens imprisoned overseas, their families at home, and people returning to the UK after prison. We are a small but powerful charity, providing life-saving support through some of the most isolating and traumatic experiences imaginable.

We’re looking for a Resettlement Officer to join our frontline team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract, working at the intersection of criminal justice, homelessness prevention and social reintegration. You’ll manage a caseload of people returning to the UK after prison abroad, providing essential support and advice around housing, benefits, mental health, and advocacy for this overlooked group, and co-facilitate support groups.

The Care Navigator will support those with long term conditions to access timely care and community support services. Working closely with Camden GP practices and Integrated Care Teams is required as is accurate record keeping using IT systems. For this role it is essential that you to have the ability to travel across Camden as the role involves visiting clients in their own homes. Summary

The Church of England Pensions Board ("the Pensions Board") is a statutory body which is corporate trustee and administrator of defined benefit (final salary, hybrid and CARE) and defined contribution pension arrangements. You'll be leading on the maintenance, design and development of scheme calculations within the departments pension administration system, Universal Pensions Management (UPM2).

Responsibilities will include:

1. Assist with the design and development of the UPM system calculations
2. Agree requirements, scope and specification of calculation changes
3. Plan and deliver a continuous program of calculation development in line with the requirements of the department
4. Plan the testing and implementation of system upgrades and software releases to ensure no adverse effect on scheme calculations
5. Maintain the technical specifications for benefit calculations
6. Implement system changes required to support the introduction of calculation amendments to member records via database updates and communication templates
7. If required, there may be need to become involved in other areas within the System team - from utilising automation to improve efficiency, to working on our Member and Employer self-service portals.

About the role

Sightsavers’ Trusts and Corporate Partnerships team is excited to be expanding its team in response to growing demands and opportunities in the trusts & foundation sector. We are recruiting for two additional Trusts & Foundations Advisors to be key contributors to the development of Sightsavers trusts and foundations programme. They will play a crucial role in the successful recruitment and cultivation of new business, while also managing a portfolio of existing trust and foundation donors primarily based in the UK, U.S and Europe.

In this role, the Advisor will be instrumental in contributing towards the team’s annual income target and supporting additional planned growth in the coming years. 

Responsibilities

• Manage and cultivate relationships with a portfolio of key trust and foundation donors for Sightsavers (up to 7-figure funding agreements) via proposals, mailings, reports, telephone or face-to-face meetings as appropriate, and coordinate donor visits, dealing with CEOs, Directors, and Trustees.
• Develop key external and internal relationships and donor engagement activities for the achievement of planned objectives with these donors.
• Research, identify, prioritise, and develop personalised engagement plans and donor strategies to cultivate new trust prospects in targeted global markets. Lead on cultivating relationships with CEOs, Directors, and Trustees, with the aim of establishing additional high-value funding relationships.
• Work proactively across the organisation, including cross-culturally, to coordinate, develop, and deliver a high standard of compelling project proposals and reports ready for submission to donors whilst ensuring excellent grant/contract management to existing donor relationships.
• Actively participate in the networks surrounding trusts and foundations, sharing information, insights, opportunities, and fundraising materials produced.

The Role:

As a member of the Work Experience team, you will play a key role in facilitating meaningful work experience placements for young people in Tower Hamlets. In this role, you'll work closely with local employers in Tower Hamlets and the City of London to support them in delivering engaging placements.

Main Duties and Responsilbilties 

Community and Events Fundraising

• Assist in the planning and execution of a diverse range of fundraising events, including challenge events and community initiatives.

Supporter Care

• Serve as the primary point of contact for community and events fundraisers, delivering outstanding stewardship ensuring they receive the information and support needed to maximise their fundraising potential while maintaining the highest standards of stewardship and being respectful of potential sensitivities particularly when working with families who are fundraising in memory.

• Provide timely and effective follow-up communications with supporters, ensuring they feel valued and engaged.

• Maintain our CRM database ensuring accurate records to track communications, income, and supporter preferences, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection laws. 

Administrative and Financial Support

• Process cash and cheque donations, Gift Aid and matched funding claims, ensuring this income is processed and recorded accurately on our database.

• Manage the distribution of supporter resources, conduct stock checks for fundraising materials and ensure an organised work environment for all fundraising assets.

• Overseeing our online shop.

Marketing and Communication

• Create engaging materials (posters, leaflets, stories etc), social media content and e-newsletters to inspire participation in fundraising activities.

• Produce impact reports and collate information for the HOF to support fundraising initiatives and grant applications.

• Ensure fundraising and associated webpages are kept up to date. Team Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with the wider team (when required) to support in-hospital and community events as well as assisting with tasks as needed to ensure smooth charity operations.

Additional Information

Salary is £30,000 - £32,000 per annum (DOE). The role covers 37.5 hours per week. Two days per week working in our charity office at Royal Brompton Hospital - London, and the remaining hours to be worked remotely. Occasional evening and weekend work subject to our events calendar. Job Purpose

• This role sits within our crisis alternative service, Safe Space, which is a core and out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. Our aim of the service is to keep individuals well in the community and prevent readmission into hospital. The service operates 365 days a year from 14:00-22:00pm across all our boroughs.
• Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone or virtual on a one-to-one basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis or preventing crisis.
• The objectives of the service include:
• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health and social crisis in HFEH.
• To proactively work with keeping people well in the community to reduce re-admitters into hospitals by working with WL NHS teams (e.g. discharge, LPS, CATT, MINT and SPA)
• To provide a true alternative to A&E via a non-clinical drop-in service to support clients
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation and crisis recovery planning.

The Role

The role of the senior support worker is to support the team manager with the smooth running of the allocated site and staff; supporting development and rest of the team including volunteer recruiting, induction (training and development) and supervision. Senior support worker will also lead in delivering interventions on a one-to-one. The role will also involve triaging and assessing all clients accessing the service, signposting and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The role will include deputising for the team manager where applicable including debriefing and providing support to the team.

This is an exciting time to join Action for ME. As you will have operational management and oversight for our Healthcare Services and hold the Designated Safeguarding Lead role for the organisation, you will bring considerable services-related experience at a management and leadership level. The Chief Executive will focus predominately on external matters and therefore you must have experience of managing an organisation to achieve high quality programmes with evidenced impact and motivated teams. You will act for the Chief Executive on topics, as agreed, and deputise during their absence.

Key duties

1. Leadership

• Ensure that children and adults with ME are at the heart of everything we do through meaningful engagement and participation to influence all aspects of our work.
• Deputise for the CEO and represent and promote the Charity at national meetings and events.
• Deputise for the CEO during periods of absence, and in relation to specific matters, issues or elements of operation as delegated from time to time by the CEO, ensuring a consistency of approach and decisions aligned with the organisation’s objectives.
• With the CEO and HR Business Partner, lead on implementing the People and Culture Strategy and ensuring our Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging plan is achieved.

2. Operations & management

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Charity ensuring high quality service provision that meets all best practice, legal and regulatory frameworks and internal policies and procedures.

Experience and Knowledge

ShareAction’s Financial Sector Research team works towards holding financial institutions accountable for their impact on globally important challenges such as tackling climate change, upholding human rights and reversing biodiversity loss.

Asset managers, insurance companies and banks hold a huge amount of influence over the world’s largest companies through their investment, lending and underwriting activities. While many of these financial institutions publicly claim to be taking environmental and social issues seriously, often, these claims do not hold up to scrutiny.

In this role, you will have many opportunities to challenge the financial sector by contributing to:

• Our financial sector benchmarks. In the first 12 months, you would primarily be working on our 2026 benchmark of some of the world’s largest insurance companies (following our 2024 report). Our research also covers asset managers and banks.
• Coordination with civil society allies and developing new collaborations with leading global NGOs.
• Engagement with financial institutions, regulators, and industry bodies to provide detailed recommendations for improvement.
• Communication of our research findings externally, for example, on webinars.

Working alongside the rest of the Financial Sector Research team, you will contribute to ShareAction’s key reports ranking financial institutions. This involves collecting information from institutions and databases, analysing quantitative and qualitative data, producing engaging graphics to communicate results and translating this analysis into actionable steps for financial institutions to take. You will collaborate with teams across ShareAction and may join meetings with financial institutions, other NGOs, or regulators to discuss this research.
