Own The Space is a campaign incubator that supports individuals and groups seeking to have a positive impact in the world. Founded just over two years ago, we are seeking a finance and team coordinator to become an integral part of our expanding team. As the Finance and Team assistant, you will have experience in an administrative and finance role and have the ability to deal effectively with suppliers, internal teams and freelance contractors.

Responsibilities: Finance

• Expense and invoice Management: Accurately file and record expenses and invoices using QuickBooks or Xero
• Payments: weekly payment run and payroll
• Cash flow reporting: Assist in preparing and maintaining monthly cash flow reports and tracking spend across projects as directed by the CFO
• VAT returns: Handle quarterly VAT returns to ensure compliance with UK financial regulations
• Tax: Provide assistance with tax preparation and compliance
• Annual returns: Support in the preparation of the annual return in collaboration with our CFO
• Data management: Maintain and update financial records in Google Sheets

Responsibilities: Team Support

• Support the maintenance of office infrastructure
• Prepare contracts for consultants and vendors and be the first point of contact for any related enquiries.
• Support on discrete research tasks regarding team management and development
• Liaise with vendors, funders and consultants as needed
• Manage organisational subscriptions and file management
• Support the leadership team as needed in the running of the organisation (for example, management of office spaces, coordination of meetings etc)

Experience

• We are looking for someone with at least two years of experience in a previous role
• Previous experience of financial accounting especially around bank reconciliations, month-end, payment run etc
• Excellent time management skills and display a high degree of computer proficiency (including Google Suite and experience of working with databases)
• Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector is preferred but not essential – although we ask for a strong commitment to social impact but this can be through volunteering, activism etc

Compensation and Benefits

• This role is two days a week. We are open to this being two full full days or the allocation being stretched across the week.
• The contract is being offered on a one year fixed-term contract at 37,000 GBP pro-rata with a strong possibility of extension

To deliver money and energy advice service for kidney patients struggling with their energy and water bills and other costs of living challenges. You will provide subject matter expert support within our Patient Support Services team, and will work closely with our Patient Support & Advocacy Officers to develop and grow this service in your area.

Summary
To raise awareness of the service and build strong relationships with kidney patients, professionals, and other kidney stakeholder groups in your defined geographic region.

Key responsibilities
• With support, establish the Kidney Care UK Money & Energy Advice Service in the region for patients and carers at risk of fuel poverty to access independent support on money and energy matters
• Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Money & Energy Advice Service across the region, effectively managing an ongoing caseload
• Provide practical advice to patients, assessing their needs and identifying sources of support to resolve financial, practical and psychosocial challenges.

We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland.  You will be home based living in the North of Scotland.

You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. You will join a team that makes a real difference to the lives of the people living with muscle-wasting conditions, and their families, in Scotland. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Some travel will be required to attend meetings and events outside of Scotland. You will work with both statutory and voluntary organisations, clinicians, and health and social care professionals to ensure that people living with muscle wasting conditions get the care and support they need to live well and independently.

The Advance Specialist Prison & Probation Advocate will support women within the prison setting, provide pre-release support, focused on Accommodation, Finance, debt & benefits, Family & significant others and Social inclusion including ‘through the gate’ support.

This exciting new role will be based in HMP Bronzefield and will support in developing referral pathways for women and work in partnership with different departments and services within the prison as well as those in the community. You will co-design an action plan with women accessing support, enabling you to support them to address their accommodation, finance, debt and benefits and health needs and any risks in relation to the interventions identified, as they prepare for release. The role will involve a combination of casework-based approach with delivery of programmes and courses, along with a signposting and advice service for the women in custody.

You will have demonstrable experience and understanding of working with women in a challenging multi-agency environment, ideally working with prisoners and/or their families.

You will build strong relationships with the Pre Release teams to ensure clients are able to maintain or access suitable accommodation, finance, benefits and debt, family and social inclusion support including negotiating terms on behalf of the women. Ensure that interventions are responsive to and meet the needs of women from diverse and minoritised backgrounds. This, together with referrals to wider partner organisations in the community, will ensure additional support needs are addressed post-release and continuity of support exists.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential

About You:

To be successful as the Advance Specialist Prison & Probation Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

Knowledge and experience of the criminal justice system obtained through academic study, experience of working in the criminal justice system (or closely associated social system).

The ability and experience as a caseworker delivering gender specific and trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of female adults in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons.

You will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a prison environment whilst remaining calm.

Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload including maintaining and updating records, remaining focused on action plan goals, and keeping to deadlines

You will have the ability to complete trauma informed, support and action plans in collaboration with the woman; to support in addressing their multiple and individual needs and enable them to engage with services, which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.

About the role

As a Fundraising Assistant, you will collaborate closely with the Supporter Relations Officer and Fundraising Officer. Your contributions will be vital to supporter relations, volunteer, and events programmes. You will serve as the welcoming face for new contacts, ensuring that fundraisers and donors feel appreciated and engaged.

You will support the delivery of our supporter engagement initiatives, crafting and editing communications across various channels, including letters, social media, and reports. Handling phone and email inquiries will be part of your role, ensuring timely follow-up on all communications. You will maintain accurate records on our CRM database, which facilitates effective communication and reporting. Additionally, you will assist in promoting events and managing community fundraisers while contributing to our volunteer programme by helping to onboard and support new volunteers.

About you

We are looking for someone who is eager to grow in the fundraising field and possesses excellent communication skills, along with the ability to build strong relationships. Ideally you will have experience in customer care and familiarity with charity operations will be beneficial. You will have brilliant communication skills and be able to write for a diverse audience.

We have a vacancy for a Mental Health Support Administrator to join our team.

Hertfordshire Mind Network is the largest charitable provider of mental health services in Hertfordshire, in terms of the number of people supported and range of services offered. We have a presence in all of the county's 10 districts, with established Wellbeing Centres across the county. Our services are available to all residents in Hertfordshire over the age of 18, and we offer dedicated services and outreach for 5-18 year olds. We provide services and support to approximately 10,000 people experiencing mental ill health each year.

Purpose of Post

As a Mental Health Support Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth process for people contacting Hertfordshire Mind (HMN) from initial contact to service provision and provide advice, information and emotional support to service users.

Key responsibilities

• To be the first point of contact and provide advice and information to HMN callers via telephone, email and in person
• To provide emotional support to people contacting HMN by telephone or in person who are experiencing emotional distress and to ensure smooth referrals into the Daylight service for clients who are in crisis and require short-term crisis resolution
• To complete and process referral forms, liaising with Service Users and colleagues 
• To accurately record client information onto the database.
• To support the smooth running of the Wellbeing Centres 
• To undertake admin duties for the Wellbeing Centre, including the distribution of mail, maintaining office supplies, and responding to internal/external e-mails
• To ensure the reception area is tidy and leaflet displays are replenished to include up to date information
• To maintain the notice boards with relevant and up to date information
• To work in line with standardised administrative systems across HMN, to maintain the general running and efficiency of the office and consistency with the other HMN offices 
• To undertake training as required and to maintain policies and procedures
• To undertake other duties as may be reasonably determined by the Head of Services or CEO.

Since 2018, Connect: North Korea (CNK) has grown from a small community start-up into an effective and impactful organisation with an annual income of approaching £500,000, mainly through grants from Trusts and Foundations. We now want to develop our individual giving programme to build our unrestricted income and secure our long term growth.

As our new Head of Individual Giving, you will be responsible for growing our income from our individual and corporate base to help us reach more vulnerable members of our community. You will lead on  individual fundraising relationships and initiatives, including appeals, fundraising campaigns, and all direct marketing activities and communications. You will position us in our supporters’ minds and encourage them to actively support CNK in 2025 and beyond.

Position: Head of Individual Giving 

Responsible to: CEO

Based at: Our offices in New Malden KT3 with some remote/home working.  We will be as flexible as possible to accommodate the right candidate.

Contract: Permanent. Full-time (35 hours per week) with occasional evening working required. Flexible hours/days possible whilst respecting core hours of 10am-4pm

Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 + 5% pension on qualifying earnings, health insurance and gym membership

The role

Your specific objectives will be to:

• Grow our individual supporter base (individual and corporate) by 30% in 2025 through new donor acquisition strategies

• Increasing our unrestricted income from major, mid and low level donors and corporate partners to £100,000 per annum in 2025 and beyond 

• Delivering impactful messages, responsive and successful direct marketing and digital fundraising campaigns

This is a really exciting opportunity for a creative ambitious self-starter who enjoys a fast paced fundraising environment, is passionate about communications, building donor relationships and driving long-term income growth.

Funding dependent, we would intend that the role also entails future promotion and staff management potential.

You have:

1) ability and enthusiasm to start up our individual giving programme (low, mid, major donors and corporate) to reach our target to raise £100,000 by end of 2025

2) creativity in creating and communicating personal stories and compelling asks that motivate our supporters to give

3) analytical understanding, strategic acumen and practical experience of the supporter journey from recruitment to regular giving, and ability to deliver this for CNK
 

Supported by the CEO, your main duties and responsibilities will be:

Strategy:

• Strategise and plan our annual individual and corporate giving programme with targets and performance indicators.This will be a key focus area within our 2025/6 corporate fundraising strategy.

• Report quarterly on progress. Use online analytics, social media insights and other metrics to help us learn, improve and grow our income from low, mid,major donors and corporate supporters.

Annual Corporate and Individual Giving Programmes:

• Develop and deliver CNK corporate and individual giving fundraising programme of events, campaigns and appeals to raise £100,000 in 2025. 

• Work closely with CEO and CNK team members to craft information into compelling copy, asks, supporter updates, social media content and personalised campaign appeals. 

• Plan and deliver low and mid level individual giving campaigns to cultivate new donors, convert existing supporters from once off donations to regular givers and inspire donors to increase their current support.

• Design and deliver our annual major donor giving programme. Cultivate, communicate and inspire new major donors to join us with the aim of increasing our current major donor pool by 10%. Steward current donors, keep in touch, craft compelling asks to support their progression towards more frequent or higher-value donations.

• Report monthly to the CEO on the success of campaigns and programming, income raised, number of new supporters/followers, conversion rates, offering insight on ROI, learnings and how we will incorporate this learning to improve how we do things in future. 

Fundraising compliance:

• Save all profiles, donations, giving history, gift aid agreements, correspondence, and communications with supporters on CNK CRM database. Uphold GDPR and comply with fundraising best practice.

US Individual Giving Programme:

• Contribute towards developing a new US individual giving portfolio through prospect research and crafting compelling fundraising asks.

Staff & Volunteer Management:

• Create and manage a volunteer fundraising programme to grow individual giving through community events, social media and awareness raising. 

The role has no direct line reports at present but there may be in future, budget permitting

Essential skills and experience:

You will have at least five, ideally eight, years experience of:

• individual giving fundraising for a small charity, with a track record of developing and delivering successful individual giving campaigns that have generated 5 figure sums 

• building a supporter base - both amongst low value, but also mid level and major donors

• gathering information, case studies, data and finances, distilling and crafting high quality, well articulated compelling funding asks

• growing charity brand and positioning, thorough consistent approach, campaigns, asks,use of language and artwork

• digital marketing including social media, email marketing, and website content management

• designing tools, inputting data and keeping CRM software updated, using data analytics to report on donor journey and drive fundraising decisions

• relevant fundraising regulations and best practices, including GDPR compliance.

You:

• Can work quickly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Are highly organised, able to act on own initiative, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines

• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to craft compelling asks to engage and inspire donors.

• Have engaging people skills, friendly, approachable with a positive attitude. You enjoy talking to donors about CNK on the phone, by email, in person and are unafraid to ‘make the ask’ Can engage collaboratively and constructively in a small team with an entrepreneurial feel

This role requires someone who is highly organised and capable of managing a varied workload. Solid written communication skills and proficiency in IT and MS Office are essential. Experience with case management systems is advantageous, though a demonstrated ability to learn new technology quickly is also valuable.
