You will be responsible for thanking supporters, dealing with queries and updating supporter details. You will also ensure that donations from supporters are entered accurately on the database and create reports for the Finance team. You will be required to develop good relationships with all teams and have the passion and desire to help out where necessary with additional tasks.

About the role

We are seeking a Grants Systems and Business Analyst to join our Foundation, providing subject-area expertise to our grantmaking and wider teams. This exciting role leads on our grants system and processes and ensures we are working in the best way to support our grant-making (approx. £35m of grant spend per year).

Over the past two years, SPANA has made significant investments in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL), culminating in the establishment of an independent MEAL team within the Global Programmes Directorate. Led by the Head of Data Insight and MEAL, this team works collaboratively with the Programme Quality and Development, Animal Health and Welfare and Education, Community Education and SBCC teams to strengthen evidence-based programming and impact measurement.

Contract, location and salary

About the role 

Sightsavers work in Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) contributes to a range of public health problems to reduce disparities, lower disease burdens, and build locally owned sustainable health programs. The NTD Data and Reporting Officer sits within the NTD Surveillance unit and provides a single point of contact for programme and country teams on data monitoring and reporting. 

The position will be based in the UK, with occasional travel to Sightsavers headquarters in Haywards Heath, and international travel up to four weeks per year. 

As the NTD Data and Reporting Officer you will help standardise, consolidate and continuously improve directorate Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) tools and processes, maintain data architecture for NTDs, ensuring core organisational data assets are of high quality, cohesive and accessible, and manage secure storage for NTD data reporting. 

Further responsibilities include: 

• Maintain a cross-departmental M&E calendar. 

• Develop and disseminate and track quarterly planning and reporting templates for country office/partners. 

• Quality check data submissions prior to consolidation against organisational data policy. 

• Ensure programme plans (targets) and associated performance data (actuals) are timely and accurately entered in core organisational data systems. 

• Process and analyse large, complex datasets on request for directorate senior management, donors and partners. 

• Conduct detailed reviews of donor reports, narratives and press releases to ensure any referenced data is accurate and appropriately referenced.

• Provide day to day capacity building and support for directorate and country office staff on data monitoring and reporting.

Skills and Experience

Junior Trusts & Foundations Officer

Location: London (Hybrid, 1 day per week in office)
Hours: Full-time (4 days a week considered)

Salary: £28,000–£30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

A well-established charity is seeking a Junior Trusts & Foundations Officer to join its Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to support vital fundraising efforts, manage relationships with funders, and contribute directly to the organisation’s mission to make a meaningful impact worldwide.

About the role
Reporting to the Trusts & Foundations Manager, you will provide comprehensive support in trusts and foundations fundraising. You will manage a portfolio of four-figure donors, maintain the fundraising database, and help build a pipeline of new trusts and foundations aligned with the charity’s priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Build and nurture relationships with funders, managing your own portfolio.
• Research new funding opportunities and prepare information for proposals and impact reports.
• Maintain and administer the Trusts and Foundations database.
• Collate case studies and photos from global teams for reporting purposes.
• Support the drafting of proposals to secure unrestricted and restricted funding.
• Ensure accurate recording of all new income and share paperwork with relevant departments.
• Send thank you letters, impact reports, and other funder communications.
• Ensure all fundraising activities comply with GDPR.
• Provide pipeline reports and updates as required.

About you
We are looking for a motivated and proactive individual with:

• Excellent research, analytical, and reasoning skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confident working with numbers and data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with potential to craft persuasive cases for support.
• Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
• Collaborative and inclusive approach, able to build relationships across teams and externally.
• Empathy for the charity sector and a flexible, solutions-focused mindset.
