You'll oversee the delivery of corporate partnerships, producing and executing a strategy for growth, whilst ensuring our delivery plans are achievable.

You'll oversee new business activity, playing a leading role in high value solicitations to secure new corporate partnerships that deliver both strategic and cash value. You'll manage the corporate partnerships team to achieve the overall strategy, monitoring performance against clear objectives.

Following their sons’ diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), Emily Reuben and Alex Johnson founded Duchenne UK in 2012. We are an ambitious, dynamic and impactful charity. 

DMD is a devastating progressive condition diagnosed in early childhood which causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken. There are currently only very limited treatment options for DMD, so Emily and Alex set up Duchenne UK to change this. 

Since 2012, we have raised more than £27 million to end the devastating impact of DMD.  We fund ground-breaking scientific research to find effective treatments. We’ve developed the infrastructure of DMD clinical trial delivery in the UK. We engage industry and regulators to accelerate access to treatments. And we’re here to support every family affected and ensure that they receive the best possible care. We aim not only to improve quality of live but stop the disease in its tracks. We have an opportunity to join our team and build on these achievements. We are recruiting for a full-time Fundraising Manager, who will be a key part of our team and play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission.

The successful candidate will be an experienced fundraiser with strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of individuals. Excellent organisational skills are a must along with being ambitious, driven and passionate about representing Duchenne UK and supporting our mission.

The Fundraising Manager will report to the Director of Fundraising and line manage the Fundraising Assistant. They will work closely the rest of the organisation, including the Communications, Finance and Research Teams as well as having the opportunity to work alongside the CEO and Managing Director.

Job Description

This role plays a key part in advancing the fundraising of Duchenne UK to enable more investment into research, advancing treatments and supporting the DMD community.  A core part of this will be building relationships with key supporters, including our incredible Family and Friends Funds, corporate supporters and community of fundraisers.

You will be central to the development and delivery of key events and campaigns throughout the year to achieve ambitious fundraising targets. You will have budget management responsibilities and provide insight into activities to drive improvements and further success in future years.

The role will contribute to overall fundraising growth; ensuring the guiding engagement and fundraising principles are delivered, and that all fundraising delivers an exceptional and remarkable donor experience to which Duchenne UK prides itself.

Fundraising and business development

• Community
  • Key relationship manager for Duchenne UK Family and Friends Funds, engaging them through fundraising, supporting third party events and providing regular project and charity updates
  • Develop and implement the Family Fund and Community Fundraising stewardship strategy

  • Oversee management of regular giving, including working with the Communications team to promote this type of giving. Provide stewardship to Regular Givers, with support from the Fundraising Assistant.
  • Lead the identification and development of new income sources with the support of the Fundraising team to increase donations, improve the profile of Duchenne UK and enhance our reputation within the donor community; including corporate partnerships, fundraising campaigns, third party activity, challenge events, regular giving and legacy

Training and Education Lead

We are looking for two Training and Education Leads to work for an exciting organisation, one permanent and one parental cover (6 months).

Position: Training and Education Lead (two positions)

Location: London/Hybrid

About the role:

We have two events-based roles to support our training and development courses. These courses are delivered either face-to-face or hybrid and are often delivered by a team of the organisation’s members. We use tools such as WebEx, MS Teams and Slido to support the delivery. There is an agreed schedule for the rest of 2024 for our public (open) training plus some bespoke, in-house training to be agreed upon with clients. PCA is a national charity, dedicated to saving lives through early diagnosis. This new post has a pivotal role to play in developing and implementing PR and communications strategies that will raise awareness and support the generation of income across the UK.  

You need to be able to generate emotive and persuasive copy, and have the ability to engage journalists and produce a variety of content for both print and digital communications channels. You will also manage the UK Press Office and proactively place a variety of stories and expert speakers to raise the profile of PCA across local, regional and national media.

As the Finance Manager your role is to help make this a reality through the effective management of our financial processes. You’ll use your experience from other charity finance roles, along with your accountancy / financial management qualifications, to help ensure our approach to financial management is effective, efficient, up-to-date and in line with charity accounting standards. 

You will be well-organised and motivated to support the wider team in their work. Reporting to the CEO and supporting the Treasurer, you will ensure we have up-to-date information on the financial health of the organisation. You will help to ensure we are maximising the use of restricted funding, and that money is spent in line with donors’ wishes. 

You will lead on ensuring we have robust organisational systems and processes in place for effective financial management. This includes the production and sharing of management accounts, ensuring payroll and invoices are paid on time, devising financial reports, and providing budgetary support. You’ll ensure that accurate records are maintained and that we are reporting our accounts in line with SORP guidelines. 

You will lead on the ongoing development and maintenance of our finance systems, policies and procedures, ensuring they are fit for purpose for a growing organisation.

We're looking for a new Volunteer-Led Services Manager to lead our transport and befriending services as well as helping us to grow our team of volunteers across the whole organisation. 

Key responsibilities are:

• Day to day oversight of our Volunteer Led Services (Community Connections Befriending, and Community Connections Transport and Care Home Befriending)
• Line management of Befriending and Transport teams
• To further develop these projects and ensure user/volunteer involvement

The Bike Project is fortunate to be supported by a wide range of Trusts & Foundations, Major Donors and Corporates as well as many committed members of the public. In 2023, we took the decision to consolidate and bring in-house our fundraising activity. Over the past twelve months we have worked hard to ensure that we create a virtuous circle in our fundraising and engagement activity, for example, looking at how our corporate partners can engage their employees to support our work.

This is a new role which will lead on major donor fundraising and development of corporate partnerships and earned income through an in-house employee servicing and team away-day offer. As the charity moves forward, it is critical that we strengthen and diversify our unrestricted income streams and this is an exciting opportunity to shape a key are of fundraising that will contribute to that goal and the future sustainability of our charity.  

This role will work closely with the Chief Executive, Head of Marketing and Fundraising and Head of Grants and Impact on a shared approach to fundraising. We work in a joined-up way to ensure that we take full advantage of every opportunity to maximise benefit for our bike recipients. In particular, you will work closely with the Chief Executive to manage some of our most significant relationships, ensuring that our donors and partners are well looked-after, kept up to date on our activities and understand the impact of their support. 

Being a small charity, we work in an agile manner which allows for creative ideas to flourish and new ideas to be implemented quickly. We hold donation sessions weekly out of our London and Birmingham workshops, so there is opportunity to see the impact of your work first hand.

The Bike Project’s mission is simple – to match up refugees without the means or money to travel, with the thousands of abandoned or unwanted bikes in the UK.   

People seeking asylum are forced to live off less than £9 per day and those lucky enough to get refugee status still face high unemployment and isolation. A bike links people to essential services, including foodbanks and legal advice, as well as the local community.

Any of us could be refugees, in different circumstances. Refugees at Home connects people with a spare room to refugees and people seeking asylum in need of somewhere to stay. We don’t think people who come to the UK for sanctuary should end up on the streets. Our vision is for every refugee and every person seeking asylum to have a safe place to stay.

We recruit and support volunteer hosts who are willing to offer a temporary home and a helping hand.  Our role is to carefully match each guest and host, to assess and prepare them ready for hosting, to advise on hosting arrangements and accommodation, and to provide ongoing support to hosts throughout each stay.

We’re now recruiting for a Coordinator to join our team to ensure those who so generously support our work are well looked after and connected with our work.  You’ll be ensuring we keep great records about our donors and their experience with us.  You’ll be working with our Executive team to report on our work and impact to funders as well as finding new opportunities to raise funds for Refugees at Home.  You’ll be using your excellent organisational and administrative skills to help with the smooth running of our organisation, working alongside all members of the R@H team.

We are seeking a Head of Finance to lead on the charity's finances and accounts.

The Head of Finance has lead responsibility for overseeing the finance function of the organisation.  The role reports directly to the Chief Executive, is a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and works closely with the Board of Trustees and in particular with the Treasurer.  The post holder also has responsibility for the line management of the Finance Officer and the Feeding Service Administrator (Finance Team).

Working with SMT colleagues, this role leads on all financial reporting and analysis to the team and to the Trustee Board and Finance Committee, the preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.

The Head of Finance leads the annual audit and preparation of the annual report and accounts working closely with the Chief Executive, Treasurer and Chair of Trustees. In addition, the role supports the wider team in compliance with financial policies and procedures and acts as Finance Business Partner by providing support and guidance to budget holders.

Purpose of the Role:

Bow Foodbank is proud  to have developed a highly trusted relationship with our guests and the community. We are often the first point of call for people when they are starting to struggle financially. We want to use our trusted place in the community to support our guests with more than just food, helping to connect them into a wide range of services and community groups - aiming to help guests to build their resilience and move them away from the causes of poverty. This will be done by inviting specialist partners to offer their services at our centre, as well as training and overseeing our volunteers in signposting guests to services that will help them build their resilience. We want to do this in a way that builds dignity so will aim to follow up with them the impact of any referrals and how they have improved guest wellbeing. Our aim is to limit the length of time guests depend on any foodbank and increase the community’s access to support services and community groups.

This role will train and oversee the work of our volunteers in signposting guests to high quality services. They will be responsible for holding guest voice strategy and will feed into the senior leadership team the opinions of our guests so we can continually improve the service we offer them.

This role will build partnerships with organisations to create support pathways. We want to maximise use of our building by creating a support ‘marketplace’ inviting partners into the foodbank and increasing guest access to the broadest range of services.
