Job Purpose: To develop and manage, to a high standard, Age UK Bromley & Greenwich’s Information and Advice Service. To be responsible for the effective delivery of the I&A Service which will be delivered through a range of channels, including face to face, telephone, email, digital, and other means, across the Bromley and Greenwich boroughs.

Key Responsibilities:

Line management and supervision

• Provide line management and supervision to advisers and support staff.
• Supervising team advice sessions and casework
• Manage the practicalities of the advice session and ensure adequate staffing and resources.
• Undertake monthly supervision with individual team members and annual appraisal.
• Ensure referrals are actioned and clients are supported in a timely manner.

Support learning and development

• Undertake Independent File Reviews ( IFR) and monitor the quality  to meet quality standards and service level agreements

• Ensure remedial and developmental issues are identified and acted on to develop individuals, improve the quality of advice, and ensure clients do not suffer detriment due to poor or inadequate advice.
• Keep technical knowledge up to date and provide technical support to advisers.
• Maintain a case load as demonstration of ongoing personal development and learning.
• Undertake advice work as required e.g. during staff absences.
• Provide statistical reports on outputs and outcomes as required by funders and management
• Review and implement outcome measures for the work of the I&A team, including an annual survey of clients.

Partnership working and development

• To manage networking/ liaison with other local key stakeholders and organisations and feed into wider local engagement and community development work.
• Develop effective partner relationships with referral agencies across  both boroughs, and to refer/ signpost cases to external agencies as appropriate.
• Represent the organisation at outreach and community events as required, continuing to raise the organisational profile and develop wider awareness of our services.

As an Annual Health Practitioner, you will provide support to local health services with their SMI (Severe Mental Illness) clinics. You will be key in shaping this role as the service develops as well as providing support to the core Access Community Mental Health team. The Annual Health Check Practitioner will also provide 1:1 support to encourage and enable people to attend their annual health checks.

Introduction

The Prison Reform Trust (PRT) was founded in 1981 to inform public debate and improve prison conditions and the treatment of prisoners, amidst concerns about a projected prison population of 48,000 by 1984. Fast forward to today, the prison population in England and Wales is almost 87,000 and is projected to rise to 106,300 by March 2027. We overuse prison for non-violent and persistent crime, and we choose to send people to prison for a long time, and it continues to grow.

Our mission is clear. We are working to create a just, humane and effective prison system by influencing decision-makers opinion formers and the public to 1) reduce the use of prison; 2) Improve conditions for prisoners and, 3) promote equality and human rights in the criminal justice system.

Income in 2023 was £2.06 million, with most of our income portfolio reliant on trusts and foundations. We have just been through a strategic development period and as a part of that we have uncovered significant untapped potential for philanthropic and relational based income growth. We are now seeking a newly designed, ‘Head of Fundraising and Philanthropy’ to lead the whole fundraising programme, but with a specific focus on developing the philanthropy and corporate programme to take Prison Reform Trust to the next level.

You will be a seasoned relational fundraiser, have entrepreneurial flair, be creative and have the ability to influence at the highest of levels. Overall aim

· To maximise and grow Prison Reform Trust’s income by leading and implementing the fundraising strategy, ensuring targets are met and exceeded and in line with evolving needs, with a particular focus on unrestricted and core income growth

· To lead on identifying, researching, proposal writing and engaging donors in a relational manner including, philanthropists, family foundations, trusts, corporates, low level individuals and senior volunteers.

Key responsibilities

Leadership, strategy, planning and reporting

· Developing, implementing and performance managing the fundraising strategy in line with PRT’s organisational strategy to ensure income growth and diversification across all income streams

· Develop, manage and monitor the fundraising budget and financial targets with a particular focus on maintaining a healthy unrestricted to restricted income profile to ensure future investment into the fundraising programme

· As a member of the Senior Management Team, regular reporting to Senior Leadership Team and Board

Fundraising and Philanthropy

· Build deep and rich relationships with donors and funders, ensuring that stewardship is best-in-class to maximise each partnership to its full potential

· To utilise PRT’s network to build and grow a new philanthropy and partnerships programme at PRT

· Aligned with PRT’s strategic funding priorities and core work, develop proposals and bids for large scale, multi-year funding opportunities

· To lead on new business opportunities for fundraising at PRT. This includes identifying and qualifying prospects and partners, network mapping and cultivating them to their first gift with support from the development manager to take the relationships forward

· Oversee the management of grant funded projects to ensure that they are being delivered to the highest quality standard to meet donor requirements and reporting to be submitted on time

· Lead and oversee the development and delivery of fundraising products and activating activity

General

· Maintain excellent working relationships with other teams within the organisation especially service delivery, campaigns and finance

· Assist in developing and maintaining an effective website so donors have a seamless user experience

· Positively contribute to the effective running of the organisation including taking an active role in the management team

· Undertake any other relevant duties or responsibilities delegated by the CEO or Deputy Director

Experience and qualifications

· Extensive experience in a senior fundraising role, with a focus on unrestricted giving

· Experience of raising money from companies (5 and 6 figure gifts)

· Evidenced experience in cultivating and building relationships with donors / supporters and stewarding key funders

· Experience of overseeing a trusts and foundations programme

Desirable:

About the role:

You will lead and support a team of Homicide Family Caseworkers to meet VS and Homicide Service standards and contractual requirements. You will be able to demonstrate the excellent organisational skills essential to managing a demanding and diverse workload and will have experience of achieving key performance indicators, as set by the Operation managers and Deputy Head of Service.

We pride ourselves on providing exceptional trauma informed advocacy and support to all service users and you will have an understanding of the impact that trauma and bereavement can have on individuals. You will have excellent communication skills and will support the Operation Managers to maintain the highest standards of service delivery, across a widely geographically dispersed team. You will be prepared to travel across the geographical area including occasional overnight stays to ensure you can meet team members in person as well as online. A driving license and use of a car are both essential as well as access to public transport. You will be reimbursed for all travel costs.

You will also enjoy working closely with a range of stakeholders (including Police Family Liaison Officers and Senior Investigation Officers within the Major Crime teams) and will have experience in building constructive working relationships, focused on delivering the best service for vulnerable service users. YMCA West Sussex Transitional housing provides safe, secure accommodation for young people aged 18-25, who have been, or are at risk of homelessness. Our staff team comprises of Supported Housing Support Workers, Mobile Night Workers and two Managers. We offer a support package alongside the accommodation to actively encourage residents into education, training, employment or voluntary work.

In delivering the role, you will work with the Deputy Supported Housing Manager and the wider housing team to provide effective day to day management of our transitional accommodation service. You will have your own caseload of residents, working creatively and effectively alongside young people to develop their assets and talents and to acquire the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives. You will contribute to the smooth and safe running of the service by providing consistency and reliability. You will have a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations. You will also support young people to safeguard themselves against abuse and risk. There will be times when lone working will be a requirement for this role.

This role is based on site in Horsham and will cover Transitional services across Horsham, Crawley, Burgess Hill and Worthing. Your working hours will be Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

As the Clinical Educator, you'll spearhead the development, delivery, and assessment of comprehensive clinical training programs, fostering an environment of continuous learning through innovative and adaptable approaches.
Working as part of our dynamic nursing team comprising Senior Nurses, Clinical Nurse Managers, Registered Nurses, and HCAs, you'll serve as the catalyst for inspiration and education, enriching colleagues across every facet of our services.

What we are looking for:
- Significant nursing experience post registration, preferable in a community-based environment
- Teaching and mentoring experience in healthcare for community-based healthcare teams, identifying and developing training needs and analysis
- Confident, self-motivated team player with a positive outlook and the ability to think innovatively
- Experience of working with healthcare professional supporting individuals and families experiencing change and loss
- Commitment to personal professional development
