Our passionate Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the Regional Office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers.

You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlying needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. You will have the opportunity to shape processes and procedures within the office which will lead to improvements in the service offered to clients.

To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.

Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the North East England or Yorkshire region, which includes North, South, East and West Yorkshire, Teesside, County Durham, Tyne & Wear and Northumberland. About the team

The team work remotely and pride themselves in maintaining a close working bond which ensures the smooth operation of the office. You will work closely with volunteers from the eight SSAFA branches in the Northeast and Yorkshire, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The successful candidate will work as part of a team 8, which includes a Regional Casework Manager and a Regional Manager for Casework and Community Engagement.

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as housing, benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR and experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.

It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families and if you have experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the Northeast and Yorkshire would be valuable.

We are Chance to Shine: a children’s charity dedicated to harnessing the power of cricket to transform the life prospects of young people in the UK.

2. Purpose of the Role

The core purpose of Finance Assistant’s role is to support the Finance and Resources team at Chance to Shine. The Finance and Resources team provide day to day support to all departments in the charity and trading subsidiary, Chance to Shine Enterprises Ltd, around finance, office, HR and general administration. The role is based at our London office with some working from home allowed.

3. Key Responsibilities

The Finance Assistant’s responsibilities include:

Finance

· Recording and analysing income and expenditure and posting transactions onto SAGE 50 Accounts

· Banking cash and cheques received

• Raising invoices and monitoring debtors
• Administering invoice approval and payment processes

Richmond Carers Centre has the mission to help unpaid adult carers to live a full, active and meaningful life by providing them with advice, information, activities, breaks and emotional support either face to face, by phone or by email to enable them to live well.

As an Adult Carers Support Worker, you will be part of a small, dedicated team and take a lead on providing emotional support to adult carers and a commitment to enhancing their health and wellbeing. Much of your work will involve actively listening to carers, often via the phone support line, providing information, advice and support. As part of the Adult Carers Support Team, you will also be involved in organising breaks for carers, outreach activities and leisure events, as well as group work to help enhance carers’ health and wellbeing. Redemption Roasters Barista Trainer

Role summary:

To deliver barista training courses in HMP High Down and HMP Downview. The goal of the training is to prepare residents for employment in hospitality on release.

Overview:
Redemption Roasters is looking to appoint a skilled and passionate barista to deliver training courses in HMP High Down and HMP Downview.  Both prisons are located in Sutton. The training will be delivered to small groups of prison residents who are looking to learn a new skill and are interested in a career in hospitality on release. The successful applicant will be offered comprehensive on-boarding training, with opportunities to shadow experienced trainers.

Duties:

• Deliver a tried and tested Redemption Roasters barista training course, including espresso preparation, milk steaming technique and pouring, alternative brewing methods, cleaning equipment, and basic grinder and machine maintenance. 
• Liaise with prison staff, including the Prison Employment Lead and Activities Manager, to ensure courses are well-attended.
• Act as a positive role model for course participants and encourage participants to grow outside of their comfort zones whilst respecting professional boundaries.
• Conduct basic assessments during the course, coordinate the completion of feedback forms, and track learner journeys, in line with the guidance given by the prisons.
• Provide one-to-one support to facilitate sustainable employment for interested participants on their release. 
• Deliver additional training to participants as is required; this would typically be in Redemption Roasters 13 coffee shops. 
• Other ad-hoc tasks to support the smooth running of the programme in HMP High Down, HMP Downview and wider success of the Impact team at Redemption Roasters. 

Schedule:

• On joining the team, the Barista Trainer will complete a minimum of three-weeks of on-boarding training. This will include an induction to HMP High Down and HMP Downview and shadowing experienced Redemption Roasters trainers in a prison environment.
• During a 12 month period, the Barista Trainer will deliver 7 three-week courses in HMP High Down and 6 one week courses in HMP Downview. 
• During training delivery weeks, the Barista Trainer will typically be based in prison Monday - Thursday (with the Trainer arriving at the prison for 8am), with Fridays in the Redemption Roasters HQ in Kings X, London. 
• During non-delivery weeks, the Barista Trainer will visit the prisons to support course recruitment (usually one day a week), as well as delivering one-to-one support and ‘top up’ training to participants working across the Redemption Roasters coffee shops.

Personal specification:

Essential

• 2+ years' experience as a barista and/or barista training
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Empathetic and kind, with a strong belief in the Redemption Roasters mission

• SCA Certifications

Over our two-year programme, women learn to bake, gain a catering qualification and develop transferable skills such as budgeting, interview techniques and resilience.  Women gain valuable work experience through our sister organisation, Luminary Bakery, as well as being paired with a volunteer mentor who helps her develop her career next steps.

Luminary consists of two entities working towards a shared purpose.

Luminary Ltd is a registered charity that provides training and support programmes for women who have experienced violence and disadvantage. Luminary Limited runs the Employability Support Programme, offering training, mentoring, and trauma-informed guidance to women on their journey to independence.

Luminary Bakery Ltd contributes to Luminary’s social impact by offering work experience placements, apprenticeships, and job opportunities for graduates of the charity’s training programmes. Luminary Bakery produces beautiful, artisanal baked goods and is working toward generating sustainable income to fund the charity.

The role you are applying for is with Luminary Ltd (LL), the charity arm of Luminary. While our charity and business work closely together, LL is the employing entity for this position.

The role
Luminary is entering an exciting phase in its development, transitioning from a small, founder-led start-up into a medium-sized charity. Over the past two years, we’ve experienced growth in our income, primarily through trusts and foundations. Building on this momentum, and with generous support from Comic Relief, we are now recruiting our first in-house fundraiser.

Location: Hybrid (3 days based on Luminary site and 2 days from home)

Salary: £45,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent, full time (40 hours per week) 

Reports to: Luminary Limited CEO

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to define and meet annual income targets from various income streams, identifying opportunities for income growth. 
•  Research, identify and apply for grants and funding opportunities from trusts and foundations, and corporates. 
• Research, cultivate and manage relationships with prospective funders and individual donors. 
• Develop compelling funding proposals and pitches.
• Support the development and delivery of a communications strategy to support fundraising.
• Organise and support fundraising campaigns, events and initiatives to engage donors and stakeholders. 
• Monitor and report on fundraising performance, agreeing realistic targets and taking steps to maximise Luminary’s funding opportunities in order to fulfil financial targets.

Essential:

Five years + experience in fundraising contributing to strategy as well as delivery.

Demonstrated  success in fundraising  with a proven track record of securing significant income from trusts and foundations, and/or major donors and corporate partners.
Skilled in relationship-based fundraising with experience of donor cultivation and stewardship to secure long-term partnerships.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop compelling funding proposals, persuasive pitches and impactful reports.
Experience in financial planning including creating and managing budgets, and financial analysis skills to track and report income performance.
Strategic and innovative thinker able to identify, assess and pursue new funding opportunities aligned with charity goals.
Highly organised, self-motivated and proactive with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
A genuine passion for Luminary’s mission, with a strong commitment to empowering women and creating social change.

This is a varied role which will offer the successful candidate exposure to a wide range of tasks and responsibilities, including bank reconciliations, financial and performance reporting, some data upkeep and systems improvements. You will need to be good at juggling competing priorities, well-organised with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities (see attached job description for full list)

Finance (~80% of role)

• Carry out weekly bank reconciliations using Xero.

• Maintaining records of expenditure, processing monthly expenses, paying invoices.

• Prepare HMRC Gift Aid claims and maintain records of Gift Aid donations and payments.

• Assist with annual external financial audits.

• Import bank transactions onto CRM database and ensure donations are assigned to correct conservation projects.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual management accounts and annual budgets.

Administration (~20% of role)

• Maintain all accounts on UK portals (Benevity, Charities Aid Foundation, etc) and process, track and reconcile all portal donations, soft crediting these where necessary.

• Suggest changes or improvements to both financial and administrative processes (including automations) to increase accuracy, efficiency and potential cost reductions, then implement where agreed.

• Support with HR administration - keeping personnel and Trustee files up to date, keeping records of sickness, holidays and other absences, drafting new policies.

Working Arrangements and Travel Requirements

Rainforest Trust UK staff work remotely and the successful candidate will be expected to work primarily from home with an excellent internet connection. They may be based anywhere in the UK but will be expected to travel to work from a shared team space in London 1 day per month.
