Our partner, a leading international not for profit, seeks an experienced Finance Manager to lead on the financial management of a complex multi-country & multi-grant project. This role will really be suited to someone interested in developing and strengthening systems and processes & providing financial oversight, whilst working with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial management oversight on the project, verifying project-specific transactions and ensuring that financial data is up-to-date; and ensuring adherence to the organisation’s financial policies.
• Lead the project’s annual budgeting and forecasting process, allocating funds across country and global teams & operations.
• Prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial reports for the organisation’s project, including monthly, quarterly, and donor-specific reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and implement financial controls and processes to ensure compliance to donors and organisational policies, including tools such as templates, checklists, and manuals.
• Review budgets, quarterly reports and variance analyses, reforecasts, cash requests and agreements from sub-grantees; and ensure that they understand guidance on compliance and financial reporting.
• Treasury management – monitoring and analysis foreign exchange fluctuations, and their impact on project delivery.
• Responsible for supplier management, including reviewing contracts.
• Management of a Finance Officer

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (and holding an active membership with an accountancy body) with experience in designing, developing and strengthening processes and controls for complex multi-country, multi-grants projects.
• Experience in the financial management and administration of grants, including budgeting, forecasting, undertaking analysis & monitoring, and reporting.
• Experience of donor compliance and reporting, including of institutional donors with complex compliance and reporting requirements.
• Experience of working specifically in the context of sub-grantees and implementing partners on the ground.
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills, able to analyse complex financial information to provide the full picture on the project implementation, and to be able to present this alongside other analyses and reports to senior internal and external stakeholders clearly and succinctly.
• A strong command of the English language.
• Able to work effectively under pressure

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, whose mission is to see a time when no deaf person feels alone, is seeking a proactive and relationships-driven Partnerships Account Manager for managing and growing a portfolio of corporate partners.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support.

Following on from a strategic review, the charity is now looking to build a new Income Generation Directorate, to enable them to transform many more lives across the UK. This role will be critical to help Hearing Dogs reach their goals to diversify income, expand their portfolio and accelerate income from mission-aligned businesses.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Partnerships, this role will take a lead on nurturing existing partnerships and developing new ones, with a specific focus on increasing income through employee engagement and payroll giving schemes. It will also ensure that each partnership is maximised and aligned with Hearing Dogs’ mission and fundraising goals.

The post-holder will work closely with internal teams and corporate supporters to deliver engaging campaigns, employee fundraising, volunteering opportunities and impactful communications that help raise income and awareness for the charity.

It is a role that will require excellent stewardship, creativity and commercial awareness skills for mutual value – that means you will need strong relationship management and excellent communication skills. A background in corporate fundraising will be essential, alongside the ability to identify and maximise the potential of corporate support opportunities, including financial and in-kind support. You will also have experience of managing charity-of-the-year partnerships or working with employee fundraising programmes.

Visitor Experience Duty Manager - Bank Staff

About the Role

The role of the Visitor Experience Duty Manager is to support the Visitor Experience Team (VE) with the management of gallery opening hours and the events calendar. Motivating and leading the VE Team, on a day-to-day basis, providing an inspiring, engaging and inclusive visitor experience for broad and diverse audiences.

This role will cover weekends, evening events and occasional leave days for the VE Team. Visitor Experience Duty Managers fulfil Duty Management responsibilities for the building to ensure the safety and security of staff, visitors and exhibitions/events.

Responsibilities

Operational and Health & Safety

• The VEDM (Visitor Experience Duty Manager) is responsible for opening and / or closing the building on their shift, and for the setting of alarms. They are also required, in an emergency, to organise maintenance of the building, including intruder and fire alarms. All Duty Managers are included on the call out list for possible out of hours alarm issues.
• In the event of an emergency or fire alarm the VEDM is required to manage a full building evacuation and work as the contact person to the fire brigade.
• To ensure that the building is safe and clean by checking all areas before the building is open to the public or before an event. Turning on/off all lighting and replacing bulbs where necessary, checking fuse boards and making minor repairs, cleaning toilets when necessary. Continue to monitor throughout the day, allocating deliveries to appropriate storage areas, checking toilet facilities and following general risk assessment for areas of prohibited public access.
• To manage and adhere to all Health and Safety and building security practices, including completing risk assessments for events. On the shifts when the Duty Manger is the only key holder in the building they must not leave the premises.
• To be responsible for upholding the premises licence according to the Licensing Act 2003, to ensure the café/bar adheres to alcohol licensing laws and to oversee the selling and consumption of alcohol within the building and any other licensed activities. To ensure that capacity numbers for events are not exceeded.
• The Duty Manager is required to turn on / off the show and ensure it is functioning correctly during gallery opening hours. Also, to ensure a curator or the Production Manager is informed of any faults, breakages etc.
• Lead and motivate Visitor Experience team members and volunteers to ensure the delivery of high standards of visitor and artwork care, safety, security, visitor welcome, wayfinding, building presentation and housekeeping.
• Brief the Visitor Experience Team Members and volunteers daily about their duties for the shift and ensure they have all the necessary resources in order to provide an excellent standard of customer service to all visitors.
• To be a First Aider and know the location of the First Aid boxes.
• To cover the break of the shop staff and/or VE team and to provide cover in the galleries, shop or Information Desk during busy periods or in an emergency.
• To ensure that Shop takings are secured in the safe.
• To read any emails or hand over notes at the beginning of his / her shift and to communicate to the Visitor Services Manager (VSM) any issues arising during their shift and record incidents in the incident log book.
• Carry out any other duties as directed by the VSM/HoFVE as required

Visitor Experience

• Work collaboratively with other members of the Visitor Experience team and other gallery departments providing services that contribute to visitor experience, (including the cafe and shop) to ensure a consistent and seamless service is provided to our visitors.
• To be able to give short tours/presentations to schools/groups about the current exhibition.
• To deal with all general enquiries and problems that may arise during the shift in a calm and professional manner with both customers and staff.
• Work with VSM to manage group booking enquiries sensitively and efficiently.
• Work with the VSM to develop projects that will build on and enhance the visitor experience.
• Work with the VSM to coach and develop the Visitor Experience team to ensure their skills and knowledge of gallery activities are up-to-date.
• Assist the VSM with the delivery of induction and training sessions for Visitor Experience team members and volunteers.

Events

• To assist in the coordination of events with event organisers and other key staff to ensure that all arrangements have been made for staff, equipment and booking of each event.
• To support the events and hires programme at the gallery, including setting up of AV equipment and moving furniture for events.
• Work with Commercial Manager to keep up to date with hire enquiries and show prospective clients available spaces if required.
• To provide a warm welcome to hirers, visiting speakers, artists, and ensure they have everything they need for their event.
• Complete event reports for all events and distribute VSM and event organisers.
• Checking online sales and tickets, assisting with processing sales and bookings for events when necessary. Ensure that all visitor figures and sales are recorded after each event.

Person Specification

Essential

• Excellent communication skills demonstrating the ability to deal with colleagues, visitors and external partners.
• Experience of working with the public and of providing excellent customer service, preferably gained in an arts/entertainment environment.
• Strong organisational skills and the willingness to be involved in the practical set up of events.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work flexibly including evenings and weekends.
• Experience of using and setting up AV equipment, lifting and carrying equipment, chairs and tables. An enthusiasm for art and commitment to the work of Modern Art Oxford.

Pensions

As Senior Grants Manager, Environment and Communities, you will identify, assess, and manage grants that contribute to these evolving areas of interest. 

A particular focus of the role will be developing strategic grants and partnerships that contribute to Environmental Sustainability.  This is a developing area of interest, supporting activity that restores the natural environment and enabling practices such as nature friendly farming and community growing.  Current grantees include the Sustainable Food Trust, the Wildlife Trust, and local farmer clusters.  

The Foundation has recently launched a ‘Green Fund’ pilot, supporting Buckinghamshire grantees to deliver progress in environmental sustainability.  The role will lead on the delivery of this programme.

As well as developing relationships with external stakeholders you will also closely collaborate with colleagues, making connections between grants and activities at Waddesdon Manor.  In particular, working closely with the Rothschild Foundation’s Sustainability and Conservation Department and the Education & Learning Department.

The role will also support the development and assessment of grants to the Rothschild Foundation’s Community Fund which is open to not for profit organisations in Buckinghamshire who support local communities, with a particular focus on disadvantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic development of our Environment programme, including current explorations in community growing, nature friendly farming and nature restoration.
• Leading on the delivery of a ‘Green Fund’ pilot, supporting grantees and funded activities.  This will include working closely with the Evaluation and Impact Manager and Operations Manager to review the programme and make recommendations for future delivery to Grants Committee
• Maintaining an overview of the portfolio of ‘Environment’ grants, sharing learning and identifying connections across grantees

• Identifying and supporting potential applicants, conducting visits, guiding proposal development, and ensuring due diligence standards are met
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with grantees, conducting six-monthly catch up conversations, visiting funded activity and acting as a ‘critical friend’
• Supporting the delivery of our Communities funding, including assessment of applications to the Community Fund and occasional Trustee related community grants
• Producing regular updates for Trustees, including project updates and data insights, and contribute to creative ways of sharing the impact of our funding

JUSTICE is looking to recruit an Interim Head of Governance and Operations to join our friendly, values-led team. This is a fixed term post for 12 months (maternity cover) and provides an exciting opportunity for someone who has experience of governance and operational management. 

We are looking for an individual who has an interest in the purpose of the charity (to improve the UK justice system so that it is fair and within everyone’s reach), as well as a keen interest in taking responsibility for a diverse and wide range of tasks from providing and overseeing the secretariat functions related to our governance and risk as well as leading in important cross-cutting areas such as audit, budget management and providing HR support. This role will really suit someone who enjoys working with people, is comfortable with a degree of autonomy and who thrives in a role where no two days are the same. 

This role plays a central role in the workings of the organisation including with our Policy Team, our Comms Team and our Development Team. They also join Senior Management Team meetings and all Board and Committee meetings. The role currently line manages one direct report but this may be increased to two and reports into and works closely with the Chief Executive. This role also leads on the relationships with our accountants (who deliver our financial management and accounting functions) and other external contractors.

In addition, this role requires a minimum of 5 days per month working in our London offices. We also close the office between 25 December and 1 January (inclusive), which is addition to the annual leave mentioned above. Centre Business Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced person to join Healthy Me Healthy Communities CiC.  Following a successful asset transfer and a £1m investment, we have ambitious plans for Gorton Central, developing this much loved community asset into an exemplar community hub and our organisational HQ. The Centre Business Manager will lead the day to day operations at the Centre and the Centre staff team to drive forwards business growth and service impact.

Salary: £30, 559 - £33, 366 per year (scale 18-23) starting salary dependent on experience

Location: Based at Gorton Central, Gorton Community Centre, Manchester, M18 8PE

Position type: Permanent

Hours: 35 hours a week Monday - Friday which will include an earliest start time of 8.30am and a latest finish of 6pm. This is a centre based role and it may be possible to work from home 1 day a week, in agreement with the line manager.

Location: You can be based near one of the following office locations - Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, or Newcastle. 

We operate a hybrid model of work i.e. a combination of in-person and remote, with flexible days in the office depending on business need and your preferences. We would typically expect in-office attendance an average of one day per week.  

Your office is where you will usually attend in-person events, training sessions etc. though some travel, to other offices and other locations, will occasionally be expected.

 

Hours: We are looking for the right candidate and while we envisage this being a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) we are very open to flexible working arrangements such as part-time, compressed hours and/or flexitime.

As a key leader within our Partnerships and Income Development team, you will be responsible for creating, developing and delivering the Social Mobility Foundation’s Employer Programme – how we inform, influence and positively impact employer-led social mobility, and a source of income generation.

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships and Income Development, you’ll be the custodian of the Social Mobility Employer Index (SMEI) – our annual benchmarking and assessment tool for how UK employers recruit, retain and develop talent from all socioeconomic backgrounds and build inclusive workplaces. You'll have full product ownership, managing the delivery lifecycle from end-to-end: from marketing, to pipeline development and entrant submissions, data analysis, reporting and evaluation, as well as ongoing development and improvement.

In addition, by collaborating with existing partners who offer pro-bono consultancy, you’ll scope, develop and deliver new products, resources and services that equip employers with the knowledge and practical tools to improve social mobility in the workplace.

This is an ideal role for an experienced Individual Giving professional who can confidently step into a fast-moving environment and keep high-performing fundraising programmes running smoothly during a period of transition.

• Lead the delivery of warm donor campaigns across channels such as direct mail, digital, telemarketing and print.
