The Senior Dementia Advisor is a dynamic and exciting role providing advice and person centred support to clients & carers across Greenwich including signposting and community bridge building in order to help people access community resources. In addition to carrying a caseload, the role involves line management and supervision of dementia advice staff and leading on external relationships in the Borough of Greenwich. The role may also require deputising for/ assisting the Dementia Support Hub Manager (Lewisham & Greenwich) as the project demands.

You will have an understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers and direct experience of working in a supervisory role in a telephone and e-mail based service. To help address this Citizens Advice Southwark is working with the local Primary Care Networks to create a healthcare pathway allowing general practice to identify local residents that would benefit from pro-active and targeted money advice and financial support.
To deliver this exciting new project we are looking for 4 full time generalist advisers who will be based at our offices and at GP surgeries in Bermondsey and Peckham and will work closely with Social Prescribing Link Workers employed by South and North Southwark Primary Care Networks.
In this role you will take referrals from local GPs surgeries and other services, and provide 1:1 advice and support to people with complex needs, developing personalised plans to tackle their debt and financial liabilities.
To undertake this role you will need:
- At least six months recent experience of providing Generalist Advice to the public including casework in welfare rights, housing and debt.
- Proven ability to interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills to get to the root of issues and empower clients in a non-judgmental way.
- An understanding of the financial challenges facing citizens, especially as a result of COVID.
- Ability to work closely with and develop relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across organisations and sectors, including health and voluntary and community sector.

Being part of decision-making processes is not only where self-identity is expressed but it is also an important aspect of personal freedom. This principle is at the heart of advocacy services for people living with dementia.
Age Cymru are recruiting for a full-time Dementia Advocate promote and deliver independent advocacy to people with dementia or their carers in the Cardiff/Vale of Glamorgan area. During the current Covid-19 pandemic all Age Cymru staff will be working from home until it is safe to work from an office base and in line with Welsh Government Guidance.
This post is a fixed term contract ending 31/03/22 working full time - 35 hours per week, based in Cardiff but covering the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan areas. Salary £25,000 per annum.

You will:
* Have experience and working knowledge of advocacy (instructed and non-instructed)* Undertaken individual casework
* Have worked with others on successful projects and services (including statutory and voluntary organisations)
* Have an understanding of dementia and the rights of people with dementia and their carers
* Have an awareness of safeguarding legislation and procedures in Wales
* Use creative communication strategies for facilitating communication with people with dementia
* Be highly organised, positive and outgoing
* Be proficient in all MS office packages, including Excel and Powerpoint
* Be confident delivering promotional and awareness raising sessions
* Speak Welsh (desirable but not essential)

Working closely with the Supporter Care Manager and other team Officers, you will work in a supervisory capacity to the rest of the team line managing 3 Supporter Care Executives and ensure that the charity’s supporters receive an excellent standard of service.
This is a fixed term role for a period of 12-months, or on the return of the post holder, to cover a period of Maternity leave.
Main tasks of role:
- Act as the first point of contact for the resolution of complex queries and complaints.
- Assist in managing the day-to-day work of the Supporter Care team, including managing turnaround times.
- Assist the Supporter Care Manager with projects involving Supporter Care and be the team representative on some cross functional projects.
- Deputise for the Supporter Care Manager, assuming responsibility for the team in their absence.
- Recognise fundraising, engagement and retention opportunities when talking to supporters.
- Respond to queries received by phone, email and post and assist the team in doing the same.
- Process donations, standing order payments and gift cancellations, acknowledging supporters and sending out materials as appropriate.
- Ensure there is always enough telephone cover in place, arranging lunch breaks, meetings and assisting with any voicemail arrangements.
- Compile routine reports including all feedback received by the charity.
- Assist the Supporter Care Manager with monitoring performance of external suppliers.
What we are looking for:
- GCSE in Maths and English, or equivalent
- Confidence working with computers – good knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and databases.
- Experience of working in an office based, customer facing role (within the charity sector would be advantageous).
- Experience of handling complaints and queries.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills with an exceptional telephone manner.
- Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
- Professional and hard-working team player.
- Outgoing, enthusiastic and able to remain calm under pressure.
Location: Granta Park, near Cambridge.
Salary: Circa £27,000 per annum, plus benefits

The FP&A role will involve the co-ordination and production of the information our stakeholders need to make effective financial decisions. Support Worker Responsibilities:
Our client's Dementia Support service involves dedicated members of staff providing information and guidance to people with dementia or their Carers and wider family or friends. While also helping people understand dementia, cope with day to day living and preparing for the future.
As a Dementia Support Worker you will have the rewarding opportunity to provide support and guidance to people with dementia and their Carers; helping to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them more control of their lives. The service is unique to each service user as it is based upon their personal circumstances and support needs.
You will offer support and guidance to your clients in a variety of ways, at service offices or at other locations, face to face, by phone, letter or email. You will also assist service users to access other services, providing signposting and referrals, as well as facilitating support groups and other group activities.
Support Worker Requirements:
They are looking for an individual who possesses NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) with an understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their Carers. Your ability to assess client needs along with the understanding of the need for client confidentially is essential to providing a valuable and worthwhile service. To be successful in this role you will have excellent non-judgmental communication skills as well as strong organisational and time management skills. Good IT skills and experience working with databases is also essential.
Due to the nature of this role you will be required to travel independently across all of Derbyshire. As a Community-based worker, you will be required to attend a range of meetings at the Nottingham office as and when required. The key area to be covered is the High Peaks however, flexible working across Derbyshire is essential. A DBS disclosure will be required.
