The Health & Safety Manager is part of the Operations, Risk & Compliance (ORC) team, a key component of Corporate Services, and delivers a comprehensive and high-quality service across the organisation. As the Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of health and safety protocols and procedures for our office-based and remote employees, visitors, contractors, and volunteers. Your primary objective will be to ensure compliance with all health and safety related regulations while fostering a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement. You will appreciate the balance of compliance with the law, and the needs of our stakeholders. You’ll be empowered to lead on exciting and varied projects which shape the way our charity works and supports making research breakthroughs possible.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
· Responsibility for inputting into and executing operational plans, and for the operational performance, of the health and safety of the organisation.
· Undertaking operational activities that require good judgement, creativity, and pragmatism, with autonomy and accountability.
· Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures.
· Conduct regular risk assessments according to the needs of the business, including new and expectant mothers, events, health conditions, office assessments, DSE etc.
· Provide guidance and support to employees at all levels on health and safety matters, including training programs and awareness campaigns.
· Keep abreast of changes in health and safety legislation and regulations and ensure company compliance.
· Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
· Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health and safety activities, including incident reports and training records.
· Devise and maintain regular reporting and metrics for organisational use.
· Collaborate with other departments to integrate health and safety considerations into business operations and planning.
· Coordinate with external vendors, such occupational health providers, as necessary.
· Act as a liaison between employees and management regarding health and safety concerns, ensuring that all voices are heard and addressed.
What we are looking for:
· NEBOSH Diploma or degree in occupational health and safety.
· Experience in health and safety management in an office setting.
· Pragmatic and balanced approach to compliance.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
· In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and best practices.
· Confidence in presenting / communicating to groups of people and / or senior leadership.
· Proficiency in MS Office suite and other relevant software applications.
· Excellent communicator, both written and verbal – able to build rapport and demonstrate influencing, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
· Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
· Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks, develop effective solutions, and to exercise good judgement / initiative in a variety of situations.
· Ability to build relationships and inspire confidence and respect at all levels, a strong team player.
· Demonstrates and encourages ownership and responsibility; drive/motivation - has a “can-do” attitude and is committed to delivering results and strives for continuous improvement.

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.
Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals. This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

Salary: Circa£42,000 per annum, plus benefits

Dementia UK offer hybrid working between their office location and home, with requirements of working from their office 1-2 days per week. Salary for this role is between £40-45k per year.
The Marketing Communications Planning Manager is responsible for planning and ensuring the delivery of a strategically aligned plan for the Marketing and Communications Team. Collaborating with others, the post holder will ensure the delivery of insight-led campaigns, planned for the right audience, across the right channel, delivering effective content and messages in the most impactful way.
Working with the Marketing and Brand Lead, they will play a key role in setting our communications priorities and planning key organisational communication ‘moments’, such as our brand campaigns and World Alzheimer’s Month. Key Responsibilities:
· Develop channel strategies – working with the Marketing and Brand Lead, plan and execute campaigns, determining which platforms would have the most impact and working with relevant colleagues to adapt assets to suit the channel they’re being used on.
· Manage marketing and planning briefs – for priority projects, be the first point of contact for marketing briefs, refining briefs, advising colleagues on channel strategies and liaising with Marcomms teams to deliver campaigns and content.

About the Role
Working at an enhanced practice level with support from senior colleagues to deliver a co-ordinated and comprehensive specialist dementia service to patients and their families/carers.
This will include developing knowledge, skills and experience with support from senior colleagues to undertake independent and autonomous practice: comprehensive holistic assessments, agreeing specialist palliative treatment management plans and advance care planning to be delivered through community and out-patient settings.

This role is key to Alzheimer’s Society’s ambitions to drive major, and positive, change at a national level particularly across Wales at an exciting time in dementia policy.
The National Influencing Manager will play a central role in ensuring what the Society thinks about the big issues affecting people affected by dementia is acted upon by national decision makers. This role sits within the Development team, a sub-team of Philanthropy, at Alzheimer’s Society and plays a vital role in the success of our Insurance United Against Dementia campaign. Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD) is a senior volunteer led industry initiative which has raised an incredible £9million to date. We have ambitious plans to reach an initial £10million target within the next 12-months and to take the campaign into a second phase to achieve further impact.
Since the campaign launched in September 2017, we have seen significant success, raising awareness of dementia and the profile of Alzheimer’s Society and IUAD across the industry through corporate partnerships, philanthropy, industry events and owned activities.
We are looking for an individual who matches the ambition of the team and our industry supporter, someone with a personable style that can take ownership of the events fundraising stream and communication plans for the IUAD campaign.
The post holder offers unique opportunities to take responsibility for key initiatives, such as our flagship fundraising event, the Insurance Day for Dementia. The successful candidate will also lead on the securing, development, and delivery of activity within industry events and fundraising events led by industry supporters.
