The Role
In April 2021 the Domestic Abuse Act received Royal Assent. The Act introduces a new civil Domestic Abuse Protection Notice (DAPN) to provide immediate protection following a domestic abuse incident, and a new civil Domestic Abuse Protection Order (DAPO) to provide flexible, longer-term protection for victims. DAPOs can impose both prohibitions and positive requirements on perpetrators. We were commissioned by the Home Office to design a triage model that will assess individuals for the suitability of these interventions; this triage model will be rolled out in the pilot sites which are going live in May 2024 and will be tested and evaluated in order to prepare for national roll out in 2026.The Programme Manager will oversee the roll out and delivery of the DAPO pilot Triage Model.

Responsible for corporate hospitality, the Administrator will provide excellent in-person customer care for visitors to the organisation’s central London Hub and act a first point of contact via the organisation’s in-bound telephone hunt groups.

Role: Centre Manager
Salary: £32,000
Location: Ashbourne, Derbyshire
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week
Scope and Purpose:
As Centre Manager, you will be responsible for the property, grounds and vehicles and manage the on-site facilities team and volunteers, leading them to support & deliver an exceptional Go Beyond experience for children who come on our Breaks. These are residential breaks for small groups of children aged 8-13, who stay with us Monday to Friday during most weeks throughout the year. Delivery of the breaks will be managed by the Team Leader and their team.
You will ensure the centre is operated and maintained in accordance with all relevant legislation, making sure we are safe, secure, and compliant. We have ambitions to develop our site and you will help us with continual improvement and improving our environmental and sustainability practices.
The role includes the facilities management of the centre to facilitate delivery of daily operations, including children’s activities. We aim to maximise the use of the centre and generate income. Your role will be pivotal in raising our profile in the local community, encouraging people to use our centre, supporting potential events, third-party use of our facilities and including the small, self-contained cottage which we let.
You will lead the local team including; Team Leaders, Maintenance, Housekeeping and Centre Cook along with volunteers (including groups of corporate volunteers who help us with on-site tasks). Ensuring not only the buildings, grounds and on-site activity areas are always at their best and ready to be enjoyed but ensuring the centre is kept clean and welcoming for our visitors and that our children and receive a healthy, nutritious meal during their stay. As a charity, we need to make sure this is all kept within budget.
You will need to be financially astute with a keen eye for detail and have practical and working knowledge of general building and estate management, HACCP, COSHH, Legionella, Asbestos, Fire Safety, Risk Assessment and Waste & contractor Management.
You will have a sound knowledge of Safeguarding and understand the importance of how activities can develop curiosity, confidence, resilience and communication skills in children and young people.
You will be a proactive, independent thinker able to manage themselves and lead a team to inspire and ensure Go Beyond provide the best opportunities to young people whilst they are visiting our centres.
Key responsibilities
Operations:
- Responsible for assessing risks, ensuring Health & Safety compliance, asset management, planning, and delivering action plans and regularly reviewing these.
- Responsible for ensuring all contractors are fully inducted and follow the site safeguarding protocol.
- Responsible for Contract management including reviews and renewals.
- To manage the onsite Housekeeping, Maintenance, Catering personnel and Team Leaders including; managing performance, target setting, planning staff training needs, cascading operational objectives, and managing leave and absences.
- Develop, implement and review the Land Management and Centre Management plans.
- Responsible for the management and maintenance of all resources assigned to the centre, including site security, buildings, vehicles, land and equipment and ensuring they are maintained and fit for purpose, replaced as required and set out in the management plan.
- Maintain GDPR and other legal, regulatory and compliance records and planning and oversight of servicing, maintenance and regulatory safety checks.
- To manage resources in a cost-effective manner and improve sustainability in all aspects of our work, including reducing energy, improving recycling, and harvesting rainwater.
- Manage and liaise with customers and agents for lettings (Farmhouse and Cottage) providing assistance as required.
Breaks:
- Accountable for the safety and welfare of the staff, children and young people
- Deputy Safeguarding lead.
- Responsible for defining the strategic growth and development of the centre delivery programme.
- Produce centre based quarterly reports for SLT regarding H&S, Incidents and accidents, Centre and Land development projects including those completed by Corporate Volunteers
- Produce centre based quarterly reports for SLT regarding breaks, young people and volunteers
- Manage the allocated expenditure budget and reporting
- Develop new and existing relationships with the local community and partner agencies e.g. youth organisations.
- Ability to deputise for Director for Children and/or Director of Development and Sustainability as required.

Thrive at Five, a national early years charity are looking for a dynamic early years professional (would suit an experienced EYFS teacher) to work in our pathfinder project area as a Peripatetic Support Leader. The role involves supporting a number of workstreams designed to support professionals, parents and educational settings working with children aged 3 to 5.
This role is key to the successful role out of Thrive at Five’s model, particularly as it applies to children of nursery and school age. The role is about collaborating with a small value-based team operating in Bentilee and Abbey Hulton in Stoke on Trent, and about fostering collaboration between a wide group of stakeholders in the two ward areas and across Stoke more widely. We are not a delivery organization but seek to support a wide variety of stakeholders operating in the early years to work together, and with parents and carers, to support children’s good development. We co-develop sustainable solutions which are delivered and owned by local stakeholders.
Crucial to the success of the project is using your own knowledge and skills, leveraging local and national expertise to support the development of high-quality practice across the early year’s settings and places where parents with children under five attend.
The role will include the co-development with local stakeholders and the delivery, by them, of projects to improve early language and communication and to enrich the home learning environment. The role involves working closely with the Deputy Partnership and Programme Lead (DPPL), the Early Years Lead (0-2) and other Thrive leaders, assisting them to ensure the delivery of high-quality parent, baby and toddler groups including the provision of in the development of high quality, evidence informed home learning materials. The evidence is clear that high quality early years education plays a positive role in raising attainment and closing the gap between outcomes for children from disadvantaged backgrounds and other children. This post is about making this happen in the areas where Thrive at Five work and supporting our partners to achieve this.
Stoke-on-Trent is the first place where Thrive at Five has a programme. The learning from Stoke and other places we work will inform the development of a Thrive at Five model, to be replicated and scaled nationally. ROLE & DUTIES:
1. Act as the early year’s education and childcare learning and care subject matter expert for the programme. and ensure best practice is disseminated.
2. Act as the relationship manager with all early year’s settings in Bentilee and Abbey Hulton and build strong and trusting relationships through regular timetabled meetings with appropriate early years personnel, including childminders.
3. Act as the relationship manager with stakeholders in Stoke-on-Trent who are directly involved in the delivery or who support the delivery of high-quality education and childcare.
4. Take responsibility and accountability for of all 3–5-year-old focused workstreams co-designed to support better outcomes associated with 3- 5-year-old provision and services in line with Thrive at Five’s theory of change.
5. Work closely with Partnership and Programme Lead for Stoke, Deputy Partnership and Programme Lead and the national team to develop robust strategies for 3–5-year-olds (as these evolve from time to time, and as currently defined in point 4).
6. Work with the DPPL on implementation plans for and manage the implementation of the strategies for:
· Improved early language and communications (NELI, Talking Time) including peripatetic support where required and be the link for NELI and Talking Time Workstreams
· Work with others for the smooth transition into nursery and school Ready Steady Stoke.
· Improved home learning environment through evidence-informed parent engagement in nurseries and schools e.g., PEEP
7. Act as the link with all early year’s settings in Bentilee and Abbey Hulton through timetabled meetings with appropriate early years personnel, including childminders to strengthen local practice.
8. Build and sustain an (external) 3-5 Working Group – to ensure local stakeholders are empowered to participate fully in and take co-ownership of workstreams developed by Thrive at Five.
9. Ensure that the 3-5 Working Group includes representation from practitioners from non-school settings, and individuals from any other local voluntary, private and public sector organisations whose role has a direct bearing on the development and delivery of the 3-5 workstreams.
10. Be a part of the dissemination of good practice.
11. Undertake the line management of the Flexi Support staff recruited to provide capacity to early year school settings in the delivery of the Thrive at Five workstreams.
12. The appropriate candidate will need to be able to work confidently with settings and appropriate partners to ensure the early years 3-5 in target wards are as effective possible.
13. Collaborate with the learning and impact teams (internal and external) fundraising and wider national team and other Thrive at Five teams as required.
14. Support settings in their endeavours to improve the number of children reaching GLD and for Thrive to achieve it primary goal.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
A teaching qualification, preferably in Early Years is required for this post.

They will also need to work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Hallé as well as with external customers and suppliers.
The post is full-time permanent based on a 36.25-hour week. Our core office hours are 09.00-17:15, from Monday to Friday. There is an option to work up to 50% of hours from home.
