We have an exciting opportunity for a Wellbeing Activities Worker to join our Oxford team. This new role is all about expanding the support we offer to clients, focusing on mental wellbeing and ongoing recovery.

Your work will help connect people with their communities, reduce the risk of hospital admission and rough sleeping, sustain people’s tenancies and enable clients to reconnect with and explore new hobbies  by providing holistic mental health and wellbeing support.

As a Wellbeing Activities Worker you will work across different settings within the community, clients’ accommodation, and day centres to engage and support people experiencing homelessness.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design and deliver 1:1/group sessions and activities to promote good mental wellbeing – such as healthy cooking, exercise, mindfulness, gardening, creative projects, volunteering, and community-based activities.
• Empower clients to access opportunities, attend appointments, and build confidence, resilience, and social networks.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients on recovery plans, helping set and achieve goals that improve mental wellbeing; may include identifying training, volunteering, and employment opportunities.
• Manage clients’ budgets and personalisation funds, and maintain accurate records such as risk assessments and case notes.
• Recruit and supervise peer volunteers, and ensure client voices help shape service delivery.
• Build strong partnerships with local mental health and wellbeing services.
• Your normal working hours will be (Mon-Fri) on site.

• Experience of inspiring and empowering  vulnerable people with complex needs, to identify and achieve goals that aim to improve their wellbeing.
• Team working and collaboration skills to work across different services to  overcome barriers for those facing multiple disadvantages.
• Understanding of homelessness and the challenges that impact engagement in wellbeing support.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage your time and build relationships with clients, colleagues, and partners.
• Knowledge of action planning and confidence using IT systems for administration and reporting.
• Experience delivering activities, in both 1:1 and group sessions.

The role 

SAFE! Support for Young People Affected by Crime is a dynamic Oxford based charity working across the Thames Valley.We are looking for experienced practitioners to provide support on a freelance basis to young people and parents/caregivers across all our services.Sessional practitioners are contracted on a freelance basis to provide one-to-one support to young people and their parents.There are also opportunities to co-facilitate group work.Sessions may be delivered remotely or face to face, dependent upon the needs of clients.Freelancers are home-based practitioners who travel to meet young people and /or parents face-to-face (within a 25-mile radius), provide remote support online, or a combination of both.

Offering day to day support to volunteers, providing learning, shadowing and mentoring and being a consistent role model for our values are also key aspects of the role.

About you

You are able to listen to, engage and work with individuals and communities and with all stakeholders, including people with lived experience of homelessness. You will have knowledge of and/or proven ability in housing and homelessness advice and advocacy and are able to progress to specialist level knowledge, training will be provided. You will have the ability to carry out casework related interviews, maintain detailed case records, advise and support clients to make informed decisions, as well as a collaborative, flexible and professional approach to your work.

Role summary

The Fundraising Assistant role is a vital role for Edward’s Trust’s Fundraising Team. You will be assisting with all areas of Fundraising from being the first point of call for supporters and volunteers, to support them with fundraising activities, ensuring they are thanked, and communications are personal and timely. In this vital role, you’ll provide free, independent, and confidential advice to students across a range of key areas. We are looking for someone who will be able to support students professionally and with a high level of empathy, ensuring they feel heard, informed, and empowered to take the next steps. 

You’ll enjoy this role if you’re interested in the law and getting to grips with regulations, policies and procedures, so you can help students to understand their rights and resolve the problems they face. As a Student Advisor, you will be able to respond sensitively and compassionately to students in distress or facing crisis and will have an ability to give practical and emotional support. Excellent communication skills are essential. 

The Advice Service also provides a supported self-help offer and as a team we deliver promotional and preventative campaigns. This role will really suit you if you’re enthusiastic and approachable and would enjoy speaking to students and our stakeholders in a variety of settings. We’re also looking for candidates with an interest for writing social media and website copy and would like to be involved in designing and delivering presentations, interactive stalls, training and workshops. 

You’ll be part of a small, supportive and dedicated team, working in a busy, varied environment that puts student wellbeing at the heart of everything we do. • Create and Share Resources: Develop accessible self-help materials (articles, videos, workshops) to empower students and reduce reliance on one-to-one services. 
• Promote the Service: Take part in outreach activities, including campaigns, events, and training, to raise awareness and improve access to advice and support. 
• Track and Report Issues: Use our case management system to record casework clearly and securely and help monitor trends in student issues to inform future campaigns. 
• Collaborate and Contribute: Work closely with colleagues across UMSU to support key periods like Welcome Week and elections, contributing to a supportive and inclusive student experience.

The post holder will be fully involved in all aspects of the day to day management of their designated service, including line managing the relevant front line staff. You will lead and develop competence of direct reports as well as carry caseloads of customers requiring support.

What you'll do:
- Lead and motivate your team to ensure the championing of and maintenance of a positive local culture within your service
- Deliver effective supervision and team meetings with staff and ensure that information, reporting and communication
- Responsible for the personal development of staff, identifying high performers and feeding into the organisations succession plans
- Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) required as part of the Contract are met and recorded correctly
- Develop key business relationships with all appropriate relevant customers/external parties to ensure service delivery excellence and maximise new business opportunities in own patch
- Participate in and monitor the initial and continuous assessment of needs and ensure that support planning is carried out in line with assessed needs of the customer
- Carry out other administrative tasks as relevant to the service and directed by the Contract/Heads of Operations
- Deliver an out of hours on-call service for region, where required
- Ensure that all safeguarding cases are managed in line with safeguarding protocols and are reported to Contract Manager/Head of Operations, as appropriate

Key Responsibilities

Policy Development

• Monitor and analyse political and policy developments in criminal justice to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
• Work with service users, staff, and research colleagues to develop evidence-based policy positions.

• Serve as Nacro’s internal expert on criminal justice policy.
   

Public Affairs & Influencing

• Develop and deliver a public affairs plan that advances Nacro’s influencing objectives.

• Attend and represent Nacro at APPGs, parliamentary meetings, and external events.
• Produce parliamentary briefings and contribute to legislative engagement.

Communications & Support

• Provide content for media statements, blogs, and external communications.
