About the volunteer

Description

We are looking for a volunteer who:

· Making design improvements and creating new website layouts and templates using design software

· Integrating graphics, audio, and video into the website

· Creating website elements (e.g., icons, banners, pages, audio enhancements, etc.)

· Ensuring the website is optimised for mobile devices

· Testing the website in various browsers and modifying design as necessary

· Performing website updates as required by the client or management

· Maintaining and enhancing the website once built

· Understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles

· Has good communications and organisation skills

· Understands the resource constraints of a small charity and is able to work with these.

Role Summary. 

Key tasks

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile and web applications using Flutter for both iOS and Android platforms.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define application features and user experiences.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and team collaboration.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications, resolving issues and optimizing performance as needed.

What we’re looking for

• Eagerness to Learn: A strong desire to learn and contribute to our mission is essential.
• Experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong focus on mobile and web application development using Flutter, Firebase and/or RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of mobile and web application architecture and design patterns, including clean architecture, microservices, client-server, or serverless architecture.
• Experience with testing frameworks or libraries relevant to Flutter development..
• Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, GitHub, Figma.

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

Create fun, interactive, and high-quality educational content for children and teenagers aged 5–18. You'll be developing engaging digital lessons, quizzes, games, and videos that focus on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness. This role blends creativity with impact—helping kids learn real-world skills while earning money through Life Hub’s Edu-Jobs feature.

Responsibilities include:

Designing videos, activities, and games aligned with our 360-degree learning model.

Researching best practices in teaching financial and entrepreneurial skills to young learners.

Collaborating with designers, subject matter experts, and tech teams to bring content to life.

Integrating gamification strategies like badges and progress trackers to motivate learners.

Ensuring content quality, clarity, and alignment with real-world application through Edu-Jobs.

You will thrive in this role if you're passionate about youth empowerment, digital education, and making learning fun.
