About Us

Grove Park Youth Club is an accessible and dedicated space for local children and young people, situated in a remarkable, purpose-built youth club building, constructed in 1966 as part of the Chinbrook Estate development. We are a registered charity (Ref No. 1196106) located on Marvels Lane in Grove Park (SE12 9PR), within the London Borough of Lewisham.

Our mission is to make Grove Park Youth Club a hub for local children and young people to learn, build connections, and explore and develop their interests. We provide a safe and welcoming space where young people can engage in fun and educational activities, sports and cultural activities, build life skills, as well as seek support with the pressures they face in the wider world.

The youth club is managed by a community-led Trust of people connected to the area who led a seven-year campaign to save and reopen the building. We are a small charity that has achieved exceptional success in reopening the youth club and taking control of this purpose-built space. This opportunity offers the right candidate the chance to play a key role in expanding our offer and working closely with the Trust to take our project forward. Accordingly, we offer a competitive rate of pay at £29.37 per hour.

GPYC Studios is our flagship in-house open access youth club launched in 2023, serving local children and young people aged 11–17 (up to 21 with SEND). Its ethos rests upon a creative approach to wellbeing, valuing empathy, acceptance, positivity, and growth. Our programming aims to spark curiosity and nurture self-discovery in a safe and inclusive environment. Through creativity, opportunity, and advocacy, we empower young people to make a positive impact on themselves, their community, and beyond.

Job Role

The GPYC Studios Creative Wellbeing Lead will work in close collaboration with the Trust and report directly to the Chair. This multifaceted role includes responsibilities across team leadership, programme development, outreach and engagement, partnership management, and on-site delivery. In addition to this, the Lead will be expected to fill the role of Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO), for which training can be provided for.

Whilst the role has a considerable administrative element, it is key that the Creative Wellbeing Lead brings a strong sense of creativity, flexibility, and play to the space. Being present and physically facilitating fun and constructive interactions with young people is crucial.

The Creative Wellbeing Lead will be supported by a Creative Wellbeing Assistant (to be recruited in February 2026) in both organising and delivering the programme, alongside two Creative Wellbeing Practitioners who specialise in pastoral care, and a team of sessional youth workers.

This is a part-time position, working 10.5 hours per week at a rate of £29.37. The role includes regular on-site presence during our sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (7 hours total). In addition, availability during standard working hours (Monday to Friday) is required to fulfil 3.5 hours of remote work. The role will commence in January 2026.

Contract type: Zero hours contract

Salary: £15,422 per annum based on a 50 week year (GPYC is closed for 2 weeks in Dec/Jan)
*NB. This equates pro rata, based on a 40 hour week, to an annual salary of £58,740

Rate: £29.37 per hour

Hours: 10.5 hours per week (7 hours on location at specified time, 3.5 hours remote work)

About You

The right candidate will be energetic and creative, with significant experience working with young people aged 11-17. You will be able to provide practical, physical, and emotional support to the children and young people attending GPYC Studios. You are eager to share your personal practice and keen to build upon it.

You will be excited about our work and want to be part of the greater Grove Park Youth Club journey, leading by example and working as a team player to shape how our vision is delivered and realised. You will deliver the existing programme with drive, and be ambitious to lead the sustainable expansion of the GPYC Studios brand.

• Lead the administration, management, and operational delivery of our free, open-access youth club sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, overseeing a team of youth workers and volunteers to achieve a shared vision

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

As Clerk to the Board of Governors

Provide procedural, regulatory, and governance advice to the Board of Governors. Responsibilities include:

• provide administrative support to the governing body, for example: co-ordinating calendar of dates for governing body meetings and preparing agendas, taking notes at meetings for the preparation of minutes and ensuring that all decisions are recorded accurately and objectively, including timescales for actions

• Support the implementation and effective use of New Governance Software and lead the shift to using Generative AI for note taking at meetings. Update and maintain a database of Governance information, ensuring secure handling of confidential data and information in compliance with College Policy and the General Data Protection Regulations.

• support the development and performance of governors in their role, for example: updating them on changes in legislation and policy, informing them of appropriate training and helping them understand their duties

• offer advice to governors and the college on the correct governance procedures and how to improve governance

• Work with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to ensure a high level of governor engagement by ensuring an up-to-date calendar of opportunities, appropriate communications and effective tracking and gathering of feedback

As Governance and Performance Manager

• Support the College’s internal governance function, providing administrative support in scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and taking notes/minutes. Lead the shift to using Generative AI for note taking at meetings and in systems and Processes to improve efficiency.

• Work with the Executive Leadership Team and wider leadership team to co-ordinate regular strategy updates and report on progress against strategic goals and agreed KPIs.

• Input into, and support with the co-ordination of the College’s Wider Leadership Forum and All-Staff sessions.

• Update and Maintain the College’s Risk Register and Master Policy Schedule.

• Assist with co-ordinating internal audit reviews in accordance with approved internal audit plan.

• Receive and co-ordinate timely responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.

• Be a collaborative, enthusiastic member of the College’s wider leadership team, working closely with Staff and Governors to help deliver our ambitious strategy.

• Undertaking other duties commensurate with the role as directed by the Chair or Director of Finance and Compliance.

The Work Rights Centre, in partnership with the LEF Fellowship Programme, is looking for a Trainee Solicitor to join our ambitious and driven team. We are a charity set up by migrants and for migrants, and every day our multilingual team of legal advisers stand up for their employment rights and secure their immigration status. 

This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with a strong sense of justice, who is looking to build a career in a legal profession. This role will suit someone who values impact, and the opportunity to make a real  difference in the lives of vulnerable migrant workers and disadvantaged Britons.

You will be able to learn from three experienced solicitors, exercise your skills as an adviser, and progress your career in a friendly and supportive environment. The LEF Fellowship Programme will cover the cost of your mandatory legal training and exams. By the end of two years you will have had the chance to complete your SQE training and gain the required practical experience to fully qualify as a solicitor.

The role

As the Trainee Solicitor,  you’ll work on a stimulating range of issues across two wide areas of law -  Immigration (in Year 1) and Employment (in Year 2). You will learn how best to support vulnerable clients with limited English language and digital skills, how to spot signs of modern slavery or manage safeguarding concerns.

Working with our immigration team, you will help clients understand and secure their immigration status in the UK. You will support clients who have limited leave to remain (e.g. on employer-sponsored visas, Ukraine Visa Schemes, or pre-settled EUSS status) or who are entirely undocumented. Working with our employment team, you will work on cases involving non-payment of wages, non-provision of work, unlawful deductions, race and gender discrimination, or unfair dismissals. Crucially, you will have the opportunity to understand the real-life intersection of the two areas of law, as they are often experienced by the same clients. 

This is a brilliant opportunity to gain well-rounded experience across all stages of the legal process, including interviewing clients, collecting information and assessing evidence, taking down witness statements, providing over the phone and written advice, and collating evidence bundles. 

Alongside your legal work and SQE2 study, you will complete an independent social justice project aligned with your personal interests and objectives of the charity. This might entail legal research, sourcing strategic cases, or compiling data on the impact of the current policies. Working on this project will give you an opportunity to conduct strategic legal work contributing to systemic change.

About you 

Desirably you will have some experience of working as an Advocate, providing welfare, supporting, or caring for Adults or young people who have support needs, ideally for those with a variety of communication needs, mental ill health, physical health issues, or barriers to accessing education and support.

How are staff supported to work remotely?

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.

When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs). 

VoiceAbility offers the usual regular manager one to ones, Staff forums and communities of practice depending on role. Team meetings with a mix of virtual and in person approach.

Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity and has been supporting vulnerable people in Hertfordshire since 1998. We are professional, passionate, collaborative and supportive charity that provides guidance to everyone who is in need of support.

The successful candidate willdeliver a high-quality service to young people aged 16–17 and their families across Hertfordshire, working alongside the Family Link Work and Mediation services to prevent family breakdown and reduce repeat homelessness.
