Warm Welcome Campaign Operations Director

Location: Fully remote with flexible working arrangements

Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per year FTE, dependent on experience

Contract: We are open to this role being part time (0.8FTE) or full time. We offer fully flexible working.

Founded in 2022, the Warm Welcome Campaign wants everyone in the UK to find a place of belonging and reconnection at a Warm Welcome Space near their home. We have a bold ambition to enable a more deeply connected society where we all have free access to welcoming community spaces. 

We resource, connect and champion a network of over 5,300 Warm Welcome Spaces and bring together a growing coalition of local, regional, and national partners representing the worlds of charity, faith, business, government, and philanthropy. The Opportunity

To support ongoing growth and development of the Warm Welcome Campaign, we are looking for a Campaign Operations Director to be responsible for the effective and efficient running of the Campaign and to lead on the delivery of our ambitious 5-year strategy. The role will sit within Warm Welcome’s Senior Leadership Team which also includes the Campaign Director, Director of Communications, and Development Director, and will report directly to the Campaign Director (David Barclay).

The purpose of the Warm Welcome Senior Leadership Team is to:

● Own and develop the Warm Welcome strategy, ensuring sustainability and delivery

● Lead, direct, engage and inspire the Warm Welcome team, setting the tone and culture

● Be accountable for significant decisions, challenges and risks.

The role will be responsible for:

● Ensuring that our 5-year strategy is delivered on time and to budget

● Managing the Warm Welcome financial management, including internal budgeting, financial reporting, and the development of budgets for funding applications

Working Arrangements

● Current members of the team are based across the UK, with some in London, Reading, Bristol, Manchester and Northern Ireland. Applicants must be able to travel to Bristol once a month for a Tuesday full team meeting. Given the nature of this role we would also expect the applicant to carry out a reasonable amount of travel to both Warm Welcome Spaces and partners across the UK.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Global Safeguarding Team as our Senior Global Safeguarding Specialist reporting to the Global Safeguarding Director. This is a senior role in the team and will play a key part in managing and supervising safeguarding cases and investigations, as well as providing proactive support and guidance to Members and Country Programmes on a range of safeguarding topics. The role involves a considerable about of proactive prevention work such as designing and facilitating training and resources for a range of audiences (Boards, staff groups, volunteers, communities). The role involves organisation and facilitation of large-scale events and management of the Safeguarding Focal Point Network. This role supports the Global Safeguarding Director in implementing safeguarding policies and standards and works closely to deliver core safeguarding projects across the federation. In this role you’ll also: 

• Lead and Co-lead safeguarding support country programme / member visits.
• Maintain and update core safeguarding policies and standards as and when required.
• Actively engage with external safeguarding networks to ensure WaterAid continues to contribute to improve sector safeguarding standards and engages in relevant sector initiatives.
• Monitor compliance with global safeguarding standards in relation to core performance indicators.
• Lead on planning and developing, training resources such as webinars, videos, and guidance documents for multiple audiences.

Requirements

To be successful, you’ll need: 

• Proven track record of working in a safeguarding environment with significant case management experience of at least 5 years.
• Significant experience in conducting safeguarding investigations and risk-based interviewing.
• Experience of report writing skills, including risk assessments and risk management report writing.
• Technical knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and protection principles and standards.
• Understanding and knowledge of applying a trauma survivor centred approach
• Experience of working with vulnerable groups such as young people and vulnerable communities.
• Knowledge of UK and globally relevant safeguarding legislation and guidance.
• Experience of working in challenging, face paced, and complex environments.
• Experience of safeguarding policy design and implementation.
• To be able to confidentiality communicate in English both written and spoken.

Job Title: Duty Independent Gender Violence Advocate (Duty IGVA)

Location: Lambeth, London
Salary: £23,085.69 per annum, inclusive of London weighting allowance

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Duty Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to be the first point of contact for women who are impacted by domestic violence. You will work closely with victims of domestic abuse from the point of crisis and other gender-based abuse to provide high quality independent support to survivors all risk levels and their children..

In this role you will be part of a busy team. You will be the first point of contact for survivors who have been referred to the Gaia Centre. The duty IGVA will be responding to daily enquiries (specify from whom- public, agencies, individuals? over the phone and email as well as contacting survivors, assessing their risks and needs.

The duty IGVA will be responsible for carrying out and implementing safety plans and needs and will ensure an effective handover to the over to the relevant GAIA team for ongoing support. The post holder will also empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. You will ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options. The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

Scope of role

This recently created role within the Noah’s Ark Charity, which will grow our regional community fundraising presence and offering.  The postholder will know the West Wales area well and will become the expert in fundraising opportunities within the region, building strong relationships within the community, including companies and will develop supporter-led activity. The postholder will plan for and deliver income for the charity within the region, in line with wider fundraising strategy. 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Income generation

- To plan for and deliver income to target through key performance indicators as agreed with community fundraising manager.

- To develop new supporter relationships within the community, in a planned way, to achieve income and provide excellent supporter care to ensure the relationship is ongoing, beyond one-off support for the charity.

- To lead on and deliver community fundraising within the region, through relationships with patient families, third party fundraisers, community groups, schools and education establishments and public bodies.

- To build strong corporate partnerships within the region, to an agreed income level, with the support of the community fundraising manager and head of fundraising and development.

- To lead on key projects to develop income generation.

- To record all communications accurately on the database, ensuring information is gathered and recorded in accordance with the requirements of the data protection act, GDPR and the charity’s data protection policy.

- To deliver an excellent supporter journey and contribute to the central supporter journey for community fundraising. 

4. Cross team working

- To work collaboratively with fundraising colleagues across the team to deliver wider fundraising income and charity objectives.  For example, gifts in wills, regular giving, event participation, volunteering and communications.

5. Budgets

- Work with the community fundraising manager and head of fundraising and development, to build and manage a detailed fundraising budget, including income and expenditure.

- Provide forecasts throughout the year, for agreed streams of income.

6. Best practice

- Ensure all fundraising practice is in line with organisational guidelines and policies.

- Encourage and champion compliance and best practice within the fundraising team.

South East London Mind’s award-winning Mindful Mums programme aims to build resilience and prevent pregnant and new mums from developing mental health problems during the perinatal period (pregnancy up to 1 year). The service has supported over 4,000 parents within the last eight years.

We are looking for a Senior Project Coordinator (Maternity Cover) to act as our Single Point of Access for professionals, service users and volunteers. The role is responsible for managing all referrals, providing holistic and person-centred support to vulnerable women experiencing mental health challenges. The role will provide high quality and supportive line management of staff, and will oversee the recruitment life cycle of volunteers to the Mindful Mums project, including interviews, onboarding, training and supervision.

You will be highly organised with experience of staff and data management in a target-driven environment. Working independently but collaboratively, you will take a solution-focused approach to improve processes and will be able to utilise databases to produce and analyse reports. You will also be a confident facilitator, as some group and training delivery will be expected.

This role would ideally suit a parent who has successfully managed their own perinatal mental health problems and those with good understanding of promoting positive perinatal mental wellbeing.
