Job description

The Role

This is an exciting new role that will steer the development of a new youth led development opportunities platform, building on the legacy of O2 Go Think Big, the current platform. You will build a youth team to evolve and deliver a digital hub and programme providing youth work support,  information, insight, inspiration and a range of opportunities to 16-24 year olds to improve their next steps and employability readiness.

At the heart of this is the engagement of young people in shaping and steering the programme as it establishes and grows. You will be the enabler; supporting young people to lead and flourish whilst providing a great source of support for other young people.

Working with NYA colleagues and stakeholders, you will secure great partnerships with corporates, national and regional organisations within the youth and careers landscape to broaden the offer and create sustainable funding. Excellent youth work practice will support a team of young people to develop and deliver this project.  Your operational management skills will ensure you are able to deliver and demonstrate success.

The platform will add value to the current employability landscape through forging strong partnerships with employability organisations, using youth work as the methodology and ethos to connect, develop and build.

The future of our platform is in the hands of young people, guided by the support of you in this role.NYA holds a unique position within the youth sector.

Who we are

We are the national body for youth work, and the Professional Statutory Regulatory Body (PSRB) for youth work in England. We are the cornerstone of a great profession and we have been transforming lives through youth work for over 50 years. We strive every day to champion, professionalise and enable great youth work, driving up the quality and quantity of safe and impactful practice.

If you feel as motivated as we do to empower young people to reach their potential and find the path to the positive and fulfilling futures they all deserve, then we would love to hear from you.

We are committed to inclusivity and to employing and supporting a diverse workforce. To reflect the communities we serve, we strive to bring different backgrounds, cultures, age, experience and identity to enrich our insights and power the work we do together.

We welcome applications from groups currently under-represented in our organisation including Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups.

Why join us

Our work is vital, we are passionate and committed to what we do and we need the very best from our talented team to thrive. At NYA we operate as a people first organisation, with a flexible working approach that helps us balance our work with life. We are a predominately remotely based team across England with a head office in Leicester. Despite the geographical distance between us, our digital use, shared focus and supportive culture make us a highly connected team. We also provide committed time and funds to support personal and professional development.

We provide 25 days leave plus 8 days, life assurance scheme and 5% NYA pension contribution.
