Programme Delivery Officer role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Programmes Team as a Programme Delivery Officer. PDOs are responsible for supporting and coordinating the delivery of First Give in up to 50 schools, ensuring smooth running of the programme, providing guidance and troubleshooting for the Lead Teachers.

The role is home-based, in Yorkshire, with regular travel to schools across the county and occasional forays to schools in the North-West. Several times a year travel will be required to London, where our office is based.

• Contract: 18-month FTC
• Salary: £26,840

Key responsibilities

• Provide logistic and programme support to teachers delivering the First Give programme at their school, including but not limited to:
  • an introductory Programme Call with the Lead teacher;
  • delivering a briefing to class teachers;
  • troubleshooting via phone and email;
  • booking in First Give facilitated sessions
• Ensure all programmes are delivering all core elements of the First Give programme
• Update and monitor Salesforce to track programme delivery
• Liaise with freelance facilitators to ensure events at schools are effectively staffed
• Deliver Launch Assemblies, Workshops and First Give Finals in partner schools
• Collect data for monitoring (student surveys, teacher surveys, identifying potential stories of impact, writing programme reports)

This is a new role at Befriending Networks, as we seek someone who is up for the challenge of fundraising to support the continuation of our work in supporting the network of befriending organisations and ensuring that meaningful social connection is available to all.

The River Great Ouse Valley Wetland Arc Project 

The Parks Trust has been awarded £213,000 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to create a landscape-scale masterplan for the River Great Ouse Valley Wetland Arc. This wonderful landscape spans 355 hectares (approximately 500 football pitches) along the River Great Ouse in the north of Milton Keynes. The Wetland Arc project will help The Parks Trust to plan for a future of nature recovery along the river valley and encourage community participation in and activation of the landscape.

The Policy and Impact Team sits at the heart of Volunteering Matters. We’re looking for a Trusts Fundraising Officer to join our Income Generation team at the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. You’ll help secure funding from charitable trusts and foundations, supporting our vital work and strategic goals. You’ll manage a portfolio of funders, develop new opportunities, and create high-quality proposals that bring our work to life. You’ll also build strong relationships across teams and ensure accurate and timely reporting.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys writing strong, impactful proposals and is keen to be more involved in building relationships, both internally and externally. You’ll be supported by a collaborative, friendly team and given a diverse portfolio with the chance to shape our future approach and influence how we work. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of charitable trusts and grant-making bodies to achieve income targets
• Research and identify new funding prospects
• Develop clear, well-structured proposals for low- and mid-value funders
• Build strong internal relationships to support collaborative working
• Deliver timely and accurate reports and updates to funders
• Provide excellent stewardship to funders to support long-term engagement
• Maintain accurate and consistent records of fundraising data
• Contribute to wider team targets as part of the High Value team

About You:

• Proven experience of trust fundraising, meeting income targets
• Strong writing skills, with the ability to tailor content for different funders
• Confident in identifying and researching suitable funding opportunities
• Able to build and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally
• Highly organised and able to prioritise a varied workload
• Strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Skilled in using Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Dynamics 365 experience is desirable)

About You

Key skills and experience required:

• Recognised accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA) or part-qualified in final stages of completion
• Strong financial analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to produce and present concise financial reports
• Experience of managing and developing teams in dispersed or matrix settings
• Proven experience in the International NGO sector
• Experience producing consolidated statutory accounts under Charity UK SORP and managing multi-site international audits
• Experience with multi-currency and grant accounting
• Excellent understanding of financial processes, procedures, and related systems
• Experience of leading a month-end process, including preparation of management accounts
• Experience using cloud-based accounting systems (QuickBooks and/or Xero preferred)
• Understanding of commercial accounting and Gift Aid

Desirable:

• Experience mentoring colleagues remotely
• Experience working in a fully remote role
• Experience in a similar field (e.g. artisan communities or cultural heritage)

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes at HMP Littlehey & HMP Bedford. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. 

This role will be prison based.
