As PR and Media Officer, you will play a crucial role in raising the profile of Marie Curie through compelling storytelling, high-impact media campaigns, and strategic press engagement. Reporting to the Senior PR & Media Officer and working closely with the wider team, your work will directly contribute to influencing public understanding of end of life care, supporting fundraising efforts, and positioning Marie Curie as the UKs leading end of life charity.

Your creativity, media know-how, and relationship-building skills will help us deliver standout coverage and meaningful public engagement that drives the charity's long-term goals.

Main responsibilities:
- Support the development and delivery of national PR campaigns that promote fundraising and brand objectives.
- Help manage the charity's national press office/newsroom, proactively and reactively responding to media opportunities.
- Draft and distribute press releases, statements, briefings, and Q&As to position Marie Curie as a leading voice in end of life care.
- Build and nurture relationships with journalists across print, online and broadcast media.
- Work closely with internal teams to source stories and case studies that drive media impact and support strategic KPIs.
- Identify and prepare media spokespeople and storytellers, ensuring authentic and powerful representation of lived experiences.
- Monitor emerging issues and support on reputational risk and crisis communications.
- Take part in the on-call rota, including occasional out-of-hours, weekend and bank holiday working.
- Track and evaluate media coverage against agreed performance metrics.

Key Criteria:
- Previous experience in public relations (in-house or agency), particularly in a press office/newsroom setting or as a journalist?
- A confident communicator and skilled writer, with strong attention to detail and sensitivity when handling personal stories.
- Strong knowledge of the UK media landscape and current affairs, with a proven ability to secure impactful coverage.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- A nose for a good story and the initiative to pursue media opportunities as they arise.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

Methodist Ministers’ Housing Society (MMHS) provides quality housing and associated services for Methodist Church ministers and their spouses/partners. They currently support around 650 ministerial households across the UK, Isle of Man, and Channel Islands. In their last financial year, total income was £5.7 million and total funds were £187.8m. The market rented portfolio is being sold and the proceeds of sale are being reinvested. The Job Role

As the Director of Finance, ICT and Investments, you will play a pivotal role in shaping MMHS’s financial strategy to support its strategic objectives and enable sound decision-making. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will have a strategic mindset, with the ability to provide insights to your senior colleagues, and you will provide advice and guidance to the board of trustees, becoming a trusted partner. You will develop and deliver financial plans, oversee financial systems to ensure robust control and compliance, and lead key financial activities such as monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, projections, and annual audits. Additionally, you will identify financial challenges and opportunities, develop approaches to address them, and lead and motivate your small team to cultivate a high-performing culture.

In ICT, you will implement MMHS’s strategy effectively, leading transformation projects to modernise and improve technology infrastructure and processes. You will oversee cloud migration, drive data-driven decision-making by leveraging AI and automation, implement plans to support outsourcing, and ensure robust cybersecurity and disaster recovery planning. You will also manage relationships with MMHS’s external support and services provider.

With investments, you will implement MMHS’s strategy, working closely with investment managers and third-party experts to align MMHS’s portfolio with strategic objectives, providing guidance to senior colleagues and the board.
 

The Person

This is a key post for the organisation, and they are looking for someone who can provide a long-term view while being ‘hands-on’ with day-to-day operations. You will be a fully qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA or equivalent) with significant experience in a leadership role. Experience or a desire to quickly upskill in investments is a distinct advantage. You will have the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels. You will be someone who embraces change and continuous improvement. You will also be a team-player with strong interpersonal and communication skills. These are exciting times for the Charity, and we have an excellent opportunity for an empathetic and professional Emotional and Mental Wellbeing Practitioner with outstanding interpersonal and diplomatic skills to join the dedicated Wellbeing Team.

Position: 1941 Emotional and Mental Wellbeing Practitioner

Location: Remote (onsite attendance currently anticipated to be approximately 1 day per quarter)

Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week (undertaken flexibly to meet the needs of clients between the hours of 08:30 and 16:30, Monday to Friday)

Salary: £18,117 - £25,986 (FTE £30,195 - £43,310)

Contract: Permanent - starting as soon as possible

About the Role

As Emotional and Mental Wellbeing (EMW) Practitioner, you will offer specialist interventions to staff and volunteers seeking emotional and mental health support and will provide advice to a team of volunteer Mental Health First Aiders. Specialist support provided will include a wide range of approaches, including assessment, information, applied psychosocial interventions, health promotion, and illness prevention services. Liaison with external agencies will also be required to ensure excellent support for staff and volunteers with acute emotional and mental wellbeing needs.

About You

You will have:

· Recognised level 5, or equivalent, training or qualification in applied psychosocial interventions (e.g. coaching, counselling, psychotherapies, CBT, EFT, NLP).

· A minimum of 100 hours successful practice of applied psychosocial interventions.

· A Mental Health First Aid accreditation or equivalent.

· Experience of preparing and delivering staff development and training.

· Knowledge of current professional developments in emotional and mental wellbeing practice and/or applied psychosocial interventions.

· Ability to work as an independent professional practitioner and able to make independent decisions.

· A capacity to negotiate and manage ethical dilemmas, and to set and maintain appropriate boundaries.

You will provide advice and representation to rough sleepers within northwest London to end homelessness. By resolving immigration status of service users, you will help eliminate destitution and allow them to access support for a better future - an initiative funded under the London Councils Homelessness Project. 

You will work closely with supporting organisations including local authorities and homelessness organisations to break down barriers caused by immigration status and support migrant communities to thrive and become independent.

Sadly, due to In the height of the cost of living crisis, homlessness persists in the capital. As a result, the Mayors project has now been extended to end of March 2026 so we can continue supporting those facing destitution.

SLRA is a well established local migrant support organisation working alongside refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants who are at risk or in crisis due to immigration issues. Our committed, supportive team works alongside local volunteers to provide a range of services including advice and casework, supportive group sessions, youth casework and activities for families and young people. 

We are looking for a Youth Caseworker to work alongside young refugees, asylum seekers and other young migrants who are at risk or in crisis, to ensure that they can access their statutory rights and achieve their full potential. The Youth Caseworker will provide holistic casework, advice and practical support to young people aged 14 to 24 years, working closely with statutory and voluntary organisations to ensure that the immediate and longer-term needs of young people are met.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

• Substantial experience of working with refugee, asylum seeking, unaccompanied asylum seeking and/or other migrant children and young people in the UK, along with experience of delivering casework, advice and advocacy support.
• Knowlege of the issues faced by refugee, asylum seeking and vulnerable migrant children and young people, and the policy and legistration which affects them.
