Charity People are delighted to be partnering with Suzy Lamplugh Trust, a charity which works towards creating a society where people are, and feel, safer, to bring on board an approachable and results driven Service Manager.

The Suzy Lamplugh Trust was established in memory of Suzy Lamplugh, a young estate agent who tragically disappeared while at work in 1986 and was later declared deceased in 1993. Created to honour Suzy's legacy, the Trust aims to empower individuals and organisations to take a stand against abuse, aggression, and violence in all forms, supporting safety in both personal and professional lives.

Charity People are looking for an ambitious and adaptable Service Manager to lead and deliver on the charity's operational projects, ensuring that their work has maximum impact and is embedded into the core output of the charity. You will need to be able to be reactive, adaptable, and forward thinking for this role. This role will line mange four team leaders and report into the Director of Services & Development.
Suzy Lamplugh Trust's operational services include the National Stalking Helpline and Advocacy Service which offers support and advice to thousands of victims of stalking every year. Caseworkers advocate on victims' behalf with police, social services and other statutory or victim support agencies. They also run London Stalking Support, a specific service to provide advice and advocacy for victims in London, including the development of a trauma-led approach to advocacy.

Overall purpose of role:
* To ensure effective oversight and evaluation of operational activity within the portfolio, including effective line management of team leaders
* To promote the work of Suzy Lamplugh Trust including the National Stalking Helpline and advocacy services, strengthening our voice as an authority on stalking and personal safety
* To support the Director to identify service quality opportunities and lead on their effective mobilisation and implementation

Key responsibilities:

* Provide management oversight in all areas of service delivery, ensuring services are delivered consistently and to the highest standard in line with current guidance and best practice.
* Effectively manage budgets and staffing across the projects and prepare reports for funders and stakeholders
* Act as the operational safeguarding lead for services within the portfolio and work with the Director to ensure the safety of staff and beneficiaries
* Support frontline staff and volunteers in dealing with complicated or sensitive enquiries
* Ensure services remains GDPR compliant, including managing subject access requests.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

* Ability to inspire a team to strive to meet challenging goals
* A successful track record in developing and delivering a range of projects demonstrating strong management skills
* Experience of providing operational direction to front line service
* Demonstrable experience of producing reports

Person Specification

• Excellent relationship building and application writing skills. Experience in Trust fundraising or an equivalent field is desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management

• Provide tailored, high-quality stewardship to a range of large and medium-sized Trusts & Foundations.
• Identify and pursue new funding opportunities and build relationships with new Trusts and Foundations to further grow this income stream.
• Prioritise research to constantly develop future pipeline.
• Work with Head of Philanthropy and other senior stakeholders in engaging potential funders and managing strategic Trusts & Statutory partners.

Write applications and reports

• Develop compelling funding applications for Trusts and occasionally statutory funders, articulating Resurgo's vision and strategy to persuasively engage new donors with a focus on raising five and six-figure grants.
• Stay ahead of sector trends, media, and political context to market Resurgo's interventions in a compelling way.
• Develop general communications on the work of Resurgo to inspire and update our Trust audience.
• Produce reports and updates on the impact of our work for funders in a timely manner. 

Data Management and Monitoring

• Update our internal database (Salesforce) with all donor interactions, donations and other details ina timely and efficient manner and with strong attention to detail, and analyse data to give insights' and drive future activity.
• Manage the Trusts & Foundations and Statutory pipelines and report on income and other KPIs, and ensure Trusts & Foundations team meets monthly targets and deadlines.

Line Management

• Actively manage and develop the Trusts & Foundations Executive to help them grow personally and in their role.

As an Evidence Officer, you will work on a range of behaviour change and infrastructure projects, providing monitoring, evaluation, and analytical support. The Strategy, Impact and Evidence teamplays an important part in supporting our vision by providing robust evidence on sustainable and active travel that ultimately influences and shapes policy, practice and behaviour across the UK.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

Our family women refuge's offer holistic support in order to empower women and their children who have experienced trauma to lead their recovery and gain the skills and confidence to move on safely. The Team Manager is responsible for the operational running and strategic direction of the refuge. Providing line management and leadership to the staff team, leading on contract and compliance and the safety, security and maintenance of the refuge, ensuring that the building aligns with our PIPE (Psychologically Informed Physical Environment) building standards and rental income is secured. 

The Team Manager plays a central role in ensuring the refuge is a safe, trauma-informed, and welcoming space for women and children fleeing domestic abuse. They promote an inclusive, anti-racist, and feminist approach while upholding Hestia's values of respect, dedication, and collaboration. Core responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day service delivery, ensuring compliance with safeguarding protocols, and facilitating the safe transition of service users. The manager ensures the team delivers high-quality, person-centred support, particularly for individuals with complex or intersectional needs.

In terms of operational and building management, the Team Manager is responsible for maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the refuge in line with health and safety and PIPE (Psychologically Informed Physical Environment) standards. This includes managing relationships with landlords and housing teams, authorising repairs, handling rent collection and arrears, and addressing any security concerns. They also oversee the accurate and timely turnaround of vacant units and uphold positive community relations to ensure the refuge remains a secure and respected environment.

The role also involves leading and developing a high-performing team, ensuring all staff are well-supported through supervision, reflective practice, and training opportunities. The manager upholds staffing levels, supports volunteers and students, and manages performance and conduct issues where necessary. Quality assurance and compliance duties include monitoring performance against KPIs, using systems like INFORM and Power BI, handling feedback and complaints, and ensuring financial accountability. They also represent Hestia in strategic planning, external networks, and multi-agency partnerships to strengthen service delivery and community integration.

Here's what the team will be looking for

The ideal candidate should possess a solid general education, ideally with Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English, along with strong written and verbal communication skills. They should either hold a SafeLives Service Manager qualification or be willing to work towards it. Experience in supervising staff and delivering high-quality support to individuals with diverse needs and risks is essential, as is a strong understanding of risk assessment and management in domestic abuse contexts. A good grasp of performance monitoring, welfare benefits, housing legislation—particularly the rights of domestic abuse survivors under the Domestic Abuse Act 2021—is also required.

Applicants should demonstrate a strong background in working within domestic abuse services, whether in the community or in a refuge setting. They must understand and value co-production, ensuring services are developed in partnership with those who use them. Effective communication skills are key, along with confidence in using IT systems such as Microsoft Office, Teams, and Power BI. A clear understanding of safeguarding practices and health and safety legislation is crucial, with the ability to implement relevant policies effectively.

The role demands emotional resilience and the ability to work under pressure, especially in crisis situations involving traumatised or vulnerable women and children. A strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practices is essential, as is the ability to work independently within established policies and procedures. Flexibility and the ability to travel within the borough and beyond when required are also necessary for this position.

Multi-award-winning Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal works in partnership with Aardman to support Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). We are seeking a talented individual to join our ambitious team to manage our flagship family accommodation service.

You will be responsible for the operational delivery of our family accommodation service, including the management of the housekeeping team, and you will ensure that all families receive a warm welcome, and experience first-rate accommodation during their stay.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong organisational skills are key attributes for this role. You will engage with hospital staff, and the families in their care, on a daily basis. The successful candidate will be expected to support the principles, values, and objectives of The Grand Appeal.

The role will involve close collaboration with wider Grand Appeal team members to engage and actively encourage families to support the charity.  The successful applicant will also play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality comms and marketing across all the sites on which accommodation is provided, by working closely with colleagues across the wider charity.

Key responsibilities:

· To lead and manage the daily operation of the Grand Appeal’s family accommodation service

· To provide a warm, supportive welcome to families staying in our accommodation

· To liaise with staff in hospital wards to allocate accommodation

Key tasks:

Providing a high-quality accommodation experience

· Deliver high-quality accommodation service on a daily basis

· Build and maintain relationships with key staff at each hospital to ensure open communication and alignment to deliver a compliant, safe and high-quality accommodation service

· Undertake daily liaison with key ward/hospital staff to agree allocation of available accommodation

· Work closely with the hospital staff to manage any concerns arising

· Ensure accommodation is allocated in line with the Grand Appeal strategy, policies and procedures

· Provide a warm welcome and induction for guests on arrival and provide ongoing support during their stay

· Regularly review all guest materials to ensure impact and accuracy

· Develop strong relationships with guests during their stay and provide engaging information about the charity and encourage future fundraising and support

· Design and deliver a programme of regular touchpoints with guests, for example weekly coffee mornings

· Ensure guest data is accurately recorded and processed in line with GDPR requirements

· Develop and deliver a process for getting feedback on the accommodation service

 Operational management

· Work closely to support the wider Operations and Services Team

· Manage the daily allocation of work for housekeeping staff and regularly check standards

· Maintain good stock levels for cleaning materials, bedding, appliances etc., to ensure the smooth running of the accommodation

· Manage the annual accommodation budget and ensure effective procurement practices are in place and implemented

· Manage, review and suggest improvements to the Grand Appeal’s standard operating procedures for family accommodation

· On an interim basis, work with the wider team to provide whatever support is required for the servicing, maintenance and testing requirements for the accommodation e.g. fire checks and alarm servicing

Income generation and team working

· Work collaboratively to ensure all touch points for income generation are presented

· Encourage donations and fundraising from guests and provide relevant information on ways they can support the charity

· Make introductions to the wider fundraising team

· Support Grand Appeal events including representing the charity at events as required

· Act as an advocate and spokesperson for the charity, to support media requests and donor visits

· Support the marketing and communications team to help identify suitable guests to be involved in future media requests and/or case studies

Other tasks

· Keep abreast of governance requirements pursuant to all charity activity, including but not limited to the Charities Act, Fundraising            Regulator, Institute of Fundraising Code of Practice, Gambling Commission and General Data Protection Regulation.

· Carry out other tasks and duties as required, to support colleagues across the organisation.

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Store Manager to join Barnardo's on a Full Time, Permanent Basis.

As a Store Manager you will manage the day to day running of our Kirkby Stephen Store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. By doing so you will play a crucial role in raising the funds for the amazing services and support Barnardo's provides for children, young people, parents, and carers across the UK.

Working Pattern: As the store is open 7 days a week, the successful post holder will be required to on a rota basis which will include weekend, evening, and bank holiday working.

Parking is available behind the shop and there is also a free car park nearby to the store.

Some but not all key responsibilities are:

• Ensuring stock is generated over the door by members of the public and donors sign up to the Gift Aid scheme.
• Ensure that the high standard of service to customers that is expected by Barnardo's is maintained at all times.
• Implement promotions in the Store as directed by Head Office or your Area Business Manager.
• Maintain a high standard of presentation, both in the windows and the interior of the Store.
• Ensure there is adequate stock available on the shop floor, at all times, on all key lines
• Provide training, development, work reviews and appraisals for paid staff to enable them to perform their jobs efficiently and effectively.
• Create an organised and pleasant working environment for staff and volunteers.
• Actively recruit the correct/specified number volunteers to deliver the stores objectives and KPI's.

As our Community and Events Officer, you will primarily focus on the expansion and development of our community and events programme.

GUCE Project Manager Role

Community Energy is gaining momentum nationally, where people are increasingly coming together to  take control of their own energy supplies.  Grand Union Community Energy (GUCE, pronounced “juice”) is looking to see local communities along the Grand Union canal in Hertfordshire enjoy a clean and resilient energy system that benefits all.  We develop, support and promote renewable energy and energy efficiency projects for communities from Watford to Tring, and build householder resilience by helping them reduce their bills and energy use.

We are seeking a Project Manager for two days a week, to help develop the opportunities that are forthcoming. Depending on the skills of the applicant the same individual could also cover aspects of other roles we are looking to fill.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a person with experience in project management to join our small but expanding team. The Project Manager for Community Energy will be responsible for converting opportunities for local renewable energy generation and energy efficiency projects into reality. They will take projects from concept, through funding and construction to management.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Deliver new potential projects, such as opportunities with Watford industrial units:

  • Work with technical specialists to assess the energy needs of the community, including energy demand, infrastructure, and renewable energy potential (solar, wind, biomass, etc.).

  • Identify and engage stakeholders (local authorities, local organisations, energy providers, and residents).

• For new and existing projects: 

  • Develop and monitor an overall plan to realise projects including timelines, budgets, resources and risk management strategies in conjunction with the Development Officer / Project teams.

  • Manage share offers.

  • Communication with potential local investors.

  • Manage paperwork.

  • Ensure the projects are realised rather than remaining just good ideas.

  • Work with others to manage cross-functional teams, including installers, contractors, and local community leaders.

  • Coordinate with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and partners to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

  • Foster a collaborative environment with all project team members.

  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring all costs are tracked, controlled, and aligned with available funding.

  • Work in partnership with the installer to oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for the project.

  • Track the progress of energy projects against objectives, milestones, and KPIs (key performance indicators).

  • Regularly report to stakeholders, funding agencies, and community members on project status and outcomes in collaboration with Project teams and Comms.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Terms and Conditions

Salary: Pro-rated salary for 2 days per week, £13,000 to £19,000 per annum (£34,000 to £47,000 full time equivalent) depending on experience plus 3% pension contribution.

Hours: 2 days per week (15 hours). The working hours can be flexible.

Location: Home-working, ideally within the GUCE catchment area from Watford to Tring.

You will need to travel to meet stakeholders, attend relevant meetings and visit potential sites. You may be called upon to work outside office hours.

Contractual arrangements: 12 months fixed term with the opportunity to extend, subject to 3 months’ probation.

There is a notice period of four weeks from both sides.

Holidays: The equivalent of 28 days per annum excluding Bank Holidays, pro-rata for the part-time nature of the post.

The Criminal Justice Services Manager will manage and develop all aspects of Birth Companions’ criminal justice-based services and line-manage the criminal justice services Coordinators, (currently three staff members but this likely to increase as we expand our services).

They will develop and maintain strategic partnerships with other relevant agencies and ensure the successful delivery of services through internal monitoring and evaluation, external evaluation and the charity’s governance structures.

The Criminal Justice Services Manager will be responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of new prison and wider criminal justice system-based services through stakeholder engagement and service design where opportunities are identified.

The Criminal Justice Services Manager will also contribute to the policy, engagement and strategic work of the organisation where appropriate.
