Founded in 1997, the Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants provides a place for refugees, migrants, and people seeking asylum to rebuild their life with support and community. From classes to casework to financial assistance, the Centre has a wide offering available for our community of over 200 people. Our approach is compassionate and human and the support we offer is long term - on average people stay with us around four years.

The current Board brings a wide range of charity and public body experience including strategy and fundraising and we are looking for skills to both enhance and complement these strengths.

The Centre has a dedicated and talented staff team led by our CEO, Andy Ruiz Palma, who joined in 2000 as an English teacher. In addition to this staff resource we have around 40 volunteers who provide direct support through activities. We also have in place accountancy support to the executive and a dedicated fundraising team.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a strong empathy with our client group and who understand how to work with organisations rooted in a local community. You will bring excellent people and communication skills and demonstrate good team-working.

We are open to applications from people looking for their first Trustee role or who may not have considered being a Trustee before and will provide mentoring to help trustees find their feet.

We are looking to recruit a deputy treasurer with:

A good understanding of financial management and reporting

A recognised accounting, finance or similar qualification

Ability to analyse and communicate financial information to the wider Board

Willingness to provide financial advice and support to the management team as needed

Knowledge and experience of fundraising finance practice in voluntary and community organisations (desirable)

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.

Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. What can you expect to be doing?

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following:

• face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with fundraising events, attending supermarket collections and monitoring collection boxes.
• online fundraising – assisting with online appeals, increasing social media engagement to maximise funds raised.
• bringing new ideas! We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life.
• engaging with your local branch and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team.

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. Trustees play a key role in providing strategic direction, oversight, and support to ensure that the PDA Society continues to grow sustainably and deliver real impact for the community we serve.

Following the retirement of two Trustees we’re keen to broaden the range of skills and experiences represented. Role Summary.

To bring our vision to life, we are looking for a dedicated person to play a vital role in managing and strengthening our relationships with partner organisations (such as university Islamic Societies), with a focus on marketing and growth. You will work closely with external partners to increase the number of students attending Roots workshops through creative and innovative methods.

Key tasks

• Marketing Support - Provide guidance and resources to partners for marketing Roots workshops effectively, including sharing marketing collateral and leading growth initiatives.

• Performance Monitoring - Monitor the marketing efforts of partner organisations, track key performance metrics, and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.

• Communication Liaison - Serve as the primary point of contact through social media between our organisation and partner organisations, facilitating clear and consistent communication channels.

• Training and Onboarding - Conduct training sessions and onboarding for new partner organisations to familiarise them with our brand guidelines, marketing strategies, and communication protocols.

• Collaboration - Coordinate cross-functional efforts with internal teams, such as marketing, design, and external partnerships, to ensure alignment with partnership goals.

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join us remotely as our Virtual Office & Admin Support Volunteer. You will be essential in setting up and maintaining the organisational systems that allow our youth workers to focus on igniting potential in Inner London.

In the vibrant, fast-paced heart of London, a generation of young people is brimming with potential, yet facing unique challenges. That's why we created Urban Youth.

We are a brand new, dynamic youth work charity dedicated to reaching the young people who need us most in Inner London's deprived areas. Our mission is to move beyond passive engagement and create active opportunities that inspire, connect, and empower.

Our Approach:

• Mobile Hubs: Deploying the Youth Bus and Pop-Up Hubs to meet young people where they are.

• Partnerships: Working within schools, colleges, and community organisations.

• Impact: Focusing on diversionary activities to teach Social and Life Skills, build Confidence, and foster Discovery and Connection in a non-judgmental environment.

Your Role: Virtual Office & Admin Support Volunteer

This critical, remote-based role will be instrumental in ensuring our organisation runs smoothly as we prepare for our 2026 launch. You will be responsible for a range of administrative tasks, creating the efficient systems that support our entire team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Document Management: Organising, formatting, and storing essential charity documents, policies, and procedural guides (e.g., creating templates, updating contact lists).

• System Setup: Assisting with the initial setup of digital organisational tools, databases, and filing structures (e.g., cloud storage organisation).

• Correspondence: Drafting, editing, and scheduling internal and external communications (e.g., thank you letters, internal updates, meeting minutes).

• General Support: Providing administrative assistance to the leadership team as required, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Skills We Need:

• Proven experience in Office Administration, Secretarial Support, or related roles.

• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) or Google Workspace.

• Strong written communication and proofreading abilities.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.

Commitment:

• Approximately 4 Hours Per Week (Very Flexible)

• Location: 100% Remote (UK-based)
