Role summary
Within Inter Mediate’s Projects Team, the Project Development Officer (PDO) will help develop and deliver projects contributing to IM’s overall goal of advancing peace negotiations and reducing conflict violence.
Working under the direction and guidance of Inter Mediate’s Projects Directors, in coordination with the Policy Director, Operations Team and CEO, the PDO will support the Project Team to:
- Support and implement Inter Mediate’s existing projects portfolio supporting peace talks and other high-level peace initiatives.
- Manage relationships with senior stakeholders in conflict and peace processes.
- Identify and develop new projects entry points.
- Monitor and analyse political developments across areas relevant to Inter Mediate’s work.
- Research lessons from past peace efforts relevant to Inter Mediate’s current work.
- Support the Operations Team and Project Directors to prepare project proposals and budgets, narrative and financial reporting, and collect evidence of project impact.
Specific responsibilities:
- Contribute to strategies to deliver Inter Mediate projects and institutional priorities.
- Support the Project Directors to cultivate and maintain relationships with key interlocutors and relevant experts in the field.
- Draft high quality policy memos, speeches and concept notes for senior audiences.
- Provide logistical support for project delivery, including managing travel and security of project consultants.
- Monitor media, think tanks and other analysis centres on conflict dynamics, and produce briefings and analytic papers for the CEO ahead of travel or engagement with key interlocutors.
- Oversee production of research papers on peacemaking lessons, based on demand from interlocutors.
- Scope for potential new projects and develop new project feasibility studies.
- Undertake travel, including to conflict settings.
- Support the Project Directors and Operations Team in donor management and project accountability, including contributing to preparation of project proposals and budgets, and reporting in line with donor requirements.
- Compile project progress reports for senior management/trustees’ meetings.
- Represent IM in external contexts where necessary.
- Undertake other tasks in support of IM’s work overall as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Successful candidates would need to demonstrate:
- A masters degree in politics, conflict resolution and peacebuilding, international affairs, public policy or an equivalent subject. Relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu.
- Three years of work experience in conflict resolution or peace process support for a governmental, non-governmental or inter-governmental organisation, or an equivalent field such as diplomacy, humanitarian access, political risk advisory services, conflict journalism or conflict analysis.
- Excellent written English, and evidence of ability to produce high-quality written work to deadline.
- A strong understanding of political and conflict dynamics and the ability to produce well-structured and concise analysis
- Ability to operate successfully in high pressure, sensitive political environments and support high-level individuals
- Evidence of strong cross-cultural interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to support the smooth running of a small team, and willingness to take an “all hands on deck” approach when required.
- Fluency in French, Russian or Mandarin a major advantage.

A normal working week is 40 hours. Offices are open between 8am and 6.30pm (core hours from 9.00am to 5.00pm). Hybrid working. The probation period is 6 months.

PURPOSE OF THE POST
To give infrastructure support to local voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups and social enterprises to enable them to develop and fundraise.
The service will work with local groups to assist them to support the communities they serve more effectively. This involves a number of one-to-one meetings with groups at EHCVS premises and outreach activity.
On occasion the meetings can be set remotely on-line, emails and by telephone, dependent on the needs and practicalities.
To promote and support good safeguarding children practice amongst local community and voluntary sector groups.
To ensure a strong representation of the local community and voluntary sector and contribute to the work of the Ealing Safeguarding Children Board and the Ealing Children and Young People’s Board.
FUNDING MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Formulate a detailed work plan for the implementation and promotion of the development and funding advice service and oversee and manage the service within the set outputs, outcomes, and budget.
To assist VCS organisations with planning and implementing their monitoring, reviewing and evaluation; and support VCS organisations with measuring and communicating impact.
To provide practical information to local groups on appropriate funding streams and their criteria by reviewing their funding proposals and offering feedback.
To advise local VCS groups and social enterprises on a range of legal structures, policies, and charity registration issues; and assist in choosing the most appropriate structures and assist with their registration process.
To plan and ensure implementation of the Training Programmes and its delivery in co-operation with other EHCVS Staff. Where training is outsourced, commission appropriate trainers to deliver relevant training courses in accordance with the training needs identified.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Confidant and commercially aware operator who can spot opportunities and build relationship.
Must be willing to step in and support front line work.
Strong experience of relationship management. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with suppliers, including corporates and stakeholders.
Ability to research and identify new opportunities and experience of business development.
Ability to prioritise, multi-task and work to tight deadlines under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
Experience in strategic planning and delivery
At least three years’ experience in Trusts and Foundation fundraising
Proven ability in producing effective, cohesive, motivating, and inspiring proposals and funding reports.
Educated to degree level.

The postholder will participate in monthly supervision with their line manager as well as a weekly team meeting and organisation-wide staff meetings. An individual induction and training plan will be agreed on.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The postholder will be employed for 21 hours per week.
The postholder will be entitled to 25 days annual leave pro rata in addition to 8 bank holidays. A flexible hour’s scheme will operate (subject to the demands of the service) and the postholder will be expected to attend occasional evening and weekend meetings. Time off in lieu of additional hours will be offered for any additional hours worked.
The postholder will be employed on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The post is subject to a three-month probationary period. EHCVS offers staff access to a stakeholder pension scheme with up to 3% matching employer contribution following successful completion of the probationary period.

The role will work with country teams to design and mobilise funding in line with our strategy, and will lead on coordinating and writing high quality funding applications, maintain and build relationships with donors and capture and share learning on our core thematics to continuously improve the quality and impact of our programmes.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer with meticulous attention to detail, and have proven experience of success in designing and writing successful fundraising proposals. They will have strong research and analysis skills with the ability to form convincing arguments. Be comfortable under pressure, pragmatic and able to handle multiple priorities whilst working as part of an intercultural team.
On a day to day basis you'll be working as part of the Programme Development Group with the Cord country teams and partners writing fundraising proposals, supporting with communications to donors and working to share learning internally across the organisation.

About the role
We are looking for a motivated, driven Development Practitioner (Harmful Sexual Behaviour) to deliver outreach support to boys and young men across Barking and Dagenham. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to play an integral role in improving the lives of young Londoners, their families, peers, and communities.
Core responsibilities of the role are, but not limited to:
• Delivering effective and appropriate harmful sexual behaviour services to boys and young men in line with the Safer London model of work ensuring that young Londoners receive the required support to meet their individual assessed needs by completing AIM3 Informed Assessments.
• Undertake high quality case recording in line with the highest standards and best practice principles.
• Working with professionals in partner agencies to facilitate the successful introduction and embedding of the Safer London harmful sexual behaviour model of work into their organisations; to enable increased access to support for more boys and young men than we could reach alone.
• Train and upskill practitioners within the local authority to support boys and young men displaying harmful sexual behaviour.
• Make appropriate onward referrals, signposting children, and young people to support services and positive activities.
• Leading on the dissemination of learning by engaging with the evaluation process, supporting the delivery of learning events and reflection spaces and providing peer support to partner colleagues. Contributing to the reporting around the service both internally and externally, this may include undertaking on occasions presentations and leading learning events.
• Work creatively with colleagues to generate project resources and materials as required.
• Act at all times in line with safeguarding legislation and guidance, as well as Safer London’s processes and wider pan London processes and protocols.
• Undertake any other duties as required and commensurate with the level of this post.

You will be responsible for designing and delivering a portfolio of outstanding fundraising cultivation and stewardship events. These events will facilitate and foster long-term, strategic, and meaningful relationships between Imperial College London and its prospects, donors, senior volunteers, and other key stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
The post holder will understand the overall strategic objectives of the Advancement Division and manage a portfolio of events that may include:
- Cultivation events for major and principal prospects, including Presidential lunches, dinners and salon events, and appropriate events during the President’s overseas visits
- Annual stewardship and cultivation events for legacy prospects, enquirers, and pledgers
- Bespoke recognition events for major and principal gift donors, for example presentation and gift signing ceremonies
- Stewardship events for Imperial’s donor recognition circles.
As the College plans and launches new fundraising initiatives, this role will also work closely with the Development Events Manager on devising the strategy for campaign events to maximise philanthropic engagement.
Essential requirements
You will have a proven track record in designing and delivering outstanding events and evaluating their success. Also essential is the ability to work closely with senior stakeholders and relationship building skills. You will be adept at cross-team working and have a solution focused approach. You will be motivated by developing new ideas and introducing innovation in special event planning and delivery.
