Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Centre Manager to join our team and manage this important community resource. Our No Cold Child initiative, launched with FatFace, stepped in to address a stark statistic: over 150,000 children in the UK do not own a winter coat due to poverty. Through our trusted relationships with schools, we distributed 10,000 warm, high-quality coats worth £600,000 to the children who needed them most. Shortlisted for two Business Charity Awards, the campaign has been praised not just for providing warmth, but for restoring dignity, inclusion, and school readiness to thousands of children.

Our collaboration with Asda on Cashpot for Schools is another example of unlocking support at scale. This innovative community-led funding model allows shoppers to nominate and fund their local schools simply through everyday spending. In just the last year, this campaign has generated £5.78 million for schools—supporting everything from basic classroom supplies to vital extracurricular programmes and pupil wellbeing initiatives. Also shortlisted for a Business Charity Award, it is already a model for community-driven philanthropy.

Meanwhile, our All Dressed Up campaign—developed with World Book Day and Rubies Masquerade—confronted the often-overlooked issue of financial exclusion on key celebration days. More than 100,000 free dressing up costumes worth £1.34 million were delivered to children from low-income families. By enabling participation in events like World Book Day, we helped spark imagination, joy, and belonging for children who might otherwise feel left out—boosting self-esteem and supporting a positive connection to learning.

Alongside these national campaigns, Parentkind supports families year-round through a growing suite of programmes designed to inform, prepare and empower parents. Our Be School Ready programme offers crucial guidance and confidence to parents preparing their children for the leap into primary education. With a mix of practical advice, developmental tips, and reassurance, through the distribution of 135,000 copies of Be School Ready and an online campaign, it supports families at one of the most formative moments in their child’s life.

We also deliver a wide-ranging series of live expert webinars and parent-friendly resources, covering topics such as managing anxiety, supporting special educational needs, navigating school transitions, and building home-school partnerships. These resources—developed in consultation with experts and rooted in lived parent experience—equip families to feel informed and empowered, no matter what challenges arise.

This month, we launched our Parent-Friendly Schools Accreditation Programme, designed to formally recognise schools that go above and beyond in fostering positive, inclusive relationships with parents. The accreditation celebrates schools that actively listen to parent voices, make engagement easy and accessible, and embed family partnership in their culture. It is a practical and inspiring tool to drive long-term change in the sector and offers a roadmap for schools wanting to strengthen their community.

Our work is grounded in evidence. Every year, we conduct the UK’s largest parental engagement study: the National Parent Survey. In 2024, over five thousand parents participated, providing invaluable insight into what families think about the education system. Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the HR Manager – a new post - will be the principal HR point of contact and lead on the full breadth of day-to-day HR matters. They will make a pivotal key contribution to our aim to be an employer of choice, and overall to be an inclusive and positive place to work. Key responsibilities include:

Employee relations – Ensure that all of our employment documents such as contracts, policies, procedures, staff briefings and our staff handbook are kept up to date, reflect best practice and UK employment law, and that they are being applied across the organisation. Providing as appropriate, related information and support to managers and employees.  

Line manager support – Develop, and maintain, a handbook for line managers, supplemented with periodic guidance; review and meet learning and development needs to ensure line managers are well-supported and able to perform their roles effectively.

HR systems and processes – Manage the collection and recording of relevant information across a breadth of employment matters including attendance, recruitment processes, equality and diversity, performance management etc. Undertake research and analysis and support the Director of Finance in the preparation of their reports on employment matters.

Recruitment – Develop and support Hand in Hand’s recruitment, executing onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring these align with our aims and maximise our potential to recruit and retain a great team.

Change management - Support the implementation of a digital HR platform as part of a wider organisational systems upgrade project, led by the Digital Systems Manager, together with any future change projects that will enhance our HR services and the support we are able to provide to our managers and employees.

Pay and benefits – Carry out periodic benchmarks and reviews of employee pay and benefits, focussing on the sector we operate in.

Staff surveys – Carry out our annual staff survey, together with any additional temperature checks as required, presenting the findings and recommendations to the senior management team. Manage the implementation of any agreed changes and improvements to our employment arrangements following the surveys.

Projects and general support – Undertake HR projects as required and provide HR support to employees and line managers in the event of any queries as they arise. Additionally, take a proactive approach in providing guidance and suggestions for improvements, simplification and change as and when appropriate.

Skills and knowledge

Charity People are excited to partner with a charitable organisation to find them a new Philanthropy Manager, this is a maternity cover role.

As Philanthropy Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Development team. You will actively manage a pool of individual donors to cultivate, steward and solicit donations for exhibitions, education, and programmes. You will have great administrative and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with high-net-worth people, and a sound understanding of fundraising and the sector. There is no line management responsibility for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Head of Philanthropy to implement and refine the organisation's major giving strategy, with a focus on securing mid-to-high level gifts.
• Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, ensuring personalised cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
• Develop compelling fundraising proposals, working closely with Programmes colleagues to gather project and financial information.
• Support the Head of Philanthropy in securing major gifts for key fundraising campaigns.
• Collaborate with teams to identify opportunities for project-specific donations from existing members.

• Previous experience of contributing to or participating in strategy development, devising and implementing plans for major gifts fundraising.
• Pro-active, resourceful and entrepreneurial approach to fundraising and ability to take initiative and work autonomously when required.
• A highly organised and flexible approach to work, able to plan and prioritise a varied and busy workload and deliver agreed outputs to tight deadlines.

The Health Collective is one of our central campaigns. It has emerged out of the urgent need to close the health gap for women from marginalised communities and is made up of and led by grassroots organisations, representing women’s voices from every marginalised community in our society.

The Health Collective Community Manager will be responsible for managing the development, expansion, and sustainability of the Health Collective.

This role will focus on managing and growing the existing community of members, organising and facilitating regular meetings, content creation for the Health Collective, coordinating the development of a unique identity for the group, and establishing an online community forum.

The role will also involve coordinating training sessions, events, and communication between the Collective and external stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of a growing community that empowers women and promotes health equality.

Community Engagement & Growth

Event Coordination

• Record and monitor the Collective’s activities (output) and their effectiveness (impact) through data collection, surveys, interviews and case studies.

• Report on project progress to National Lottery at least twice a year with information about the Collective’s outputs and impact along with an expenditure budget for the period
• Work with an external consultant to assess the Collective’s impact annually.

• Monitor news and political developments relevant to the Health Collective’s work.

Overall purpose of the role

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional communications to enhance Orbis UK's profile in both the UK and the Middle East. The position is responsible for implementing strategic plans for UK and Middle East audiences, while supporting the Media and PR Manager in boosting Orbis UK's brand presence. The role also includes leading reputation and crisis management responses and plans.

The Media and PR Manager reports directly to this position, and together, they will collaborate to deliver effective communications plans. There will also be opportunities to work with the wider Orbis UK communications team on cross-departmental campaigns, appeals, and events, including VIP visits and integrated marketing campaigns.

This role encompasses communications planning, media relations, stakeholder management, reputation management, copywriting, and at times, event coordination. It requires strong relationship-building skills and the ability to manage projects across different teams and countries. The role is responsible for three key areas of work:

i) Overseeing the delivery of the media and PR strategy to increase brand awareness of Orbis within the UK and the Middle East through pitching and placement of high-quality media coverage, proactive PR initiatives and reactive press office opportunities within a range of publications that align with our target audiences and partnerships. The Casework and Research Manager will lead Humanists International's efforts in supporting Humanists at Risk through strategic engagement, research, and the management of key publications, particularly the Freedom of Thought Report. This role involves coordinating all Humanists at Risk support in accordance with the organization's new two-tiered strategy (https://humanists.international/blog/a-necessary-evolution-in-our-support-for-humanists-at-risk/), direct liaison with stakeholders, contributing to organizational strategy, and line management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee the delivery of General Support to Humanists International's Members and Associates worldwide, including the provision of advice, guidance, and signposting to relevant resources.

• Coordinate the provision of direct, individualized casework support to leaders and officers of Humanists International's Member and Associate organizations who are facing significant risk due to their humanist activities or identity. This includes assessing needs, developing support plans, and ensuring timely and effective intervention.

• Develop and implement training programs for members and associates to enhance their capacity to support humanists at risk within their communities.

• Foster and strengthen partnerships with other human rights organizations to maximize the collective impact of our support efforts.

About the role

You’ll use your quality improvement expertise to support health & care professionals with projects and programmes, equipping them with the latest tools, resources, evidence and data to develop and improve services for people with Parkinson’s.

You’ll support the development of a vibrant national network, working in collaboration with the Professional Engagement team and the regional clinical leads. You’ll also work with health and care professionals and Parkinson’s UK colleagues to respond to any threats to Parkinson's services and effect positive change.

Working closely with colleagues across the Communities and Participation Team and the wider Communities and System Partnerships division, you will leverage existing lived experience networks and community relationships to drive change with and for people living with cancer through strategic programmes of work. About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Events and Stewardship Manager, to manage the planning, delivery  and evaluation of high impact  events and stewardship initiatives that engage and inspire prospects, donors and our partners: 

• Events: Taking a proactive approach to project management, this role will have responsibility for delivering a range of events across our global event portfolio. These events underpin Mission 44’s fundraising goals, especially for HNWI and corporate audiences. 

• Stewardship: As part of the fundraising team, the post-holder will deliver exceptional support and experiences for our current donors including production of impact-focused reports,  personalised communications and moments that build community for Mission 44’s growing donor base. 

It is expected the role will have a  60:40 split between events management and stewardship activities.  This role is ideal for a skilled planner, exceptional collaborator, and a strong writer, capable of supporting the delivery of exceptional donor experiences, stewardship communications, progress reports and materials that showcase Mission 44’s impact. It is worth noting whilst Mission 44’s events portfolio is global, this role will have minimal international travel. 

Key Responsibilities

Special Events Management 

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of global events within Mission 44’s portfolio, including donor and prospect dinners, trackside activations and flagship fundraising galas.

• Lead on core event logistics plans, including venue searches, supplier contracting, building of accurate run of shows and production schedules for multi-day events. 

• Produce quality briefing materials for event participants, staff, trustees, donors and impact partners. 

• Support the wider Fundraising team with securing sponsorship, ticket sales, and securing auction items. This includes production of targeted collateral for outreach. 

• Produce quality and timely evaluation for events activities that capture key learnings, recommendations and event ROI. 

• Work closely with the Fundraising Data and Operations Manager to ensure that events and stewardship data is updated in a accurately and timely manner to our CRM system (Virtuous). 

• Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure events materials are aligned with brand and messaging. 

Stewardship: Donor Communications and Reporting 

• Deliver exceptional donor experiences, including impact-focused reports,  personalised communications, and bespoke touch-points with impact partners and the Mission 44 team. 

• Oversee the preparation and submission of specific donor reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with donor guidelines and grant agreements. 

• Manage select bespoke stewardship projects which strengthen relationships with donors especially our corporate partners

• Work closely with our Impact and Finance teams to gather data, track progress, and strengthen internal reporting processes. 

• Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure that donor communications are consistent with our brand and messaging.

• Maintain accurate records of donor and partner interactions using our CRM system (Virtuous).
