Finance Assistant

Purpose of the role:

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support our Finance function in its day-to-day operations. This role is key to maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payment processing, and ensuring robust financial administration. You will work closely with the Head of Finance and play a critical role in supporting internal processes and contributing to the effective financial management of The Churchill Fellowship.

Key responsibilities:

Financial Processing and Bookkeeping

• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping duties and ensure timely and accurate data entry
• Process supplier invoices and Fellows' grant payments via the purchase ledger
• Prepare weekly payment runs and ensure payments are accurate, authorised and recorded
• Manage and reconcile credit card transactions and receipts
• Manage the Finance@ inbox, respond to queries, and escalate issues where appropriate
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all transactions, including bills, payments, and expenses

Bank and Account Reconciliations

• Reconcile all bank accounts on a monthly basis
• Reconcile credit card accounts monthly and ensure supporting documentation is complete
• Reconcile investment accounts and balances each month
• Support monthly income and expenditure reporting to assist internal financial monitoring

Registers and Schedules

• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register in Xero and ensure assets are correctly recorded
• Update and maintain the Prepayments schedule
• Maintain Gift Aid records and prepare reconciliations for claims

System Updates

• Update financial records in Salesforce, including recording of grant payment dates
• Support the audit process by preparing accurate financial records and providing documentation
• Code and enter all transactions promptly and accurately in the accounting system
• File and maintain financial documents (both digital and paper) in accordance with retention policies

General

• Due to the nature of the role, on occasion, you may be required to work some evenings and weekends in order to fulfil the obligations of your role.
• You may also be asked to carry out other reasonable duties in line with the scope of the role and needs of the organisation.

Person Specification

Qualification: 

• Degree level or equivalent transferable skills - Desirable
• AAT qualified or equivalent experience - Desirable

• The Senior Data Integrity Officer is a key role in our Data & Analytics team and is responsible for managing Cat Protection’s supporter centric Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) data loading system processes, ensuring timely processing, data governance compliance and following best practice.

Flexibility

Our London-based staff operate on a hybrid model, working in our office within London South Bank University (one minute from Elephant and Castle tube station) on Mondays and Tuesdays (for full time staff – part-time staff are only required to work one of those days in the office) and at home for the rest of the week. We also have staff outside London who are fully home-based. To deliver money and energy advice service for kidney patients struggling with their energy and water bills and other costs of living challenges. You will provide subject matter expert support within our Patient Support Services team, and will work closely with our Patient Support & Advocacy Officers to develop and grow this service in your area.

Summary
To raise awareness of the service and build strong relationships with kidney patients, professionals, and other kidney stakeholder groups in your defined geographic region.

Key responsibilities
• With support, establish the Kidney Care UK Money & Energy Advice Service in the region for patients and carers at risk of fuel poverty to access independent support on money and energy matters
• Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Money & Energy Advice Service across the region, effectively managing an ongoing caseload
• Provide practical advice to patients, assessing their needs and identifying sources of support to resolve financial, practical and psychosocial challenges.

About the role:

The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Drive Data Team Manager and Senior Managers within the Drive Partnership to ensure data and reporting remains rigorous and robust, and informs recommendations across the Drive Programme and partners. Your right to work in the UK 
You must have the right to work in the UK to work in paid employment with us. You’ll need to share documents showing you’re eligible to work in the UK if we offer you employment.

You can find the UK visas and permits granting you the right to work in the UK on the UK Government website. We currently don’t have a Sponsor Licence agreement with the Home Office and aren’t able to support you with your visa applications.
