What you’ll be doing
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to connect schools with powerful, practical research. You’ll take a leading role in shaping how NFER communicates with educators, using your creativity and insight to bring our work to life across digital channels.

One day you might be crafting social media content that sparks conversation among teachers, the next, you’ll be writing an email newsletter that lands just right with a headteacher seeking evidence-based ideas. You’ll help turn research into engaging, accessible summaries, so schools can quickly grasp key insights and put them into action.

You’ll also update and improve our For Schools website pages, ensuring every word is useful and user-friendly. Behind the scenes, you’ll track performance using analytics, learning what works and what could work even better. And throughout it all, you’ll collaborate with researchers, designers, and communications experts to deliver thoughtful, impactful campaigns that schools actually want to read.

Drawing on their experience and knowledge of EdTech, they will support EdTech companies and educators to build understanding about gathering and evaluating evidence for different EdTech products. They will develop guidance and materials to facilitate this, and work with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to develop resources, systems and processes that aim to promote and recognise ‘high-quality’ evidence around EdTech.

• Developing tools and resources to support individuals and organisations to engage with, and in, gathering and evaluating evidence around EdTech
• Developing guidance and training which helps EdTech companies plan and carry out evidence-gathering activities for their products and prepares them to submit evidence for formal review

We’re looking for a motivated and skilled Statutory and Trusts Funding Officer to join our collaborative and forward-thinking team. If you have experience securing income from statutory, trusts, or lottery funders and are looking for a meaningful role where you can make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.

 
In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and managing funding relationships with statutory and lottery bodies and charitable trusts. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation, from frontline service teams to senior leadership, to support the development of a strong funding pipeline that helps secure both in-year and multi-year grants.

To be successful, you’ll need to have experience in securing and managing funding from statutory or lottery sources, including multi-year grants. You should be confident in writing compelling proposals and clear, effective reports, with strong verbal and written communication skills. A keen eye for detail, the ability to manage competing priorities, and experience in monitoring and reporting on grants are also essential.

Immediate Opening: Leadership & Governance Administrator

Location: Remote (with very occasional travel).

Hours: 30 per week (including Fridays to meet charity needs, and ideally Wednesdays).

Salary: £24,000 per annum (pro-rata for 30 hours per week, based on full-time equivalent of £30,000).

• Executive & Administrative Support: Manage the CEO’s diary, organise travel, prepare agendas, take minutes, maintain records, and support recruitment processes.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Educated to Degree Level or equivalent appropriate work experience
• Evidence of a qualification in Fundraising or Marketing

Knowledge

Essential criteria

• Demonstrable experience of working in Volunteers & Community Fundraising including managing and delivering large projects and events from initiation to completion on own.
• Experience of carrying out risk assessments
• Experience in managing & working with individual volunteers and groups, securing their effort and commitment and maintaining a high level of customer care.
• Sound understanding of charity law, fundraising regulations and best practice relating to sponsorship, donated support, public collections, licensing etc
• Experience of working in a fundraising team and office environment and following procedures accurately without significant direction.

Desirable criteria

• Experience of working in the NHS
• Experience in developing and delivering marketing plans including charity media relations, social media and digital marketing.
• Experience of setting, managing and reporting on income and expenditure budgets.
• Knowledge & experience of Raisers Edge relationship management database.

Essential criteria

• Ability to use own initiative and to escalate issues in a timely manner where unable to resolve an issue personally.
• Flexible team player with the ability to prioritise and organise a changing workload and work systematically towards deadlines. High attention to detail and an ability to see a task through to fruition with minimal supervision.
