The Pepper Pot Centre is a vital, Caribbean & other BME community resource for the over 60s in Kensington & Chelsea and neighbouring Boroughs, seeking to combat discrimination, isolation, depression and loneliness and help our members to take charge of their lives and live in a healthy and independent manner.
Having formally opened our doors in 1981, we are a meeting place for older and retired members of the community and a day centre that provides a balanced Caribbean meal, recreational and cultural activities and lots more. In 1976 & 2006 was visited by the late Queen and by the Duchess of Cornwall in2020.
We are now seeking a part-time Events Coordinator to join our team for a one-year, fixed term contract, working 21 hours per week.
About the role
This is a phenomenal opportunity for a proactive and community-focused individual with a strong grasp of the needs of older people from Caribbean backgrounds and other BME communities to take an exciting step in their career with our organisation.
We are looking for a highly organised and creative Events Coordinator to join our growing team to plan, deliver and evaluate the effectiveness of events targeted specifically at our 60+ community e.g. trips/visits to parks, museums, Theatre, Seaside and more.
Our new Events Coordinator will support the planning and delivery of a key part of our work, namely: the management of our events programme designed to combat and prevent isolation, loneliness and depression amongst our elders. They will work closely with our sponsor, Global Radio – LBC, Capital Xtra, Heart, Smooth, Classic FM, talkSPORT and more.
Specifically, you will:
- Develop an Events programme, trips, visits, excursions designed to combat discrimination, isolation, depression and loneliness.
- Publicise our programme of events, and activities via digital media, leaflet distribution, open days, and word of mouth etc.
- Support and encourage our members to attend the Events programme of activities.
- Recruit train and organise team of volunteers to support and expand the Events programme.
- Plan, organise administer and accompany members on trips, visits and excursions within and outside the UK and you may be required to work outside normal office hours.
- Produce written reports for the management committee and our sponsor Global Radio.
- Evaluate the success of events through feedback mechanisms, attendance records, and make recommendations
- Adhere to PPC’s internal administrative protocols and procedures, including the Finance Procedures, Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Data Protection policies.

About you
Essential:
- Understanding the essential needs of older people from Caribbean backgrounds and other BME communities
- Previous experience of successfully coordinating events

This is a new role at Wen, with a focus on building Wen's in-house media relations and story gathering capacity while also getting involved in all areas of communications, particularly social media. To help you settle into the role and support your development you will receive mentoring from a PR consultant.
Part of your role will be visiting Wen's projects and events to gather content, impact stories and case studies for use in the media and on our social media channels. It will also include leading on social media day-to-day, including at Wen events, so you will need experience of running multiple social media channels efficiently.

Key information

Strategic Communication: You will work with the Head of Communications and Engagement to deliver Wen’s Communications Strategy.

Production

Location: Avonmore Library and Askew Library
Citizens Advice Hammersmith and Fulham (CAHF) is a busy, dynamic award-winning service. We deliver a variety of projects via face to face and digital media. Since 2012 we have delivered a volunteer led community library service at Avonmore library.
In April 2024 we embarked on running a second community focused library at Askew Road. To support CAHF community library delivery at both libraries, we introduced the role of Community Library Coordinator.

The YWF Youth Voice Coordinator Role

They are looking for an experienced fundraiser with a strong leadership track record, who can help them with their mission of alleviating poverty around the world.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development and delivery of a cost effective individual donor recruitment strategy

The Position
The Communications Officer, Global Corporate & Foundation Partnerships will focus on two key workstreams: 1) Implementing the communications and profile-raising strategy for the Development team’s $250M Climate: Possible global campaign and 2) Communications projects supporting European corporate and foundation partners. Working closely with the Communications Director, Global Corporate & Foundation Partnerships, and the Senior Director of Development in Europe, this position will coordinate across internal teams, including fundraising relationship managers and communications and marketing team members, and liaise directly with external partners.
Essential Responsibilities
CLIMATE: POSSIBLE COMMUNICATIONS & PROFILE-STRATEGY SUPPORT (60%)
●Support the execution of the Climate: Possible communications plan, including managing the creation of thought leadership deliverables, developing written and other creative content, and coordinating internal reviews.
●Create an editorial calendar, develop and track an ongoing stream of content for executive and agency social media channels that highlights Mercy Corps’ expertise in climate adaptation programming.
