Whilst those running suicide prevention programmes are a significant proportion of our membership, a growing number are those whose core business is not suicide prevention but who recognise the need to take action and are seeking support to do so.
There are more organisations than ever working to prevent suicide and it can be difficult to navigate the wealth of information available and connect with organisations that may be undertaking similar/ relevant work. Some may be unaware of or find it difficult to access evidence around what works, what is already happening and what can be built upon.
Why NSPA?
Make a real difference in the lives of those affected by suicide, all whilst working in a supportive and inclusive environment. As our NSPA Content & Engagement Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in leading our efforts to drive meaningful change to help prevent suicide.

• Manage the NSPA’s communications, working closely with the Membership & Communications Officers with strategic input from the Executive Lead.
Emotional Resilience
In this role you may be exposed to detailed information and personal stories of suicide, which may be upsetting. We will discuss this with you at interview stage however this role does require a good level of emotional resilience. Support is in place both from the organisation and within the team.
What’s in it for you – our benefits
So, you want to work for us? Good choice. We like it here too. We offer competitive salaries, flexible and hybrid working to suit your needs, family-friendly policies, 28 days annual leave inclusive of wellbeing days and a matched pension contribution up to 5%. You’ll have a structured induction and ongoing projects, secondments & learning opportunities. We also have colleague-led affinity groups made up of people with shared identities.
Your health and wellbeing is our priority. We have a staff community of Mental Health First Aiders, a Health Cash Plan and an Employee Assistance Programme. You’ll have free subscriptions to Headspace (your personal guide to mindfulness, sleep, focus, movement, and more) & Perkbox (an employee benefits platform with online exercise classes). That’s not all. We listen to your ideas and have staff forum and social committee networks.
Hybrid and flexible working
We are a flexible organisation, and we embrace hybrid working – a mix of connecting in person and remotely. We’re aware that the world is changing, and we all want and need different things from our work and home lives. So, if you need to walk the dog, go to the gym, or have commitments outside of work, we’re open to talking through flexible working options that work for you and us.
Being Inclusive
We recognise the enormous benefits and the social justice imperatives of ensuring diversity at every level of our organisation. Samaritans is wholly committed to inclusion and diversity and to building a culture and environment where everyone is appreciated for the unique person they are. About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Campaigns, and working closely with your fellow Campaigns Managers and the wider campaigns team and legal teams, we are looking for someone to design, develop and run impactful and engaging legal campaigns at Good Law Project.
This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with a passion for the work of Good Law Project who wants to use their campaigning background to help increase our impact, our income and our supporter growth and engagement throughout our legal campaigns. We have ambitious goals and are looking for somebody who brings determination, and the ability to design and deliver legal campaigns in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The role will require enthusiasm, flexibility and the ability to think creatively and strategically.
We recognise that experience and skills can be gained in a variety of ways including through your lived experience, personal life and interests as well as professional career experience. We welcome applications which meet the person specification through any of these - including from candidates who have experience campaign marketing or communications, and across private and not-for-profit sectors.
What we’re looking for
- Experience of managing campaigns and contributing to the development of campaign strategies.
- The ability to apply political knowledge to develop effective campaign approaches and tactics.
- Experience of developing and implementing digital campaign strategies that have helped secure change and/or raised income.
- Experience of evaluating campaign performance and impact.
- The ability to work positively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Proven ability to lead project teams.
What We Do
-
Good Law Project is a not-for-profit campaign organisation which uses the law to hold power to account, protect the environment and ensure no one is left behind.
-
We had a primary role in overturning the prorogation of Parliament in 2019. We successfully challenged the Government’s operation of a fast track ‘VIP lane’ for awarding lucrative PPE contracts to those with political connections and our campaigning played a key role in the Met Police opening an investigation into Boris Johnson over the Partygate scandal. In July 2023, we forced the Government to accept that its flagship Net Zero strategy is unlawful and to develop a better plan.
-
Our close-knit team of staff work across three core areas: campaigning, legal and operations. We are nimble and reactive to external events which means Good Law Project suits people who thrive in a fast-paced, at times quite pressured environment. You must share our passion for upholding democracy, protecting the environment and ensuring no one is left behind. Our culture is one of openness and innovation which encourages all staff to pitch ideas and influence the organisation’s direction. We are brave, honest and decisive – those are Good Law Project’s values. We recognise the value of our employees, individually and collectively, and are committed to investing in their welfare and development.
-
In August 2022 we established an independent SRA-regulated law firm in London, Good Law Practice, to support and develop our work.

Since its establishment in 2006, ROLDA has become a beacon of hope for the millions of vulnerable stray animals in Romania – one of Europe's economically poorest nations. Our mission is to manage the homeless animal population, estimated to be millions, through six key focuses: rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Our freelance School Engagement Officers introduce the highly impactful Breck’s story into schools and other youth and community spaces across the country and deliver inspiring, educational talks to students, parents and guardians, teachers, and other groups in a ‘whole community’ approach.
Breck Foundation is at the forefront of efforts to safeguard children and young people online. Our organisation was founded in 2014 in response to the tragic loss of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. Our work aims to prevent this from ever happening again. Our work saves lives. We reach thousands of children and young people in schools and other community settings with Breck's story every year. Our talks and educational materials fill a gap in the current UK curriculum that otherwise leaves children vulnerable to online grooming and exploitation. With 98% of young people now active internet users, current and future generations grow up having to navigate new and evolving digital dangers. We are committed to making the internet a place where children can live, play, and thrive in safety. We are helping young people reclaim the internet.
