The position

The Royal Geographical Society (with The Institute of British Geographers) is seeking an Administrative assistant within the Director’s Office. This is an exciting opportunity to work across core areas of the Society and support key projects. The successful candidate must have an interest in Geography and enthusiasm for the work of the Society. The ideal candidate will have worked in an administrative capacity and will be highly organised with strong time management skills. Duties and responsibilities

• Assisting in administration of events that bring senior media and cultural (museums; theatres) decision makers together with sustainability specialists through the course of the year
• Working with the Programmes team to deliver this a high profile new photography festival each July
• Backing the Explore team’s delivery of events and materials including the annual November expeditions and fieldwork festival and the development of the linked Handbook and wider events programme across the year.
• Supporting the Education team in running competitions and linked events
• Participating in membership renewal processing during the busiest period in January/February
• Contributing to the delivery of the Medals and Awards Ceremony and AGM and Reception

· Support the Legacy and In Memory Manager with developing the strategy and budget.

· Work collaboratively with the Digital Engagement and Mobilisation team to ensure that all agreed marketing activity is delivered as agreed on time and budget. To ensure that all legacy and in memory enquiries are responded to promptly and professionally.

· Work with the CRM and Supporter Care team to ensure that all Legacy and In Memory data on The Raiser’s Edge database is accurate, valuable and kept up to date.

Person Specification:

· Experience of managing successful programmes and campaigns to recruit and retain legacy and in memory supporters through a variety of channels

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated Project Coordinator to lead the delivery of an exciting new learning and development project for individual employers and personal assistants. The project will support people who employ PAs through direct payments and their PAs to develop the knowledge and skills they need through videos, peer-led training, discussion sessions, and case studies.

You will oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of the project, ensuring activities run smoothly, are well-attended, and meet the needs of learners. You’ll work closely with people with lived experience of employing PAs, guest speakers, partner organisations, and the wider Pathfinders team to deliver high-quality, accessible training and resources.

Role Summary

Development Group generates philanthropic and sponsorship income to help us create a Natural History Museum for the future – investing in capital development, attaining vital acquisitions for the collection, transforming our galleries, developing innovative exhibitions and undertaking ground-breaking scientific research on issues that affect us all.

Reporting into the Head of Resources & Planning, this role provides the opportunity to join a Development operations team in driving forward the exciting, ambitious and transformational NHM150 campaign.  You will have the opportunity to be innovative and proactive, as well as utilise your creativity, project management and organisational skills to oversee donor recognition and ensure we are providing a consistent and best in sector experience for our donors and partners.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Stewardship and supporter journey

• Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Head of Corporate Partnerships, lead the development of a structured, overarching stewardship programme that works across the Museum. Take a supporter journey approach and ensure the programme includes a creative and innovative range of benefits and recognition to foster well-managed, mutually beneficial and lasting relationships with funders.
• Coordinate stewardship efforts and work with colleagues to produce tailored stewardship plans.
• Provide strategic and day-to-day advice and guidance to staff on stewardship.

Funder recognition

• Work with the Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships departments to ensure a cohesive approach to the funder benefits matrix and recognition and acknowledgement.
• Advise and lead on funder inclusion with event and event material including, speeches, invites and associated thanking moments
• Lead on the creation and implementation of a funder recognition strategy for each major project and giving mechanism, ensuring consistency with the Museum’sdeli Naming and Recognition Policy and including, but not limited to, funder boards and naming opportunities.
• Lead for Development on work with the Design, Comms, Marketing and Digital team to develop agreed frameworks and ‘lock-ups’ for the NHM’s brand and visual identity. Create agreed procedures to ensure sign-off by all parties which is effective and well-communicated.

Communications and reporting

• Support colleagues in researching, writing and producing high-quality impact reports for funders in line with Deeds of Gift, contracts and other agreements.
• Support the creation of the Museum’s Annual Review, Annual Report and similar impact reporting; ensuring appropriate funder recognition.
• Manage the annual Season’s Greetings cards creation and distribution

Other responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse group of Museum stakeholders, to ensure stewardship plans and activities are successfully coordinated and delivered.
• Responsible for oversight of Supporter Cards for key Development supporters, working with the Database team to create and distribute.
• Develop a strong knowledge of sector best practice through networking, benchmarking against comparable institutions, identifying and undertaking training and development opportunities, and where appropriate implement these best practices at the Museum.
• Record essential information accurately and appropriately, using Development Group systems and the Raiser’s Edge database. This includes tracking agreed and live negotiations for funder recognition and commitments on major projects.

What we’re looking for

• Significant experience in a fundraising / funder management role, or similar project management experience
• A strong working knowledge of the role of stewardship in the not-for-profit or cultural sectors, with the ability to initiate and manage stewardship activities.

In the spring of 2025, the Vivensa Foundation launched its new strategic framework and identity.  Formerly known as the Dunhill Medical Trust, it was back in the 1980s that our founder's niece recognised that the shifting demographics would drive a need for investment in a high-quality research base to improve our understanding of the mechanisms of ageing and ageing-related disease, together with the delivery of innovation to improve health and social care services for older people.

We now have a full time, permanent vacancy for an aspiring grants management professional to help us to deliver our strategic plan. Role overview: 

A pivotal senior position within the Legacy and In Memory Fundraising team, this role works closely with the Head of Legacy and In Memory Fundraising to lead key fundraising initiatives and stewardship efforts. Responsibilities include overseeing recruitment, staff development, and performance management, as well as contributing to strategic planning and budget oversight. The role also leads the delivery of a multi-channel legacy marketing programme and ensures external suppliers meet agreed service levels. The role will line manage two team members, take on broader leadership responsibilities within the department, and actively promote legacy giving across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Head of Legacy and In Memory Fundraising to shape and implement the overarching strategy and budget, with a key focus on expanding the supporter pipeline, increasing In Memory donations, and safeguarding long-term Legacy income.
• Offer expert advice and strategic input to design integrated, personalised supporter journeys that prioritise exceptional supporter experiences, drawing on industry best practices and working closely with internal teams and external agency partners.
• Lead the planning and delivery of multi-channel Legacy and In Memory fundraising campaigns—across acquisition and stewardship—including DRTV, press, print, and digital; monitor performance and report progress against defined KPIs and milestones.

• Deep expertise in all areas of Legacy and In-Memory fundraising, underpinned by strong knowledge and hands-on experience within the sector 
• Extensive track record of successfully managing multiple campaigns across various channels—meeting and exceeding revenue targets, crafting compelling copy, overseeing third-party suppliers, and using data insights effectively, all while ensuring full regulatory and compliance adherence
• Demonstrated success in strategic planning, execution, and management of fundraising strategies 
• Proven excellence as a highly organised and effective project manager, capable of leading multiple complex projects simultaneously while prioritising workload efficiently 
• Strong financial management capabilities, including experience in budget management, creating spending plans, and delivering accurate financial reporting 
• Outstanding leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams, as well as effectively managing external partners such as media and digital agencies, and internal service teams

As a Portfolio Officer you will:

• Work closely with grant seekers to support them through our funding processes, assess their applications and write and present high quality assessment recommendations to our decision-making Panels.
• Manage grants using best practice, thematic expertise, and the experience of customers and stakeholders to improve our grant making and inform our decision making.
• Manage your own caseload, liaise with grant recipients, undertake project visits, identify, and manage risk and support organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact.
• Ensure our grant management and assessment play an effective part in contributing to the Fund’s knowledge and learning as a grant maker.
• Use your critical thinking skills, curiosity, interest and understanding of our community-led mission areas to support and inform your approach to assessment and grant management.
• Be responsible for supporting people and communities across the UK, you will have a strong understanding of our vision, our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and our funding products.
• Work with stakeholders at different levels, represent the Fund at events, project visits and share learning from conversations, events, grant holder reports with the wider team so that we can maximise our impact.

The role requires occasional (once a month) travel across the UK to observe and critically analyse the work of applicants and grant holders.

The Supporter Services Team Leader will be responsible for promoting and delivering excellent supporter care to existing, potential and previous supporters of Battersea, developing relationships and maximising income for Battersea.
They will be a point of escalation for the supporter services team and will support and develop a team of volunteers. The role will lead on key fundraising products, proactively sharing information with stakeholders.

Objectives

• Provide first line of support to Supporter Services Administrators to ensure donations are processed promptly and efficiently and update the Income Generation database with accurate donation and supporter information
• Prepare and share weekly rota's allocating tasks per day for Supporter Services Administrators
• Ensure that volunteers, who assist the team to handle supporter enquiries, are appropriately recruited, trained and supported
• Decide the workload of the volunteers to get the maximum mutual benefit
• Take the lead on key products working with product owners to ensure the best supporter care
• Review and improve the volunteer team’s outputs for quality and accuracy, suggesting and implementing improvements as necessary
• Act within all relevant legislation and sector best practice, including PCI DSS compliance, the Data Protection Act, Gift Aid rules and regulations and the Institute of Fundraising and Fundraising Regulator codes of conduct
