Our fundraising team is made up of passionate people dedicated to making BCUK’s mission a reality, so we can prevent even more people from getting Breast Cancer. Fundraising income has grown significantly over the last few years thanks to a talented staff team, and we have an ambitious strategy to grow this income even further.  

Working with agencies, including a digital mobilisation agency, The Senior Individual Giving Officer will be responsible for leading growing our individual donor and supporter base and delivering an excellent supporter experience.   

You’ll need to be a digital native with experience in building digital-focused approached to supporter acquisition and development.

Role Overview: 

The Head of Marketing & Sales plays a pivotal role in driving the organisation’s growth. You will develop and execute multi-channel strategies delivered across the funnel from enhancing brand visibility and generating leads, nurturing leads to conversion, right the way through to supporting customer retention and advocacy. You will report directly to the Chief Revenue Generation Officer who leads the revenue team, comprising of digital marketing and content specialists as well as membership support staff.

• Membership engagement and growth: Developing and executing strategic marketing and sales strategies to drive member engagement, growth and retention with our flagship membership and subscription services.  
• Brand positioning and visibility: Ensuring we have a powerful brand that punches above its weight to increase market share, drive competitive advantage and to position the organisation as a thought leader within the sector.
• Marketing analysis and segmentation: Conducting market analysis/research within existing and untapped markets to uncover insights to segment audiences and tailor marketing messaging and activities effectively to drive conversions. 
• Digital marketing: Overseeing digital marketing strategies, including website optimisation, email marketing, search marketing and social media marketing to drive traffic and conversion across the funnel stages.   
• Content and creativity: Oversea content strategy and creation across various formats and channels, ensuring innovation and creativity to stand out in a crowded market. 
• Data-driven decision making: Using analytics to test strategies, measure results and generate insights in order to iterate and improve performance, tracking key metrics and leading the team to deliver and report against agreed KPIs.  
• Budgeting and resource management: Tracking spend, ensuring cost effective allocation of resources and reporting on RoI.  
• Leadership and collaboration: Leading and mentoring the team to perform against growth and revenue targets as well as collaborating with other departments to ensure a unified approach.  

Essential experience and skills 

• Extensive experience in a similarly commercial marketing and sales role with a proven track record in driving revenue growth.

What you will be doing as the Director of Service Transformation:

• Lead and execute services strategies and plans that extend and transform the impact and financial sustainability of the charity’s services and support for disabled children, young people and their families. 
• Lead the design, development and sales of innovative new service models and the scaling of existing services.
• Work closely with the other executive directors and leadership team to achieve the generation of an annual financial surplus to reinvest in Kids. 
• Ensure the quality and safe delivery of all Kids’ services. 
• Ensure effective budget management underpins service development and delivery.  Ensure contracts and tenders are commercially negotiated and regularly monitored. Work with colleagues to identify and achieve necessary margins on contracts and projects for financial sustainability. 
• Inspire and lead a high performing services team; support colleagues to test, learn and adapt as the charity evolves and transforms its digital and in-person support offer.
• Be an inspiring, visible and collegiate leader and team player who works across team boundaries to help drive organisational change and nurture colleagues’ ability to perform at their best.

We exist to fund research into beating blood cancer. In the past 60 years, we’ve invested more than £500 million into blood cancer research which has led to improved treatments and saved lives. Everything we do in the next five years will be based on a single aim – to stop people dying of blood cancer or the side effects of its treatments. As Research Involvement Lead, you’ll be responsible for leading a programme of patient and public involvement in research, a core component of our charity wide involvement strategy. 

This role will ensure that our research strategy and funding programme is shaped by the priorities and needs of people affected by blood cancer. As the motion design producer at Breast Cancer Now, you’ll play a key role in helping bring our work to life.

You’ll be creating high quality, engaging content about our life-changing research, campaigning, fundraising, services and health information. And you’ll be part of the multimedia team, where we produce video, photography, motion design and audio that help strengthen our brand and tell our story.

Reporting to the senior multimedia manager, you’ll be producing motion design projects that cover all aspects of the organisation. This includes producing multiple small and large-scale motion projects throughout the year to support major campaigns and projects. Experience of producing long and short-form content with an eye towards social trends is also desirable.

The role may require some work on larger video and photography projects throughout the year to support the wider team, so any skills in video production, video editing or photography would be an advantage.

About you

You’ll have a keen interest in all things motion design and have a good portfolio of work to show this. You’ll be hard-working and highly motivated, with a flexible approach to your work. And you’ll be used to working in a busy team environment and able to work on your own initiative.

Strong communication skills are essential as you’ll be working with teams across the charity, supporters and people affected by breast cancer. 

You must have considerable experience using adobe creative suite, particularly after effects, illustrator, photoshop and premiere. Any knowledge of blender or other 3D software would also be welcome.

About the role: 

You’ll provide high quality admin support to the East of England team, coordinate, plan and prep key meetings, and provide first point contact for both internal and external stakeholders, including working co-productively with people living with Parkinson’s.

As members of the Community Directorate we aim to reach out to and support people with Parkinson’s, their families, friends and carers.  We enable the voice of people affected by Parkinson’s to be heard to improve services, inform our priorities and improve decision making locally.

Through community development we work in close collaboration with our respective Parkinson’s communities to bring change on the issues that matter most to people affected by Parkinson’s.

What you’ll do:

• Organise online and in-person, internal and external meetings and other events, including booking venues and refreshments, assisting with the production of materials, liaising with participants and speakers, fulfilling mailings and taking bookings as required.
• Keep up to date with the directorate’s activities in order to provide clear, accurate information, and support the process of business performance and impact reporting. 
• Respond to general enquiries in a timely and friendly  fashion, ensuring needs are met, and participate in working groups, meetings, local events or activities as required.
• Maintain digital records on the charity’s data platforms.

What you’ll bring:

• Excellent administration skills, including note-taking, presentation preparation and a positive, assertive and resilient approach to prioritising and juggling varying pressures and conflicting priorities.

Job Purpose

The post holder will work cross-functionally to provide front-line administrative and transactional systems support to the People team and the Finance team. Within the HR/People elements of the role, the focus will be on day-to-day systems and process queries, recruitment, HR system support to Ada’s staff, compliance and general HR administration. This will require the post holder to have strong communication skills, strong attention to detail, and have the ability to manage and prioritise their workload.

Role Responsibilities:

Finance Support: 60%

Support the Assistant Finance Manager in updating the Purchase Ledger:

• Ensure that purchase requisitions are received and processed on the accounting system in a timely manner,
• Ensure that all expenditure is recorded against the relevant nominal code and cost account, and that the correct VAT code is used,
• Ensure all suppliers’ invoices are attached to purchase requisitions on ApprovalMax
• Prepare mid and end of the month BACS payment run and ensure that suppliers are paid within payment terms,
• Receive and check all statements from suppliers,
• Investigate and action any issues that arise with regards to creditors,
• Regular review and maintenance of the outstanding purchase order and goods received notes report,

Support the Assistant Finance Manager in updating the Sales ledger:

• Ensure that all income is recorded against the relevant nominal code and cost account and that the correct VAT code is used,
• Ensure that all requests for sales invoices are processed and sent to debtors promptly,
• Ensure that all requests for sales invoices are monitored and chased so that the prompt payment is received

Petty Cash:

• Ensure that the disbursement of the funds, keeping records of those disbursements and requesting replenishment of the fund is done accordingly to the Petty Cash Policy;
• Ensure that the reconciliation of the business petty cash transactions is done on the bi-weekly basis in the Xero finance system.

Other finance duties:

• Support Assistant Finance Manager in preparation of the pay runs;
• Monitoring finance account inbox and dealing with staff, students and supplier queries to ensure they are quickly and properly resolved;
• Support staff in following the financial policies and procedures, such as: filling out charge card tracker, purchase orders, setting up new supplier;
• Support the Finance team in setting up a Fixed Asset Register and making sure it is kept up to date on a regular basis;
• Support the Finance Team with any other queries that may arise.

HR Support:

Recruitment

• To work with the HR Manager to draft adverts for posts being advertised, ensuring that they are well-written and engaging.
• To obtain quotes for advertising on various job boards and recruitment media channels in a timely and accurate fashion ensuring the best possible exposure for vacancies
• To coordinate interview/selection logistics including room bookings, diary management, scheduling and preparation of relevant materials and sending invites to candidates
• To support the HR Manager with the administration processes around onboarding and offboarding of staff including consultants, mentors, volunteers and governors.

Inbox Management & Staff queries

• To manage the recruitment inbox, responding to candidate and hiring manager queries in a timely manner
• To work with the HR Manager to manage the HR inbox, responding to staff enquiries in a timely manner recognising that some correspondence will be highly confidential and/or sensitive in nature.

Systems & Compliance

• To be the main point of contact for all HR system queries and to action all first-level system transactions, escalating more complex transactions to the Head of People & Talent or the HR Manager.
• To send out reference requests for all shortlisted candidates, chasing responses and passing on to the relevant line manager
• To maintain spreadsheets and trackers to ensure all relevant HR information is collected and collated (eg vacancies, DBS and other pre-employment checks, probationary periods, performance management, exit interviews.)
• To create and maintain electronic copies of  personnel files
• To support with the updating of the Single Central Record for all staff, volunteers, consultants, agency workers and governors
• Under the direction of the Head of People, issue relevant letters to staff in relation to Employee Relations (ER) matters ensuring that timelines are strictly followed, meetings arranged, notes/minutes taken and all paperwork, including checklists, is fully completed.
• To support the People team with all HR policies, processes and projects as required.

General Administration

• To provide accurate data for Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) in monthly data returns,
• Liaising with CIVICA support team to seek advice on better use of MIS (REMS),
• Acquire data from primary and secondary sources and update database system REMS,
• Keeping up to date with the latest ESFA funding rules and regulations.

Additional duties:

• Undertake confidential shredding and filling,
• Coordination Support for the Finance or People/HR elements of staff on-site events

Content development:

• Work with the Information and Content Manager to research, write, edit and produce new information materials including print publications, web pages, videos, etc.
