It is an exciting time for the Cathedral as our retail and hospitality outlets are redeveloped. Based within the Communications and IT Team within the Chief Operating Officer’s Department you will support the sharing of the good news of the archdiocese both internally and externally within our parishes, with clergy, schools, officers and stakeholders. As a team we are focussed on growing and developing our existing platforms including our websites and social media channels, as well as supporting the Archbishop, our parishes, clergy and other departments with communication and marketing needs. This role will also lead on supporting the archdiocese in telling the story of the Cathedral, past, present and future and helping build the vision of the new Visitor Centre. We are seeking an experienced professional who can help us translate our vision and engage with our communities and visitors to our city. The successful post-holder will work between St Margaret Clitherow Centre and the Cathedral (2 days per week), with travel across the Archdiocese as required. Internal Communications Officer
Hybrid Working: Connexional Team staff based at Methodist Church House have a hybrid work pattern which is currently 2 days in the office, and 3 days remote.
About the Role
We are looking to appoint an Internal Communications Officer who will play a critical role in developing and shaping the organisation’s internal communications for the staff of the Connexional Team.
The post holder will work closely with Senior Managers to ensure that the Team’s values, mission and updates are effectively communicated to all Team members working across several sites and from home, to foster a cohesive and motivated work environment.

In this crucial role, the Internal Communications Officer will be responsible for establishing and managing channels for staff feedback to leadership, producing engaging content for various channels, and organising and delivering internal events.
The successful applicant will also provide support and training for staff on communication tools and practices, encourage staff to be ambassadors of the Church, and plan and approve regular communications to be sent out to employees including staff newsletters and newsletters from Team members.
About You
The post holder will have at least three years’ experience of working with an internal communications context within an organisation and will have the ability to develop and implement comprehensive internal communications strategies that align with the organisation’s values.
You will be able to articulate messages clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, that are tailored to various internal audiences. Exceptional writing, editing and proof-reading skills for a range of communication channels are a must for this role.
You will also have strong organisational skills with the ability to lead projects, work collaboratively and be proficient in digital communication tools and platforms.
The successful applicant will have strong interpersonal and listening skills with experience in building relationships with key internal stakeholders.
You will also have the ability to develop a deep understanding of the Methodist Church’s mission, values, and objectives to ensure alignment in all communications.

The Role:
The successful Training lead will head our “Rise for Change” domestic abuse training programme and have the exciting opportunity to continue to grow the programme’s success to date. Rise for Change is a trauma informed domestic abuse training programme for non-specialist professionals. Uniquely created by our subject matter experts, our training directly addresses the need for intersectional and trauma informed domestic abuse training for professionals in all sectors. Our aim is to empower participants, no matter their professional role, to be able to respond safely and appropriately to domestic abuse both within the workplace and in the wider scope of their lives.
The role will be responsible for the delivery and upkeep of our current training packages, development of further training and the management of current/ new stakeholder relationships. This role will also serve as a subject matter expert on domestic abuse across our global digital programmes.

- Upkeep current training packages and development key content as required.
- Complete needs analysis of the sector and ensure our packages remain in line with need and best practice.

Key tasks:
- Develop and deliver a new RSPB Nature Prescriptions project to people living in diverse communities within the West Midlands
- Deliver presentations to a wide range of potential stakeholders with the aim of obtaining engagement with the project
- Engage with local healthcare professionals and community groups to identify ways of ensuring Nature Prescriptions reach a large diversity of people
- Co-design Nature Prescriptions materials with local people, community groups and healthcare professionals
- Facilitate nature connection workshops to improve the knowledge, skills and confidence of people who will be delivering Nature Prescriptions
- Develop a project plan for the delivery of Nature Prescriptions and follow project management principles to ensure a successful delivery of agreed outcomes
- Tap into local environmental networks to build a picture of nature based activities available and identify opportunities for partnership working
- Explore and contribute to the evaluation of the project, including data gathering and collecting case studies from project partners
- Represent the RSPB on relevant local health and wellbeing networks
- Build internal relationships with RSPB employees and volunteers working within the West Midlands and beyond
- Further develop our Nature and Wellbeing Sharepoint site to provide people across the RSPB access to our latest materials
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Skilled in delivering nature connection workshops or training

About you
You will:
- Have an in-depth knowledge of cerebral palsy, its causes, health implications, therapies, and available support due to a personal lived experience.
- Have experience and up to date knowledge of current issues that affect disabled people and those around them, specifically people with cerebral palsy.
- Have at least two years’ experience working in a customer focused environment.
- Have excellent communication skills with an understanding of different needs and being able to respond to these accordingly.
- Have a strong ability to convey complex information in an accessible way and engage diverse audiences.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding.
