Key Responsibilities
- Act as lead for our website, social media channels and any future digital products for the Foundation brand, overseeing the day to day management of these channels and ensuring a pipeline of engaging content that supports communications objectives.
- Take a UX approach to content planning and channel management. Design, test and optimise targeted user journeys across all our channels.

About CoppaFeel!
CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.
We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.
Breast cancer does not need to be detected late, and as long as we are here and continue to be supported by people like you, we will do all we can to make sure this doesn’t continue to happen.
The Role
Following a recent departmental restructure, we’re entering an exciting period for the newly formed content team. This shift in the team structure highlights our commitment to making best in sector content - all in the name of our mission; to ensure all breast cancers are diagnosed early and accurately in young people.
We are looking for an exceptional Head of Content who will be responsible for delivering our holistic content strategy over the next year. You’ll oversee the management, production and strategic placement of all organic content across CoppaFeel!’s channels, and in house paid campaign activations. You will help shape CoppaFeel!’s approach to content so that it appeals, resonates with and converts our key audience of 18 - 24 year olds, as well as our supplementary audiences, across website, email and social channels.
You will work closely with the Head of Marketing and alongside other Heads of Dept, bringing your expertise and knowledge to leadership discussions to help shape the future of the organisation. You will report to the Marketing Director and line manage the Social Media Manager and Digital Marketing Manager, and you will have exposure to the Senior Management Team.
This is a fixed term contract for 13 months.
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office 2 days per week. You will be required to attend the office for quarterly team meetings, department meetings and in person training, we will provide plenty of notice for when you are required to be in for these purposes.

Reporting to the Senior Public Involvement and Engagement Manager and matrix managed within the Big Data for Complex Disease team, this is a pivotal role that will maintain and build upon an established strategy and programme of activities embedding the patient and public voice at all stages of work with the Driver Programme.
Your work will also support best practice delivered as part of the Public Engagement in Data Research Initiative (PEDRI), a vital UK-wide multi-stakeholder initiative that aims to facilitate a sector wide shift focused on establishing and advancing good practices for public involvement and engagement (PIE) with data-driven research and statistics.
You will work closely with public members, research and NHS communities, internal colleagues, charity partners, and funders to develop and implement plans for patient and public involvement and engagement.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a passion for meaningful involvement and engagement of patients and the public in research, to shape and influence our work on the safe, ethical and scientifically robust use of data for research into the causes, prevention and treatment of disease.
The successful candidate will have a track record in working with individuals, groups and communities and can communicate complex information in clear, engaging ways. The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) is a unique and dynamic membership organisation which comprises 15 of the UK’s leading humanitarian agencies.
The DEC launches appeals when there is a humanitarian emergency of such magnitude to warrant a national UK response, with most DEC funds being raised over an intensive two-week period following a disaster. DEC fundraising appeals benefit from the combined expertise of our member agencies, resulting in wide-reaching appeals across high-profile TV, radio, and an increasing number of digital channels.
Reporting to the Head of Public Fundraising, the Direct Marketing Manager (Retention) is responsible for shaping and delivering new and existing supporter journeys for DEC individual, community and legacy donors, and leading a programme of improvement across all major contact points between the DEC and the public.
As Direct Marketing Manager (Retention), you will:
- Contribute to and develop DEC direct marketing strategies, including the refreshing, implementation and analysis of DEC’s segmentation, in order to maximise future income and continually improve the retention of individual supporters for future emergency appeals
- Lead on the production of retention and reporting back materials for individual and community supporters
- Manage the development and maintenance of specific supporter journeys
- Develop and oversee the materials and supporter positioning for a light-touch and mainly reactive legacy marketing programme for the DEC
Person specification:
- Strong direct marketing experience with a focus on high volume donor retention, with demonstrable knowledge of donor motivations, managing donor relationships, and direct marketing techniques such as direct mail, email, SMS and SMS content management systems
- A proven track record of developing effective digital and direct marketing strategies, which resulted in significant growth of income and retention of a charity’s individual supporters
- A key driver for success in this role is the ability to work under extreme pressure during appeals and to very tight deadlines
- Experience of managing complex budgets and proven ability to manage a complex operational plan within very short timeframes and within budget
- Ideally you will have experience of working in the international humanitarian aid sector
PLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid working role, where there is a compulsory 2-week office attendance during an appeal (meals provided). Therefore, this role is suitable for those living within a commutable distance to DEC's Angel, London office.
