About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the senior leadership team at a time of growth, ambition and innovation. We are looking for a strategic, expert and collaborative Director of Partnerships and Insight to help us build and deliver impactful national partnerships that bring real, measurable benefits to communities across the UK.
You will be responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of high-value, strategic partnerships—whether with government departments (such as DCMS), major trusts and foundations (like the Henry Smith Charity), corporate partners, or other longstanding partners (such as the National Emergencies Trust).
You’ll work closely with community foundations to shape strong proposals and lead the end-to-end implementation of partnerships and programmes.
You’ll also play a key role in helping UKCF and the wider network become more insight-led and data-driven—strengthening our approach to programme design, learning, and impact evaluation. You’ll work closely with our Digital Transformation team to embed best practice in the use of data and evidence.
This role requires exceptional relationship-building skills, confidence working at a national level, and the ability to develop and articulate clear theories of change and evaluation frameworks. Subject expertise in areas such as philanthropy, AI, social cohesion, neighbourhood health or climate is desirable.
You will report to the CEO and be a key member of the Senior Management Team.
Key responsibilities
Strategic partnerships development
You will lead the identification, development, and stewardship of national strategic partnerships that align with UKCF’s mission and deliver meaningful outcomes for our partners and for communities across the UK.
This includes initiating and negotiating collaborations with government departments, large foundations, businesses, and sector partners. Working closely with community foundations across the country, you will co-create proposals and programme designs that draw on local expertise and deliver impact at scale.
From inception to evaluation, you will oversee the full partnership lifecycle, ensuring robust governance, clear communication, and high-quality delivery throughout.
Insight and impact
A central part of the role is to embed a strong culture of learning and evidence across UKCF’s national partnerships. You will shape and implement theories of change and robust evaluation frameworks, working with partners and community foundations to ensure that programme outcomes are clearly defined, measured, and communicated.
You will collaborate with the Digital Transformation team to improve our use of data and insight, driving forward a more evidence-led approach to programme design and influencing. Through this work, you will help generate actionable insights that inform future partnerships and strengthen our case for support with funders and policymakers.
Leadership and collaboration
You will manage our Programmes Officer, with responsibility for supporting their professional development. You will work closely with the Chief Executive to develop plans for growing the team, grounded in the need to ensure financial sustainability.
As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will play a key role in strategic decision-making and organisational development. You will provide visible leadership across UKCF, championing collaboration and innovation internally and externally.
You will cultivate strong, trusting relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including community foundation leaders, funders, and public sector partners. Representing UKCF at high-level events and forums, you will contribute thought leadership on place-based philanthropy and community-led change. In all your work, you will model inclusive leadership and ensure our partnerships reflect our values and commitment to equity and social justice.

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and results-oriented Senior Digital Acquisition Executive to join our growing Individual Giving Team within Public Fundraising at Prostate Cancer Research. This is a pivotal new role, offering huge potential to shape the future of IG at PCR and capitalise fully on our exciting growth trajectory.
The last 12 months have seen significant transformation within our IG fundraising, with our regular giving base more than trebling. Building on this momentum, and campaigns such as last year's successful prostate cancer screening petition and our increased campaigning and public relations footprint. This role will be instrumental in driving continued expansion through digital channels, including paid social and email, with significant scope to identify and implement new, innovative, or novel acquisition strategies. You will be key to growing our supporter base and maximising their lifetime value through engaging digital stewardship and carefully crafted supporter journeys. Lead generation and conversion, cross-selling, and the development and management of these journeys will all be significant aspects of this role. Key Responsibilities
Digital Acquisition and Fundraising

Develop and implement acquisition campaigns and activity to attract new supporters through social platforms, both paid and unpaid, search engine advertising, and email marketing. As well as novel and innovative platforms and opportunities as identified.

Analyse metrics and data, reporting on KPI’s, budget and spend, and work to constantly test and optimise campaigns to exceed targets and improve return on advertisement spend / return on investment.

Ensure regular monitoring of performance across all activities and make necessary adjustments to maximise net income opportunities.

Analyse and share the results of campaign activity.

Support forecasting and budget planning on Digital marketing activities within the IG budget.

Develop and execute digital campaigns, including where the ultimate conversion is via traditional channels such as telephone or mail, taking an integrated approach, to acquire and convert new supporters.

Create and optimise content and digital journeys to maximise conversions and build loyalty. This will include elements of creative fundraising writing, concepting and messaging development, and some visual design development.

Generate and utilise insight within digital campaigns to improve results.

Support the organisation in developing the website to be optimised for fundraising, make recommendations to improve performance, optimise content and landing pages, recommend and make the most of on-site technologies and plugins that can help drive our performance.

Stewardship and Supporter Experience

Maintain a good level of understanding of our supporters' behaviours and motivations to create and implement stewardship content and journeys, feedback and respond to queries and enquiries relevant to IG activity.

Work with the team to ensure all supporters are thanked and updated in an appropriate and timely manner and all interactions and activities are in line with our supporter promise.

Ensure supporter journeys are segmented and personalised wherever possible.

Cultivate deeper engagement with supporters beyond transactional interactions, exploring opportunities for meaningful dialogue, feedback mechanisms, and a sense of community.

Develop and deliver personalised relationship-building communications and initiatives that recognise supporter loyalty and deepen their connection to the impact of their support.

Work with the wider PCR team to maximise opportunities for fundraising and patient impact including via cross selling with different audiences.

Develop engaging supporter communications and assets for all channels, for example email headers, landing pages, social ads – which drive action and deepen engagement with the cause.
Collaboration and Development

Work with Agile principles in mind, together with the IG Team and collaborating colleagues across the organisation, to plan and deliver high quality work.

Build key relationships across teams within and outside Public Fundraising to achieve successful fundraising outcomes, improving both supporter & patient perceptions of PCR.

As required, represent PCR externally, promoting our work and building long-term relationships with stakeholders and supporters.

Build strong relationships with partners, freelancers and consultants, agencies, and suppliers as needed to support the delivery of individual giving activity.

Database and Compliance

Hold a good working knowledge of key aspects of data protection law including GDPR and PECR, and the Fundraising Code of Practice.

Work with our tools and seek to improve knowledge and use of these, including but not limited to Access CRM, Fundraise Up, Google Analytics 4 (G4A) and MailChimp.

Adhere to all PCR policies and abide by the code of conduct and other related guidance in the PCR Staff Handbook.
Skills and Competencies
Our ideal candidate would have the following:

Proven experience in digital acquisition for charity or social cause, or in paid digital marketing or advertising in commercial roles. With demonstrable campaign management experience and expertise setting up and managing campaigns in Meta business suite, Google paid advertising and email marketing.

Evidence of leading successful digital / integrated digital campaigns leading to significant sales/income/lead generation.

The ability to monitor and manage income and expenditure against targets as well as forecast and report on digital campaigns across all channels.

Knowledge and experience of trends and dynamics in digital fundraising (ideally), including audience identification and optimisation strategies including with new technologies like AI tools.

Experience and a track record of working on landing page optimisation and on-site conversion funnel improvements.

A good understanding of individual giving best practices, trends, and regulatory requirements.

The ability to motivate and inspire audiences through content and creative writing and storytelling for digital channels.

Experience moderating digital campaigns or working with others to do so (knowledge of issues and best practice) and providing excellent supporter/customer support as needed.

Working arrangements
This is a 12-month fixed term contract.
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.
At BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on hybrid contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average.
This position involves travel throughout the UK and occasional weekend working for event delivery (approximately 5 weekends per year). Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) will be provided for weekend work.

This role plays a vital part in helping Winston’s Wish turn up the dial across our Individual Giving Fundraising. The Individual Giving Manager is responsible for creating, developing and delivering a fundraising plan to grow existing and new support for Winston’s Wish across our online and offline channels. This includes Direct Mails, Regular Giving, our Lottery, Legacies and In Memory giving income streams.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- Lead on the development and implementation of our Individual Giving strategy, supported by the Head of Mass Participation and the Director of Fundraising & Marketing.
- Ensure all opportunities and future plans are in line with Winston’s Wish’s over-arching fundraising strategy to meet financial targets, organisational objectives and KPIs.
- Maintain an awareness of philanthropy trends, news, events and legislation in the UK to ensure that Winston’s Wish remains up to date on key changes which are likely to impact on individual giving.
Generating Individual Giving Income
- Lead on and deliver a plan to increase individual giving income from streams including, but not exclusive to, direct mail, regular giving, legacies, in-mem and our charity lottery
- Effective use of KPIs to ensure decisions are driven by evidence and real-time data.
- Continuously analyse our income and supporter data to measure effectiveness of activities and return on investment.
- Work alongside our design agencies and in-house marketing team to develop and manage direct mail campaigns, including segmentation to ensure campaigns will be carefully targeted and designed to maximise income.
- Explore and test new methods for donor recruitment and increasing donations.
- Seek every opportunity to increase awareness of legacy giving to Winston’s Wish and monitor the effectiveness of these activities over time.
- Manage a growing portfolio of legacy enquirers with appropriate contact and timely solicitation of prospective legators including hosting events and tailored stewardship.
- Manage the stewardship and development of our regular giving programme including uplift campaigns and solicitation of new donors to agreed targets.

Turn2us and its partners have secured £1.5 million from The National Lottery Community Fund to deliver an ambitious and innovative new programme that will support charities in England and Scotland to empower diverse and marginalised communities to respond to climate change and to get their voices heard in environmental policy and media debates.It will focus on Disabled people, those facing financial insecurity and people from ethnic minority communities. These voices are often the least heard from in national and local debates on our environment. This new work aims to change that.
As part of this programme, The National Lottery Community Fund have funded the creation of an Engagement Manager post at Turn2us to work with those facing financial insecurity. The Engagement Manager employed by Turn2us will deliver activity with smaller charities and grassroots organisations supporting those facing financial insecurity that:
- Increases awareness of the impact of environmental change and related policy on different communities
- Listens to people in these communities to find out what actions they want charities and local government to take
- Develops shared local environmental policy priorities and empowers these organisations to advocate directly to local and national policy makers
- Identifies actions that these organisations can take to support communities to respond to climate change, and helps organisations to implement them
- Identifies people with lived experience to receive hands on training in order to act as diverse champions to media and policy makers
They will work closely with Community Engagement Managers employed by Disability Rights UK, and Race Equality Foundation, focussed on reaching organisations supporting Disabled people and people from ethnic minority communities.

In November 2024, St Peter’s Walworth submitted a First-Round application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) for Development Phase funding for the “Building Beyond: Soane Reimagined” project. The request was for a First Round Pass of £3.1m and a Development Grant of £438,000. A decision was received by NLHF on 13th March 2025 and pending Permission to Start, the Development Phase is set to run for 18 months, at which point a Delivery Round application will be submitted to activate a Delivery Phase. Staff, a Design Team, a QS and specialist consultants will need to be competitively appointed to complete a list of required documents/studies for the Delivery application. Design development needs to be completed to RIBA Stage 3, planning, Faculty and consents need to be in place and all partnership funding raised or pledged.
Capital works are proposed to the exterior of the Church, respecting its heritage integrity, making it more sustainable and putting it in good order throughout. Similarly inside, where improvements will make the Church more welcoming, improving infrastructure and circulation and accommodating planned activities. Works will take place over the three floors: Crypt Basement, the Ground Floor and the Gallery/First Floor.
A full time Heritage Manager will need to be appointed at the beginning of the 18-month Development Phase. The successful candidate will provide leadership for the Project reporting to Claire Maugham (Chair of the Steering Group Committee) involved in strategic planning, management, execution, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. In order to achieve the goals of St Peter’s Walworth, they will oversee design development to RIBA Stage 3 of “Building Beyond: Soane Reimagined” and oversee the preparation of key NLHF checklist documents, supporting on the roll out of a successful fundraising campaign - with a target to raise just over £1m working with a Fundraising Appeal Board, and a F/T Trusts and Foundations Manager.
The Heritage Manager will be a strategic thinker with an understanding of the planning and delivery of major projects funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF). We are also looking for a candidate that will successfully integrate partnerships that are being forged in the local area. They should have a strong background in project management and possess the ability to move adeptly between big picture thinking and day-to-day operations, where it will be necessary, for example, to process their own admin.
The Heritage Manager will have some experience of fundraising, networking and financial management and be comfortable working in a start-up environment, being able to demonstrate experience of extensive community engagement, as well as an understanding of and empathy with the ambitions and vision of the St Peter’s Walworth PCC (Parochial Church Council) and the needs of a Grade 1 listed building.
They will bring an inclusive approach to their work, able to centre and involve the church and local community in the project while integrating the experience of a wide range of volunteer professionals

The Events & Community Manager role is a new position, created to give the attention and expertise needed to our large and profitable portfolio of virtual challenge events, which have collectively raised over £1m gross income per year for two years. It is a crucial role within the team, overseeing the innovation, planning and delivery of all virtual challenges. Strategy, Project Management and Income Growth
- Lead the strategy to maximise the value of PCR's virtual challenge events portfolio, working with the Head of E&C and others to take a long-term view, building on existing foundations to grow and maintain a sustainable income stream
- Oversee the project management of PCR's Facebook Challenges in the UK, leading end-to-end planning and delivery with the support of the E&C executives to hit ambition fundraising targets

About the role
