The African Gifted Foundation (AGF) exists to develop Africa's future STEM leaders by supporting gifted young women to access world-class education. Our flagship project, the African Science Academy (ASA) in Ghana, is a fully-scholarshipped boarding school focused on mathematics and physics, with students drawn from across Africa.

We're at a pivotal moment. Having grown to circa £1 million in annual income, we're ready to scale our impact. We are embarking on an exciting new initiative to build a new campus and double the size of our school over the next couple of years. We need an exceptional fundraising leader to help us get there.

The Opportunity

As Head of Fundraising, you'll be a key member of our senior leadership team, shaping strategy and driving income growth to transform opportunities for hundreds more young African women in STEM.

In your first year, you'll:

• Take ownership of our £1m fundraising portfolio and develop a clear growth strategy
• Deepen relationships with our existing major donors, trusts and corporate partners
• Identify and secure at least 3-5 significant new funding partnerships
• Build robust systems for pipeline management, donor stewardship and impact reporting
• Work closely with our Executive Director and Board to align fundraising with our ambitious expansion plans

What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and deliver a compelling fundraising strategy aligned with AGF's growth ambitions
• Set ambitious but achievable income targets and manage performance against them
• Provide clear metrics, insights and recommendations to the Executive Director and Board
• Identify opportunities for income diversification and risk mitigation

Major Donor & Partnership Management

• Manage and grow our portfolio of major donors, trusts, foundations and corporate partners
• Personally cultivate and steward high-value relationships
• Identify and pursue new funding prospects through research and networking
• Develop compelling cases for support tailored to different donor segments

Operational Excellence

• Establish and maintain effective systems for pipeline management, CRM and donor tracking
• Ensure excellent donor stewardship, reporting and compliance with all funder requirements
• Create compelling donor materials and impact reports, working collaboratively with communications, programmes and finance teams 
• Take responsibility for collecting compelling impact data, including through liaising with alumni

• Represent AGF at donor meetings, events and in philanthropic networks (UK and occasionally international)

Who You Are

Essential Experience & Skills

✓ Proven track record of strategic fundraising in the UK charity sector, with demonstrable success in securing five-figure+ gifts from trusts, foundations and major donors

✓ Relationship builder with excellent ability to engage, persuade and steward high-value donors at senior levels (trustees, HNWIs, corporate decision-makers)

✓ Strategic thinker who can develop compelling fundraising strategies and turn them into practical action plans with measurable results

✓ Portfolio manager experienced in managing multiple major donor relationships simultaneously and building a robust pipeline

✓ Excellent communicator in writing and speaking - confident presenting to trustees, corporates and philanthropic audiences

✓ Organized & commercially aware with ability to manage budgets, set targets and deliver against KPIs

Battersea is entering an exciting phase of innovation and transformation as we embark on our new five-year strategy. This is a new role working across Battersea’s Philanthropy, Partnerships and Commercial (PP&C) fundraising team, to help drive income growth and maintain strong funder relationships.

The primary focus of your work will be prospect identification and qualification for an upcoming capital campaign. This will include new major donor prospects and charitable Trusts that support capital projects.
You will also be responsible for undertaking due diligence on individuals, corporations and trusts that are supporting Battersea in order to inform our colleagues about potential financial and reputational risks, empowering them to make informed decisions about our partnerships.
You will be an integral part of the capital campaign, managing the prospect pipelines, tracking prospects as they move through the cultivation cycle and supporting the fundraisers with their cultivation. You will also write and contribute to event biographies for our Special Event program during particularly busy periods.
You will ensure that all research output is compliant with GDPR and will share data protection expertise with other team members.

About the role

The Head of Marketing and Communications plays a leading role in developing the gallery’s brand, growing and diversifying audiences, and strengthening the visibility of the organisation locally, nationally and internationally.  Working closely with the Director and Senior Management Team (SMT), this pivotal role is instrumental in helping to meet the gallery’s objectives to increase footfall and digital engagement, strengthen relationships with existing visitors and develop new audiences. This post-holder plays a central role with the Director in maintaining the artistic reputation and profile of Modern Art Oxford as one of the UK’s most ambitious and influential contemporary art organisations, and driving ambitious marketing and communications campaigns. 

The position is responsible for developing and delivering the gallery’s audience development, communications and digital strategies, and plays a central role in nurturing relationships with stakeholders, including press, partners, artists and audiences.  Ensuring compliance with data protection legislation and championing the gallery’s value of equality, diversity and inclusion are central to this role.

Reporting to the Director and forming part of the Senior Management Team, the Head of Marketing and Communications is a full time position which manages and is supported by a full-time Marketing Manager and a full-time Design and Communications Officer, with freelance support on press/PR and design as required for specific exhibitions and projects.

Principal Responsibilities

Marketing and Communications

• To grow and diversify Modern Art Oxford’s visiting and online audiences by leading audience development, communications and digital marketing strategies that will enable the organisation to build on its brand and profile, and strengthen its visibility in Oxford, the UK and beyond.
• To develop and oversee implementation of all marketing, communications and PR activity including media relations, social media and digital activity, development of marketing and branding collateral, and on-site interpretation.
• To formulate with the direction of the Director a transformational vision for the use of digital technologies to drive engagement and interaction with our online audiences.
• To manage effective and efficient relationships with any external PR and marketing consultants and companies.
• To develop and nurture key stakeholder, media and marketing relationships and partnerships and cultivate new relationships to ensure that our profile is high locally, nationally and internationally, and that our position as a leading tourist attraction in Oxfordshire and the South East grows.
• To strategically develop distinctive and innovative digital content, working closely and in creative collaboration with the Head of Exhibitions, Head of Communities, Participation and Practice as well as the wider Marketing and Communications team.
• To work with colleagues to strengthen visitor experience and engagement, both on-site and digitally, to increase profile and ensure that the organisation continues to thrive as one of the UK’s leading contemporary art spaces.

Fundraising and Finance

• To attend events at Modern Art Oxford and externally to represent the gallery and build relationships with key external stakeholders. Occasional weekend and evening work will be required.
• To ensure tight, clear, budgetary setting, control and regular re-forecasting against targets working with the Head of Finance.
• To work closely with the Head of Development to support new fundraising initiatives and partnerships as required.
• To regularly review all communications activities, suppliers and resources to ensure best value for money.
• To prepare reports as required by Arts Council England and Oxford City Council and other funders/stakeholders in relation to digital, marketing and communications activities.

Person Specification

• Experience of running a Marketing and Communications team at a senior level within an arts organisation or similar field

The Role 

Support the planning, coordination and delivery of student recruitment and outreach for SEO London. The role plays a key part in executing digital outreach strategies, managing engagement with students and partners and supporting the organisation’s wider marketing and communications efforts. 

RESPONSIBLE AND ACCOUNTABILITY: 

Communications and Marketing 

• Oversee SEO London’s website and social media content, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and alignment with organisational priorities. 

• Review the SEO London upcoming activity to promote opportunities, events and resources in coordination with programme teams. 

• Draft, edit and schedule newsletters for students and partners, ensuring consistent messaging and campaign alignment. 

• Support the Marketing and Communications Manager in delivering campaigns and maintaining brand consistency. 

• Monitor analytics to assess engagement and recommend improvements across digital platforms. 

Social Media Management 

• Manage SEO London’s social media accounts (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok). 

• Create high-quality copy and visual assets, responding to student enquiries and maintaining brand standards. 

• Oversee the social media request process, working with teams to capture and share engaging content. 

• Deliver and lead on the social media plan through weekly posts and updates. 

• Maintain and update the DEI calendar, integrating relevant topics into the social media plan. 

• Collaborate with teams across the organisation to ensure consistent and inclusive messaging. 

Student Engagement and Conversion 

• Deliver virtual and in-person orientation and engagement sessions. 

• Plan and manage targeted SMS and call campaigns, monitoring performance and suggesting improvements. 

• Develop creative strategies to attract, convert and retain participants within SEO Careers programmes. 

Outreach and Stakeholder Engagement 

• Support the planning and delivery of outreach fairs and recruitment events, including logistics, follow-up and evaluation. 

• Build and maintain relationships with universities, student societies and other partners to promote SEO London’s programmes year-round. 

• Manage and promote Giving Back opportunities, ensuring listings are accurate and aligned with recruitment goals. 

• Represent SEO London at speaking engagements, online events and other outreach initiatives. 

Design and Administration 

• Manage Canva and PowerPoint templates, supporting teams with finalised marketing materials. 

• Design and produce visual and video assets for digital use. 

• Oversee merchandise inventory, orders and other ad-hoc administrative tasks. 

Collaboration and Relationships 

• Work closely with other departments to align marketing and outreach with programme goals. 

• Foster and build positive relationships with corporate partners, universities, students, alumni and the wider community to ensure communications are effective and impactful.

For a global healthcare organisation undergoing digital transformation, we're recruiting an interim Project Manager for at least 3-months. Reporting to the Director of Data and Digital Transformation, this role will lead on several digital transformation projects at various stages of project life cycle. This role will partner with teams across the business and other Project Managers, the Product team, BI team, and IT teams, as well as the Governance and operations divisions to drive the organisation forward on its journey to improve and enable change.

What you'll be doing:

• Leading a range of in-flight projects (various stages of project life cycle) across digital, data and technology clusters including business change, IT systems/products, and improvements to current platforms
• Management of all project elements including budget management, requirements gathering, implementation planning, impact assessments, risk mitigation and benefits management
• Project reporting, including presenting to project boards and senior stakeholders
• Efficiently picking up in-flight projects as well as initiation of newly defined projects, acting as the interface between the business and technology teams - gaining buy-in from stakeholders
