Location: ½ home-based with travel across the South West Region, ½ based in the ICE office in Exeter, with travel to schools. 

Salary: Scripture Union £27,422 - £27,600 FTE per annum,  ICE Role £24,800 FTE per annum. For part-time appointments, the salary will be calculated pro rata based on the agreed hours and subject to experience.

About the role  

We’re Scripture Union (SU), we’re one of the UK’s longest-established children and youth ministry organisations. We’re working in partnership with Exeter ICE (Initiatives in Christian Education), a schools ministry charity, to offer this unique role to reach many more young people across the South West of England. 

We’re looking for a creative and entrepreneurial individual with a passion for helping children and young people across Exeter and the South West of England to explore and respond to the good news of Jesus. To do this, we’re offering two roles; Schools Worker and Rural Revealing Jesus Pioneer, which could be filled by one person as a full-time role, or two individuals working closely together. 

These unique roles combine the benefits of direct face-to-face engagement with young people in an urban context, delivering assemblies and workshops across Exeter while also developing and mentoring others to expand ministry in more rural contexts across the South West Region. The ideal candidate(s) will have equal passion and experience in both contexts; however, in reality, we accept that candidates may have a greater preference towards one context.

A flexible role shaped around you  

These roles are being offered by Scripture Union and ICE; two organisations with a long history of partnership and collaboration. The roles could be combined into one full-time position for one candidate, or filled by two individuals who would work closely together. The positions suit a candidate who enjoys face-to-face interactions with young people locally and strategic work regionally, training others for delivery. You’ll work closely with the ICE team in Exeter and maintain weekly connections with the SU South region team.   

Both roles offer a maximum of 2.5 days per week, with the option to combine into one full-time roles.

About Scripture Union   

You might have heard of us before if you're one of the 1.5 million+ who have attended one of our Christian holidays or missions over the years, or maybe you're one of the 40,000+ subscribers to have used our brilliant devotionals or been stirred by our exceptional bible resources. We've been at this for a fair few years... over 150 to be precise. Over this time, we’ve remained passionate about helping children and young people develop a vibrant faith in Jesus. As our name describes, the radical power of God's word has always been central to our approach.     

We still do all the great stuff with resources and holidays, but in the last few years, we have sharpened our vision with a renewed focus to help the 95% of young people (primary and secondary school age) across the UK who have never stepped foot inside a church, to hear and respond to the good news of Jesus. We do this through equipping and resourcing the local church, training up volunteers from local churches (we call them ‘Faith Guides’) and collaborating with local and national partners across the UK to connect with children and young people and support them on a journey of exploring faith in a way that is relevant and meaningful.   

In the last few years we’ve developed a brand new approach to how we do this, it’s simple and incredibly effective, we call it Revealing Jesus, and its making a massive difference, in the last couple of years we’ve trained up nearly 600 Faith Guides across 400+ churches in England and Wales, collectively we’re seeing over 50,000 young people on a journey of exploring the christen faith and responding to an invitation to become followers of Jesus. We have 24 staff organised into four regional teams, and alongside our local and national partners, we’re playing our part in a network of organisations that seeks to reach children and young people in every context, across every town and city across England and Wales. About ICE   

For the last 36 years, ICE has been working in the schools across Exeter bringing faith to life. We interact with young people throughout their time in school sharing God’s love through our words and actions. We tell stories of what Jesus has done, open the Bible and invite them to consider for themselves who Jesus is and what that means for them.

We work in 20 primary schools, 5 secondary schools and the sixth form college. We connect with roughly 225 children and young people every week through our lunch time and after-school clubs. And over a year will reach around 5,000 young people through assemblies sharing bible stories, biographies of Christian heroes and the good news of Jesus. 

(p.s we also give out about 9,000 biscuits every year too)

We are a charity with a small staff team, and a mighty team of over 40 volunteers who serve with us week in week out to make our work possible.

About your team  

Like many jobs, you will work with lots of different teams in different contexts. With this role, you will have the benefit of being part of both a local-focused team and a second team with a regional focus.

If you take the role as a combined full-time position, you’ll work half-time out of the office of ICE, joining an exceptional team of 3, working face-to-face with young people in Exeter primary and secondary schools and colleges across Exeter, this work is term time only. You will also be a part of the SU South Region team of 5 workers at SU who work across SU’s largest region, from Kent to Cornwall. You’ll contribute your expertise in a variety of settings, ranging from urban and suburban to coastal and rural areas. You’ll have a brilliant time getting acquainted with this rich tapestry of local and national partners. Across the south region, we currently work with 130 churches and have 150 faith guides. We’d like to see these numbers grow significantly over the next few years. And if two candidates split the roles between them, both roles will have close working relationships with the other team. 

The south region includes the south west of England brimming with distinct charm and rich cultural heritage, a tapestry of contrasts, where dramatic coastline and golden beaches seamlessly transition into ancient, brooding moors and vibrant, historic cities and rural towns. We are particularly interested in how sports, arts, and culture can be explored to further enable the mission and would be particularly interested in candidates with expertise in either of these areas. In the south region we have the highest density of Christian holidays and festivals, with events that we organise and run directly and also a variety of festival and missions that we support and partner with, you’ll have a fantastic opportunity each summer to get hands on engaged in these mission and festivals throughout the year. 

Job description  

The official title has two parts School Worker and Rural Revealing Jesus Pioneer. Here’s a brief breakdown of each:   

Schools Worker – ICE  
You will work in and around the city of Exeter as part of the schools team to plan and deliver assemblies, small group work, lunch clubs, and projects for primary and secondary schools to explain Christian faith - this will vary between working closely with colleagues, or working independently. You’ll be planning and filming short videos for occasional assembly viewing, liaising with volunteers from churches who have a connection with a school and liaising with the trustees of the charity in continuing momentum in the work.  

Rural Revealing Jesus Pioneer - SU  
You will work across the south west of England, with a particular focus on rural areas, multiplying your impact through equipping, empowering and mobilising others in outreach work. You’ll add energy, expertise, direction, and skill to the mix. You’ll recruit, motivate, train, equip and support Faith Guides; you’ll work in partnership with this group as well as leading by example, you will model excellent mission delivery to children and young people aligned with SU’s mission.

Job Title: Philanthropy Manager

Reports to: Senior Philanthropy Manager

Location: Hybrid work with 40% from Breaking Barriers’ offices in Manchester, Birmingham or Glasgow

Hours: 5 days per week (37.5 hours) but open to part-time (30 hours minimum), and flexible working arrangements

Overall purpose

The Philanthropy Manager will manage and steward a portfolio of funders and donors – across trusts and foundations, statutory sources and major donors – to secure annual and multi-year gifts in support of Breaking Barriers’ vision. As well as managing relationships with our existing donors there will be a focus on creating new relationships through proactive prospecting and developing a long-term strategic approach to stewardship and relationship development.

You will be an ambitious, enthusiastic, energetic, and autonomous fundraiser with a demonstrable passion for supporting people from a refugee background. You will have a strong track record of high-value relationship management and fundraising, ideally specialising in Trusts, Statutory, Major Donor fundraising or a related area. We are looking for someone who can successfully secure and steward gifts of 5 figures and above – so evidence of stewarding high-value relationships and high-quality written skills are key.  You will collaborate with additional fundraisers across Trusts, Statutory, Corporate and Major Gifts to coordinate approaches and maximise opportunities across all functions.

We welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills from other sectors and other areas of fundraising but a strong knowledge of the fundamentals of grant fundraising is essential. We are looking for a passionate individual who can get people excited about the work we do and who wants to make a difference in the lives of individuals from a refugee background. ROLE OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a thoughtful, motivated Junior Product Manager to join the Product Team at upReach.

In this role, you’ll help improve the digital tools we use to support thousands of students from underrepresented backgrounds to access top careers. Working closely with developers, colleagues from the Product Team, and our users themselves, you’ll support the development of products that make a real difference - every day.

You don’t need to have worked in product management before. If you’re excited about using technology to make things better, and you enjoy solving problems and collaborating with others, we’d love to hear from you.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

You’ll contribute to the development of one of our key products, supporting its continuous improvement from idea to launch and beyond.

This will include:

• Understanding our users' needs by gathering feedback and doing user research

• Writing clear, simple documentation like feature descriptions and user stories

• Working with developers to bring ideas to life and resolve bugs or issues

This role will work with clients at various stages of their employment journey, with a particular focus on those in the earlier stages of understanding career options, developing employability skills, and exploring education, training, and volunteering opportunities.

The Role: Family Co-ordinator (Domestic Abuse Lead)

This vital role leads the delivery of Home-Start Lambeth's domestic abuse work, with a particular focus on empowering survivors to recover and build brilliant new lives for themselves and their children. You will be responsible for managing and delivering the Freedom Programme, recruiting attendees, and continuously developing the program to meet the evolving needs of survivors. You will also oversee volunteer-delivered support to families in their homes to ensure it is targeted and effective in helping families achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

· Leading Domestic Abuse Support: Spearhead Home-Start Lambeth's domestic abuse initiatives, including the development and delivery of the Freedom Programme, ensuring it effectively supports survivors.

The Role

Active Together is a multimodal prehabilitation and rehabilitation service that has been developed by world leading academics and practitioners at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC) at Sheffield Hallam University and funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research.

Supporting the Head of Active Together, as our Services Manager – Active Together Hull your role will be to establish, implement, manage, and support the continuing improvement of the prehabilitation and rehabilitation service for cancer patients at the newly developed Active Together centre in Hull. Acting as the non-clinical lead, the role ensures the service is safe, effective, and aligned with the Active Together service design while delivering value for money for the charity.

In addition to overseeing service delivery, the post holder will be responsible for managing the facility itself, including offices, consultation rooms, and three gym studio spaces. The role provides line management of the Service Administrator and supporting the Lead Fitness Instructor, ensuring efficient operational support for the service. Additionally, the post holder will organise and manage the onboarding process for new Yorkshire Cancer Research colleagues, ensuring a smooth transition into the service.

The role involves close collaboration with Hull University Teaching Hospitals (HUTH) clinical staff, working alongside the Service Clinical Lead to ensure an integrated approach to prehabilitation and rehabilitation for cancer patients.

Specifically, you will:

Leadership & Service Management

· Oversee the launch and ongoing management of the Active Together prehabilitation and rehabilitation service in Hull, ensuring smooth implementation and continuous improvement.

· Work closely with HUTH clinical staff, fostering strong collaborative relationships to ensure effective patient pathways.

· Partner with the Service Clinical Lead to maintain alignment between clinical and non-clinical aspects of the service.

· Lead collaborative working across the service delivery team, maximising colleagues' skills, ensuring clear direction, and maintaining high-quality processes.

· Collaborate with the Digital Teams at Yorkshire Cancer Research and at HUTH to manage and develop IT systems that support the safe and effective delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the service, including telephony, hardware, and software.

Line Management & Administrative Leadership

· Provide line management of the Service Administrator and any other administrative support colleagues, ensuring clarity in responsibilities and professional growth.

· Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, set clear objectives, and support colleagues in achieving their goals.

· Ensure efficient administrative support, covering scheduling, patient coordination, and facility management.

· Promote a positive and collaborative working culture within the administrative team and broader colleagues working in the service for Yorkshire Cancer Research and HUTH.

· Ensure that all charity policies, standards and operating procedures are communicated effectively to all members of your team and are maintained and followed consistently.

Onboarding & colleagues Integration

· Ensure that all equipment is available to be able to operate the Active Together Hull Service environment

· Working closely with HR to organise and manage the onboarding process for new Yorkshire Cancer Research colleagues, ensuring a seamless transition into the service.

· Provide structured induction, ensuring new colleagues understand the service model, policies, and operational procedures.

Evidence, Research, and Development

· Oversee data generation to support service evaluation and research.

· Ensure all service-related data is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.

· Gather patient experience insights in Hull through PPI work, patient satisfaction questionnaires, and qualitative evaluations, feeding into service improvement initiatives.

Facility Management

· Oversee day-to-day operations of the Active Together Centre, ensuring optimal use of offices, consultation rooms, and gym spaces.

· Ensure facility safety, compliance, and upkeep, liaising with building management as needed.

· Manage procurement and maintenance of essential equipment and resources to support service delivery.

· Lead on the management of contractors and service providers (including but not limited to, shredding, printing, office greenery).

Other duties

· Provide cover as required across the team to cover annual leave, sickness absence and training

· Be trained as a First Aider and Fire Marshal and manage the rota for First Aid and Fire Marshal cover

Role Summary

The main function of the Bookings Team Executive role is to provide high quality customer service for the Into Film Festival. This will mean receiving calls, processing bookings and liaising with educators through email and by phone. It will also involve making outbound calls to drive bookings, speaking to attending teachers and liaising with cinemas to ensure the festival runs smoothly. This is an exciting, front-line, varied role requiring high level communication skills and a solution focused attitude. It is an opportunity to develop customer service and CRM (Salesforce/Aerian) skills and to work for the world’s largest film festival for young people.  This role is offered on a fixed term, three-month basis.

Main Responsibilities:

• To be the first point of contact for public festival enquiries; answering calls and emails, processing bookings and problem solving.
• Proactively reaching out over email and phone to educators/bookers, aiming to sign them up to the festival.
• Liaising with the festival team to ensure all enquiries and issues are resolved.
• Checking, updating and uploading booking information onto our festival website (via Aerian - training available).
• Updating the daily incident log (via Excel) - this is used for tracking all enquiries/issues from cinemas. 
• Liaising with exhibitors as and when required and as directed.
• General support in relation to all aspects of the festival.
• Any other reasonable duties assigned by Into Film.

Person Specification:

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience of a customer service role.
