About Trans Celebration

Trans Celebration is a trans-led grassroots organisation based in the UK, dedicated to uplifting trans and gender-diverse communities through celebration, advocacy, and education. Our monthly campaigns use creative media like fashion, beauty, and the arts to highlight gender diversity and improve visibility, inclusion, and access to resources.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and strategic SEO Specialist Volunteer to help optimise our online presence and ensure our campaigns and content reach the communities that need them most.

Job Summary

The SEO Specialist Volunteer will play a key role in enhancing the visibility and searchability of Trans Celebration’s website and digital content. This volunteer will work alongside the marketing team to implement SEO best practices, conduct keyword research, improve site structure, and analyse web performance—all to ensure our content reaches a broader audience and amplifies trans voices online.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct keyword research to inform website content and campaign strategies.

• Optimise existing content for improved search engine ranking (meta tags, headers, alt text, etc.).

• Monitor and analyse SEO performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEMrush.

• Identify technical SEO issues and collaborate with web/content teams to resolve them.

• Assist in developing backlink strategies and improving domain authority.

• Support the content team in creating SEO-optimised blogs and pages.

• Provide monthly reports on SEO performance and suggest improvements.

• Stay up to date with SEO trends, Google algorithm updates, and emerging best practices.

What We’re Looking For

Skills & Competencies:

• Understanding of SEO principles and search engine algorithms.

• Experience using SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Moz, Ahrefs, or SEMrush.

• Ability to perform keyword research and competitor analysis.

• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and content management systems (especially WordPress).

Yafika Agri Venture

Provides scalable and sustainable solutions to smallholder farmers in the last mile of Malawi

1. Limited Access to Quality Agricultural Inputs Smallholder farmers in Malawi, particularly in last-mile communities, face persistent barriers to accessing certified seeds, fertilizers, and agrochemicals due to high upfront costs, long distances to supply points, and limited credit options. This results in poor crop yields, food insecurity, and a cycle of poverty.

2. Low Financial Literacy and Exclusion Most rural farmers lack access to formal financial services and education. Without savings mechanisms or knowledge of managing agricultural cash flows, they remain vulnerable to shocks and are unable to invest in productivity-enhancing practices.

3. Unreliable and Exploitative Markets Farmers often sell produce to informal vendors at exploitative prices due to the absence of structured, transparent, and reliable markets. This erodes potential profits, discourages production, and limits economic empowerment.

4. Climate Vulnerability and Unsustainable Practices Shifting rainfall patterns, soil degradation, and unsustainable farming practices are threatening food security and environmental health. Many farmers lack access to training on climate-smart agriculture or awareness of sustainable land and water use practices.

5. Youth Unemployment and Rural Marginalization Youth in rural Malawi face high unemployment rates and few viable income opportunities. Farming is often viewed as unprofitable or outdated, leading to rural-urban migration and the loss of potential agricultural labor and innovation.

At Yafika Agri Venture, we provide a holistic, scalable, and community-rooted model that increases the productivity and resilience of last-mile smallholder farmers in Malawi. Our solution directly tackles the key challenges farmers face by integrating four core components:

1. Access to Quality Inputs on Credit We source certified seeds, fertilizers, and other essential inputs from approved suppliers and deliver them directly to farmers on an asset-based loan model. This eliminates high upfront costs and long travel distances, enabling timely access to resources needed for improved yields.

2. Farmer Training & Extension Services Through hands-on training and field demonstrations, we equip farmers with practical knowledge in climate-smart agriculture, including microdosing, mixed cropping, composting, and post-harvest handling. Our field team works collaboratively with government extension officers and community facilitators to strengthen local capacity.

3. Village Banking & Financial Literacy We organize farmers into village savings groups, providing financial literacy and helping them build a savings culture. This enhances their ability to repay input loans, invest in future production cycles, and manage household finances sustainably.

4. Market Facilitation We support farmers in accessing better-paying and more reliable markets by aggregating surplus harvests, linking them with institutional buyers, and advocating for transparent pricing. This ensures fair returns and incentivizes consistent production.

We recently received a D-Prize grant and are piloting our model. The Welfare Benefits Unit offers specialist welfare benefits advice to those who work with members of the public. Our experienced advisers provide independent support through our advice line, publications, training, consultancy, campaigns and projects.

The Welfare Benefits Unit aims to maximise benefit take-up, helping to reduce the incidence and impact of poverty and in doing so improve health, well-being, financial and social inclusion. We are a registered charity based in York. We primarily operate in North Yorkshire and York although some of our services are accessed by organisations working further afield. 

We continue to aim towards a board that reflects the populations we work to support, and as such, welcome individuals from diverse ethnic communities, LGBTQIA+ groups, as well as younger people, those with disabilities, and those who have lived experience of the welfare benefits system.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

We welcome and support applications from those new to being a Trustee. We also know that studies have shown some people are less likely to apply for positions unless they believe meet every requirement in the description. The most important thing for us is to find Trustees that connect with our values and who can readily buy into our mission. Though we have suggested skills and experience areas below, which would be keen to hear from, we’re eager to meet people that believe in our mission and can contribute to our board in a variety of ways – not just candidates who tick all the boxes.

We’re keen to add these areas of skills and experience to our board:

• Financial, legal or HR matters (especially as they may apply to a small charity)
• Expertise in marketing, digital or similar technological areas
• Welfare benefits system and welfare rights advice or lived experience.

About the Role

All Trustee positions are voluntary with reasonable expenses remunerated. To be an effective Trustee, you will need to commit up to 1-2 days per quarter to attend and prepare for board meetings which are held virtually.

Effective Trustees support our work by:

• ensuring we are working towards our vision, mission and values in everything we do
• ensuring the effective and efficient use of resources, maintaining proper financial and regulatory oversight and best practice as a charity
• approving the annual budget, and supporting strategic decision-making by actively contributing advice and guidance
• appointing key personnel such as the Chief Executive, and determining pay and conditions for the wider team
• constructively guide the Senior Leadership Team in the delivery of the organisation’s strategy
• actively representing and championing the work of the Welfare Benefits Unit.

VOLUNTEER WALK FOR PAWS CO-ORDINATOR

ABOUT US

We’re IAPWA (International Aid for the Protection & Welfare of Animals) - a UK-registered animal welfare charity dedicated to creating a better future for animals in need. 

Our charity is small but mighty! Since our inception in 2009 we have helped over 50,000 animals through our projects and support programmes across the globe. From managing humane dog and cat population projects to reduce the number of puppies and kittens born to suffer on the streets, to providing aid to companion animals, working donkeys, and endangered wildlife - our work is vast. And we're not slowing down any time soon.

As a small charity we can’t do what we do without the support of volunteers and fundraisers. That’s where you come in.

THE ROLE

Walk for Paws is an exciting fundraising initiative that empowers supporters to organise sponsored dog walks to raise vital funds for dogs and cats in need. This summer, we’re scaling it up to support our huge upcoming animal welfare project. We urgently need to raise money to help dogs and cats living in terrible conditions in an animal centre in Borneo - but we need your help to make it a success.

We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Volunteer Walk for Paws Co-ordinator to help grow this campaign over a 4-month period. You’ll play a key role in growing, inspiring and supporting our community of Pack Leaders - the people who run Walk for Paws events in their local area.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community fundraising and supporter engagement, while directly contributing to improving the lives of animals in need.
 

The Volunteer Walk for Paws Co-ordinator will:

• Help grow our Walk for Paws programme by identifying and reaching out to potential supporters, such as dog walking groups, community organisations, and local businesses

• Onboard new Pack Leaders, supporting them to set up and promote their Walk for Paws fundraising events

• Maintain regular, friendly communication with Pack Leaders, answering questions and helping them feel confident and supported

• Come up with creative ideas and mini campaigns to encourage more people to take part in Walk for Paws

• Track fundraising activity and work closely with IAPWA’s team to support Pack Leaders with resources and recognition

• Be an ambassador for IAPWA and the Walk for Paws initiative, helping raise awareness and support for our cause

The ideal person will be:

• A friendly, enthusiastic communicator who enjoys engaging with people and building relationships

• A self-starter who is happy working independently and bringing their own ideas to the table

• Organised and reliable, with good attention to detail and follow-up

• Passionate about animal welfare and making a difference

• Experience in fundraising, supporter care, or community outreach (even in a voluntary or informal setting) is helpful but not essential

East London Waterworks Park is looking for illustrators, animators and graphic designers to help campaign in the creation of our new park with natural swimming ponds.

East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces. 

We are looking for illustrators, animators and graphic designers to contribute to our community-led working circle who are working on coordinating our digital marketing. 

There is opportunity to lead on projects across content creation, social media, film or any other channels of interest, and facilitate the direction of the working circle.

The Comms Circle currently meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.

While technical skills are essential, we also value your ability to think creatively and strategically. You should have experience in creating engaging visual content for various platforms that will engage stakeholders and decision makers, such as public reports, presentations for decision makers, social media and websites. A strong understanding of storytelling and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively through visuals will be invaluable. You should be comfortable with community-led processes. Our roles are quite flexible. We hope that people bring radical imagination, peace with nature, and courageous inclusiveness to the role.

Role Summary.

We are looking for creative and enthusiastic Content Writers to join our newly forming content team. You will help produce inspiring, well-researched blog articles, website content, and resources that connect with our audience and communicate the values and mission of Roots Academy. You’ll also learn valuable SEO writing techniques to ensure your content is discoverable and impactful.

Key tasks

• Research and write clear, engaging, and original content for our website, newsletter, and blog.

• Incorporate keywords and SEO recommendations provided by the SEO Specialist.

• Ensure content aligns with Roots Academy’s brand voice and tone.

• Collaborate with the SEO Specialist and wider team to review and refine drafts.

• Suggest new content topics based on research, trends, and audience needs.
