About the role:

This Best Companies Top 100 mid-sized company and Top 20 charity is looking to appoint an experienced fundraiser to help build income from corporate fundraising with an emphasis on securing long term and strategic partnerships.

Reporting to the Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for proactively generating significant income from five and six figure corporate partnerships by managing the new business pipeline, identifying new opportunities, building relationships and networking with key stakeholders and producing compelling applications and creative partnership proposals.

Previous experience of securing high value, strategic partnerships in the third sector would be beneficial. Responsible for a third of the charity’s income the team are driven, highly motivated & results orientated.

The Senior Events and Membership Co-ordinator has key responsibility for supporting our Organisational Membership alongside the Events Manager and the Head of Commercial Operations to ensure work is covered by the wider team and to act as a central point of contact for partners and clients.

The Events Team is a key core team led by the Head of Commercial Operations, responsible for ensuring that support is provided to the QICN’s core programmes of work including the organisational membership, CPD events and various programmes.

• Acting as a key point of contact for existing and new membership enquiries

About the opportunity:

• Maintain oversight of data being captured in the Microsoft-based impact tool to ensure consistency and quality for supporting organisational planning and decision making
• Support teams in data collection by working with internal stakeholders and ensure data managed by the Impact and Learning team is accurate, complete and reliable
• Contribute to production of reports including dashboards, and presentations for various audiences (internal and external)
• Work closely with the IT team and others to support the integration and optimisation of organisational systems, including the project database, Impact Tool and Matter Management System, and potentially other systems including fundraising and contact management

Wishgranting:

• Support connections to help grant wishes for children with gaming-related wishes by establishing relationships with industry partners, networks and individuals who can help.

Role Overview: Fundraising and Operations Director

The successful candidate will lead RLS’s income generation through our next phase of development. You’ll oversee our relationships with key funders, individual giving, our approach to major donors and our communications. You’ll work closely with the Management Team and trustees to set and implement fundraising strategy and highlight and manage risk.

As a member of the Management Team, you’ll be involved in the day-to-day leadership and oversight of the organisation, with involvement in decisions from strategy to HR, project design and many other aspects of our work.

Core Responsibilities:

Fundraising strategy and development 

• Lead the development and delivery of RLS’s fundraising strategy to meet our funding targets and deliver our strategy.
• Meaningfully involve and guide the Management Team, trustees and Fundraising Officer in strategy development and delivery. 
• Develop new funding sources as appropriate.
• Ensure that funding sources fit with RLS’s values and our moral and ethical fundraising policy.

Organisational leadership 

• Work with the Management Team and trustees to lead on the delivery of RLS’s strategic objectives.
• Work with the Management Team to lead RLS, including finding creative solutions to issues as they arise and ensuring the smooth running of the organisation.

Lead on funder relationships

Communications and events 

• Work closely with the Fundraising Officer to develop and deliver RLS’s communications strategy. 
• Work with the Fundraising Officer and CEO to oversee and continue to develop RLS’s website. 
• Organise and deliver events from time-to-time to support the delivery of RLS’s fundraising strategy. 

Risk management, reporting and record keeping 

• Ensure that the Management Team and board have an accurate picture of RLS’s financial position, including a clear picture of risk. 
• Oversee accurate records of funder and donor relationships and income through our CRM. 

Representing RLS and occasional travel

• Represent RLS at events from time to time.
• Occasional travel, potentially including international travel. 

Line management 

• Provide high quality line management to the Fundraising Officer.
• In future, there may be other line management responsibilities as RLS’s staff changes to meet our new strategy.

Information Officer

Cystic Fibrosis Trust is looking for an Information Officer to join our busy and supportive team at an exciting time of rapid change in cystic fibrosis and the information landscape. Changes in clinical care, treatments and the experiences and needs of people with CF have prompted a dramatic increase in the breadth and volume of information we need to create. At the same time, AI, disinformation and misinformation mean accurate, trusted information is more important than ever.

To navigate the changing landscape of CF and health information, you’ll need editorial expertise and a commitment to engaging with and empowering the cystic fibrosis community through the development of high quality, engaging, accessible information in print and digital formats.

You will develop and maintain our extensive offer of health and other information, including our library of factsheets, special topic information packs, web content and videos aimed at people affected by cystic fibrosis and clinical teams. You will make sure that our resources meet the needs of our target audiences through sensitive and meaningful involvement with people with CF and healthcare professionals.

You will have experience of producing high quality, comprehensive information for people with health conditions from concept through to publication and a knack for making complex health information easy to understand. An understanding of and commitment to the criteria of the Patient Information Forum quality kitemark (the PIF TICK) is integral to the role.

This position will involve working on multiple projects concurrently, juggling priorities, being proactive in your approach and creating reactive information to address emerging issues. Strong organisational and time-management skills are therefore needed, as is the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with colleagues in the team and wider organisation, and a range of external stakeholders.

ROLE SUMMARY

This role will be pivotal in devising, executing, and evaluating impactful marketing and communication strategies that resonate with key audiences and advance upReach's mission of transforming social mobility in the UK. The successful candidate will split their time between PR and external affairs (50%) and marketing campaign development and delivery (50%), with flexibility to adjust based on organisational priorities.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, and closely collaborating with the Junior Marketing and Communications Manager on specific projects, focussed on increasing press coverage, creating compelling marketing materials, and delivering impactful campaigns. You will work closely with the wider team to ensure all communications align with upReach’s brand, with the ultimate aim of championing upReach's mission to transform social mobility in the UK. You will also support upReach in fulfilling our 2024-27 strategic objectives.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

PR, External Affairs & Policy:

• PR Strategy: Contribute to the development and implementation of a PR strategy to raise awareness of upReach and the cause of social mobility, secure new partners/funders, and attract student applicants. 

• Media Content: Create press releases, opinion pieces, blogs and research that reflect the charity’s policy positions on key social mobility issues, and keep upReach website up to date with the latest coverage and articles. 

• Impact Monitoring: Track and quality score incoming press coverage to analyse performance and adjust strategies based on incoming insights, pro-actively securing additional backlinks.

• External Stakeholder Management: Help respond to incoming media inquiries, ensuring timely responses and distribution of materials. Cultivate relationships with journalists, media outlets, influencers, other social mobility organisations, and other key stakeholders to expand upReach’s visibility, updating the CRM and journalist database accordingly.

• Media, Policy and Research Monitoring: Track and respond to relevant social mobility and education-related policy changes in the UK, ensuring upReach has an active voice in these discussions where appropriate and disseminating key updates to the wider team. 

• Award Submissions: Support the identification and submission of high-quality award entries to build upReach’s profile across key target sectors.

• Crisis Communications: Support in the preparation of responses to any external inquiries or crises, ensuring upReach’s reputation is protected.

• Patron and Ambassador Research: Assist in the research of potential high-profile ambassadors for upReach, ensuring they align with our mission and values.

Marketing Campaigns:

• Student Attraction: Support the delivery of upReach’s student attraction strategy to raise awareness of upReach amongst eligible undergraduate students.

• Campaign Support: Assist in the planning and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns that drive engagement with beneficiaries, partners, donors, and funders.

• Monitoring and Evaluation: Assist in reporting on the success of campaigns using tools like Google Analytics and social media insights.

• Collaborative Marketing: Collaborate with other charities, higher education institutions, and student societies, to develop co-marketing opportunities that expand programme reach among target student audiences.

• Manage the External Affairs rotation to help one member of the Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP), upReach’s internal graduate scheme, to learn more about this area of the charity.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone who is passionate about social mobility and believe that background should not be a barrier to graduate employment. 

To be successful, you would ideally have experience in marketing and communications, particularly in executing PR and policy strategies, facilitating media relations and/or running successful communications campaigns. While not required, experience within a charity, social impact or education-focused organisation would also be highly beneficial for this role.

• The role currently includes management of the reception and admin team who support women as they come into the building and utilise the welcome space for activities as well as support the logistical running of the building

Facilities & Health and Safety inc

• Manage the charity’s facilities (offices, community spaces, etc.) and ensure safe working environments.

• Oversee health and safety compliance and business continuity planning. 

Leadership and Strategic Input

Contribute to organisational strategy and business planning.

• Work closely with other members of the senior leadership team to ensure alignment across contracts, teams and activity offers

• Build and maintain working partnerships with external organisations 

• Support and develop your team ensuring they are competent and empowered to undertake their roles and support you and the organisation deliver quality services   

• Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with relevant legislation and Nottingham Women’s Centre policies and procedures, including the Centre’s Equal Opportunities policy and Health and Safety Policy. 

• Deputise for the CEO as required. 

The nature of the role and organisation will require you to be flexible and you may be asked carry out any other duties commensurate with this post

You will take the lead on our Business Supporters Network: researching businesses that can support local authorities on their decarbonisation journey, reaching out to them and establishing mutually beneficial partnerships.

You will also be the go-to person internally for keeping our organisation running smoothly. From organising team meetings to developing our CRM’s functionality and ensuring our HR policies and processes are up to date and properly implemented. You will make sure people have everything they need to do their best work.

It’s an exciting time to be joining our team as we will start preparing for the 10th birthday of UK100 in 2026!

Administration of our Business Support Network

• Research businesses that can help local authorities on their decarbonisation journey
• Run due diligence checks on potential business partners to ensure they comply with our Ethical Fundraising Policy
• Set up and minute meetings, coordinate proposals
• Prepare and issue contracts and invoices
• Maintain accurate, compliant data in our CRM

Finance and HR

• Oversee income and expenditure budgets and performance
• Produce and circulate monthly management accounts
• Manage relationships with our suppliers, ensuring we get value for money and pay promptly
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, off-boarding and HR record-keeping

Operations and Governance

• Office management and coordination with our workspace provider.
• Organise team meetings and team socials
• Maintain UK100’s Customer Relationship Management system and support UK100 staff in using the CRM.
• Support UK100’s management of IT systems, ensuring staff are trained and follow best practice guidance
• Develop and improve UK100's policy and procedures, as well maintaining key organisational documents.
