The Role

We are looking for a proactive, compassionate, and creative Communications Officer to lead on our external and internal communications.

You will help strengthen our voice and build trust with our community, partners, and the wider public by telling our stories.

In this role, you’ll manage our social media channels, creating content and developing campaigns. You'll oversee our website and digital presence. You will work with the staff team and community members to produce accessible resources. You will support events that bring communities and stakeholders together.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the charity’s communications strategy, with the key aims of being professional and approachable. This will include social media, newsletters, website content, and printed materials.

Purpose
This is an exciting new role supporting the delivery of the events and partnerships programme within a leading mental health charity.
We are looking for someone with a love for events and a passion for supporting people, who is excited by the prospect of raising funds that make a difference for young people’s mental health. You will be an excellent communicator, highly organised, and able to work on multiple projects concurrently. You will be committed to delivering an exceptional supporter experience for our event participants and corporate and community partners. Experience within the third sector is desirable but not a necessity.
As an Events and Partnerships Officer, your role is to support the planning, delivery and promotion of an exciting calendar of fundraising events, and support our corporate and community partners in their fundraising efforts.

Key responsibilities and duties:

Supporting our events programme

• Supporting the overall delivery of our events programme, working closely with the Senior Events and Partnerships Manager, Head of Fundraising and voluntary fundraising committees.
• Take a lead role on the planning, delivery and evaluation of a number of events within the calendar - which may include budgeting, liaising with third-party event organisers, logistics, risk assessment, promotion, participant engagement and post-event analysis.
• Monitor online fundraising and maintain event income and supporter records in the database, working closely with the Fundraising Assistant and finance team on processing income and invoices.
• Act as a point of contact for our various voluntary fundraising committees, supporting them with their activities, and providing event guidance and administrative support to enable them to deliver successful events and reach income targets.
• Working closely with our communications team, co-ordinate the marketing and promotion of our events programme. This will include: writing copy, building emails, supporting social activity, multi-channel promotion planning and supporter engagement campaigns.
• Collaborate on the design and production of event materials, including the development of event-specific fundraising packs and downloadable resources.
• Represent the Charlie Waller Trust at events as required which will include ad-hoc evenings and weekends for which time off in lieu will be given.

Supporting our partnerships

• Co-ordinate partnerships with community and corporate supporters, building long-term relationships and ensuring that partners feel valued and partnership objectives are met.
• Steward relationships with key people within our community and corporate partners, engaging them with the cause.
• Send fundraising materials (including t-shirts, information packs, etc.) to individual supporters, corporate partners and community groups raising money for us.

General responsibilities and duties

• Ensure that systems and processes are used as expected, and that our database is being updated and utilised as the central source of information.
• Provide regular updates on progress against agreed objectives and contribute to wider departmental fundraising reports as required.Ensure compliance to data protection, safeguarding, confidentiality and relevant organisational policies and procedures.
• Other duties as may be reasonably prescribed by the trust, appropriate to the grade and responsibilities of the post.
• Liaise with a wide variety of people and organisations including supporters of the charity, trainers and funders.

The Communications Team tells people who Liberty is, what we do and how they can get involved – helping to shape the narrative of the media debate and influence decision makers. Additionally, you will play a leading role in working to develop the music aspects of The Resource Hub (formerly Singing the Faith +). Finally, you will work with congregations and circuits where there are no church musicians, to support high quality music within worship in those contexts.

Alongside this, you will believe deeply in the importance of wide congregational participation in worship. You will have an ability to translate the best of Methodist tradition for a contemporary setting. The Role

This is a key appointment to the Executive Leadership Team. The COO will be responsible for leading the charity’s internal operations, ensuring that people, processes, and systems are aligned with the organisation’s strategy and purpose. The role oversees key functions including Finance, Legal & Assurance, Technology and Data, People & Culture, and Governance. Working closely with the CEO, the COO will help drive organisational effectiveness, financial sustainability, and operational resilience.

Key responsibilities include strategic planning, operational leadership, board relations, risk and compliance, digital transformation, and culture development. The role will also lead on governance frameworks, internal controls, and business continuity. The organisation is developing its five year strategy and the role will be vital in creating tactical plans to assist with the delivery enabling the charity to have robust processes and enable growth.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be an experienced senior leader with a strong track record in operational leadership in the non-profit or social impact sector. You will bring a deep understanding of charity governance, finance, and compliance, alongside experience of managing cross-functional teams across HR, Legal, Finance, and Technology.

You will be values-led, collaborative, and comfortable working at pace in a mission-driven environment. Strong communication skills, strategic vision, and the ability to deliver cultural change and innovation will be essential. Professional accountancy qualifications or equivalent experience overseeing finance functions are expected.

The Role 

As our Data Governance Officer, you will join our multi-disciplinary Data Management Team within our Digital, Data and Technology Directorate. You will play a central role in supporting colleagues across the Charity to implement our data governance strategy, ensuring that colleagues are enabled to manage data ethically, securely, and legally across a wide and varied set of functions.

You will be as passionate and knowledgeable about supporting colleagues to develop an effective data culture and bring about the mindset and behaviour change that this requires as you are about data governance. We are a small team building culture change and supporting colleagues to take on new roles and responsibilities around data, placing ownership where it is most effective and enabling colleagues to see their relationships with data differently. 

You will have: 

• Experience in data governance or data management – ideally in the charity or public sector. 

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially with non-technical audiences. 

• A collaborative approach and ability to influence change across teams. 

• A passion for ethical data use and making a difference through better information. 

• Working knowledge of data protection laws (e.g. GDPR) and how they apply to charities. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Implementation, review, and refinement of the data governance framework, strategy and vision ensuring that these align with the Charity's Corporate Strategy. 

• Enabling and promoting data governance best practice in the charity 

• Contribute to enterprise-wide data management, working closely with data architecture/engineering colleagues and the wider business teams.

About the role

We are recruiting an Information & Advice Adviser who will be joining a progressive, inclusive and dynamic team, an integral part of our Community Support model, and wider Age UK Merton services.

The Information & Advice Adviser is a vital role that works directly with older people who come to the service seeking information and advice on pension age benefits.

Last year the service worked to support over 800 older adults with information and advice on benefits, health, housing and care, and assisted the uptake of nearly £600,000 of previously unclaimed benefits.

An important part of this role will be to triage initial client needs which have been referred into the service by both internal and external partners, this will then ensure the team provides the right advice and high-quality support, whether on the phone, email or face to face.

You will be joining an accredited advice service (with the Advice Quality Standard), delivered by a high calibre team and you will be given opportunities to train and develop in the role.

About you

You will need to have attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills to support the complex and diverse range of issues that our clients face.

Experience in the information and advice sector is desirable but not essential as full training will be given. As Community Gardening Movement Builder (England & Wales) you will be responsible for:

• Leading the digital and in-person convening of community gardeners across England and Wales, to increase the engagement of community gardens, support groups to develop and thrive, and build the platform of the community gardening movement.

• Mapping key stakeholders, campaigns and movement-building activity underway in sectors and spaces relevant to community gardening, keeping colleagues up to date with developments, and flagging challenges and opportunities.

• With the Community Partnerships & Networks Manager, building strong relationships with community gardening groups, partner organisations and key external stakeholders in the policy sphere – such as local authorities, mayoralties and devolved governments.

• Working closely with colleagues in the Communities team and other teams across the RHS to plan, commission and platform a wide range of digital content that will encourage, inspire and enable the community gardening movement.

• Working closely with RHS colleagues, partner organisations and community gardeners to commission, collate and promote data, research and stories that will help amplify the voices of community gardeners and build the case for policy change. 

About you

You will be able to show: 

• A passion for growing, nature, and the role that community gardening can play in bringing people together and addressing social, economic and environmental challenges. 

• A track record of experience in a movement building, policy, strategy, public affairs or external communications role (or the ability to demonstrate similar levels of knowledge if you have not worked in one of these specialisms before). 

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present and creatively engage different audiences. 

• Adept interpersonal skills, with experience of building external relationships and collaborating with a wide range of contacts. 

• Strong digital literacy, and an interest in utilising a wide range of digital tools to connect, communicate and convene. 

• An eye for detail, with the ability to analyse, interpret and present complex data. 

• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to use your initiative to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• The ability to work as an integral member of a small, high-performing team, and to work collaboratively and with agility across the team and the wider organisation.
