Link Age Southwark is a vibrant local charity providing support to over 800 older people in Southwark who are feeling lonely or isolated. Our vision is for friendly local communities where older people and those living with a diagnosis of dementia can thrive in their later years.
All our volunteering opportunities are within the London Borough of Southwark, predominantly south of the borough - Camberwell, Peckham, Nunhead, Dulwich and around.
By becoming a Digital Buddy, you’ll help bridge the digital divide, ensuring everyone can stay connected and navigate the digital world confidently. Are you able to support our service users and help build their digital skills with sessions at home on their mobile phones, tablets, or laptops? Our Digital Buddies provide up to six weekly home visits, each lasting 1-2 hours.
Some examples of what a Digital Buddy can assist with:
- Accessing online services
- Setting up a new digital device
- Mobile messaging
- Sending emails
- Picture messaging
- Problem solving
- Staying safe online
No need to be a tech expert—support with the basics so our older friends can communicate and navigate their devices. Please note that our Digital Buddies are not able to support with online banking, advice on purchases, or fixing hardware.

We cover all reasonable expenses and we are happy to provide references for volunteers who have completed 6 months of volunteering with us.

Overview
We are seeking a proactive and innovative Digital Champion Volunteer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in enhancing our online presence and driving our digital marketing initiatives. Could you make a difference as a volunteer Digital Champion?
We are looking for people with a good understanding of how to use computers,
smart phones and tablets to give peer support to people who are new to these
devices. You will help them to do things like:
• use Google
• set up an email account
• look for reliable health information online
• connect with friends and family using video calling
• use MS word to write a CV
• access job search websites
You need a good level of basic computer skills, but you don't have to be an IT
genius. Much more important is having enthusiasm and patience to spend some
time helping others to get online.

We rebuild tropical fisheries with coastal communities
Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organization that puts people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life and build lasting pathways to prosperity. Our work began two decades ago in Madagascar’s remote coastal communities and is growing globally.
Across a dozen countries, we’re partnering with traditional fishers and community organizations to design, scale, strengthen and sustain fisheries management and conservation at the community level. We bring partners together in networks to advocate for reform, and share tools and best practices to support fishing communities across the globe.
Summary Terms of Reference
We currently have nine trustees on our board and three established subcommittees. One is tasked with overseeing our People and Culture function, and the other is Finance, Risk, and Audit. We also have a Safeguarding Reporting sub-committee.
We seek a trustee with expertise in data governance, digital oversight, and Data Protection compliance to support Blue Ventures as we scale our digital infrastructure and strengthen our organisational technology capability. This trustee will provide strategic guidance and assurance over our digital transformation, particularly as we implement changes across enterprise resource planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms. The role will also be key in helping to ensure that data governance frameworks uphold compliance, integrity, and ethical standards across all operating regions.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK Data Protection Act 2018, and practical experience advising on digital risk, cybersecurity, and data architecture in complex, international environments. Experience in the charity or international development sector is welcome but not required.
Experience in governance and compliance oversight relating to the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of core systems across Blue Ventures is key.
Knowledge of Technology, Service and Change best practice frameworks, including ITIL, TOGAF, APM would be an advantage.

What will I be doing?
Our amazing Activity Volunteers play a key role in supporting blind children and young people to take part in a variety of activities. These range from sports, creative (singing, performing, art), audiobook club and day trips. Our activities are designed for blind young people to meet new friends, gain confidence, learn new skills/sports, and become more independent. The skills you have developed in your career and personal life will be invaluable to our young people.

Who are you?
We welcome applications from people with a wide range of skills and experiences. You don’t need to have volunteered or worked before as full training will be provided. We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of sight problems.
What’s in it for me?

As part of your volunteering, you will have access to Sighted Guide training, a training session designed to help you understand the issues and complexities of sight problems and give you the ability to help others navigate the world.

RSBC can also provide references and impact reports from your volunteering if required.
You will be fully supported in your role by our team of expert and compassionate service delivery team.

Board Member / Trustee
Reimbursement: £0 (reasonable expenses paid)
Location: Regular attendance at Board and Committee meetings in Central London or Cheam, Surrey.
Duration: initial 3-year term with option to extend.

This is an exciting time for our organisation – we are growing and our ambition is to grow faster over the coming 5 years. This role will support a Charity that is working to embed itself back into the heart of the UK Civil Service.
As one of our Trustees, you will be responsible for ensuring that our strategic focus and ambition enable us to fulfil our mission. You will also work with our Chief Executive and Executive team to shape and monitor our impact.
For this round of recruitment, we are looking for candidates with expertise in Charity Fundraising; Communications and Marketing; Finance and investments; or Digital & Technology.

About The Space
The Space exists to enable the arts, culture and heritage sectors to engage audiences using digital and broadcast content and platforms.
Founded in 2013 by Arts Council England and the BBC, we are an independent not for profit community interest company. Our role is to fund the creation of new digital cultural content and provide free training, mentoring and online resources for organisations, artists and creative practitioners.
We believe embracing digital is essential to the future of cultural activity. Digital technologies have the power to open up new ways for people to access, participate in, and share, the rich diversity of UK culture. Applying these strategically enables new artistic forms, attracts new audiences and makes cultural experiences democratic and available to all. The Space prioritises creating new engagement opportunities for people who are currently under-represented in cultural content and across broadcast and digital media.
The Space is based in the West Midlands. Our team of ten employees are located throughout the UK and work predominantly from home. They are supported by a network of around 80 freelance associates enabling us to give those we support access to specialist digital and broadcast skills in their own regions.
About the roles
You will work with our new Chair, Ri Chakraborty, and other members of the Board to provide governance and oversight and ensure the effective delivery of The Space’s community interest objectives.
You will act as a critical friend, constructively challenging both the Board and the Executive team to develop the organisation’s capabilities.
You will enjoy advocating for our work and supporting our ambitious agenda to help cultural organisations across the UK and internationally to thrive through their use of cultural digital content.
Who we are looking for
For the finance specialist, you will provide oversight and review of relevant financial procedures, controls and policies, ensuring that the organisation is operating within a sound financial framework, managing risk appropriately, is compliant with its legal financial obligations and is accountable to the Board.
A strong familiarity with not for profit governance is beneficial, alongside experience overseeing public funding and a passion for arts, culture and technology.
For the generalist role, we are looking for a Non-Executive Director with senior experience and, ideally, previous board experience. You will be familiar with governance in the not for profit sector, alongside senior experience in either the arts, culture, and/or heritage sectors.
You will understand digital and/or broadcast content production and be an advocate for the benefits of using technology to increase equitable access to cultural content for audiences.
You will bring a creative, curious and entrepreneurial mindset, excited by The Space’s plans and committed to supporting its ambitions.
